The contact owns a dometic refrigerator, model rm7732.the contact noticed ammonia leaking from the coolant unit.there is a recall for the dometic refrigerators; however, the contact stated that she never received a recall notice.her model number was not included in the recall, even though the failures are identical.a qualified mechanic came and inspected the refrigerator and confirmed the ammonia leak.the repair will be expensive.the recall number was unknown.
On the road to go camping in april 2008 we noticed the refrigerator had quit working. Took to an rv repair person and was told the ammonia had leaked onto the pilot light. This could have caused a fire. This same problem happened in october of 2007. The motorhome was only used 15 days since the cooling unit was replaced in november 2007, and it leaked again. I had to have a second cooling unit installed on the 31st of may, 2008.
Our dometic refrigerator/freezer model no. Rm7732 leaked the ammonia out of the cooling unit.this is the same problem of other models on the recall list. Yet dometic won't fix it since it isn't on the list. We want this corrected asap.
While staying in the motorhome in october of 2007, the refrigerator quit working. Took to an rv repair facility and i was told the ammonia had leaked out onto the pilot light and put out the pilot. It could have started a fire. A new cooling unit was installed in november of 2007.the motorhome was used a total of 15 days after the replacement. In april of 2008 we went to go camping and the refrigerator was not working again.took to another rv repair facility and, again, i was told the cooling unit had leaked the ammonia onto the pilot light. A second cooling unit had to be installed.
My model rm-7732 dometic rv refrigerator stopped working, so i had a technician troubleshoot it. He found that the refrigerant had all leaked out through a crack that was near the burner and would have ignited had i been using lp gas to run the refrigerator instead of 110 ac. Dometic does not list my model number under their current recall list even though this is the exact same problem as their other units are having. Apparently, they wait until fatalities have been incurred to add a particular model number to the list.
The dometic rm7732 refrigerator in my rv failed and the ammonia leaked out while the vehicle was occupied.we quickly evacuated the vehicle before we were overcome by the fumes. Fortunately we were not running the unit on gas or there would have been a fire.this is a very dangerous unit and should be recalled.
