Texas pride trailers is offering a 16k lowboy equip trailer, they advertise tandem 8,000 lb axles with 3 3/8" brakes - however, upon inspection, the axles are 7,000 lb with 2" brakes. The general mgr. [xxx]insists he has on file a report that details the 7k 2" brake axle is equivalent to the 8k 3 3/8" brake axle, therefore they install these axles on their advertised 16k trailers - however upon requesting a copy of that file he will not provide one. Very deceptive and dangerous braking potential if a person loads the 16k tx pride trailer to the maximum gvwr as they advertised. He feels no guilty conscience what so ever - i sincerely hope someone does not get injured or killed from this deception of his company advertising16k gvwr, when the actual capacity of the axles being installed are 14k gvwr. Who knows how many advertised 16k trailers they have sold and are on the road with 14k rated 2" brake axles on them. Their deceptive sales on their 16k trailers should be stopped!!they were very quick to refund my deposit upon responding to the deception, but not willing to install 8k axles to remedy the mistake, they state they only install 7k axles on these trailers, and never have installed 8k axles on the 16k gvwr trailers to this very day. Leaf springs on travel trailers bending or breaking causing tire blowouts and could lead to fatal crashes.manufacturers are dexter and lippert.it appears products as far back as 2016 have been affected.my personal grand design imagine 2016 had the issue.i replaced the springs myself.on websites dozens of problems have been reported and manufacturers have been made aware of the problem but have not initiated a voluntary recall.
Owner of fifthweel voltage 2017 model3005 .just beforewarranty ended, the 7000 pound front axel was bended and be change by the dealer in 2018. In november 2019 , lost one wheel on the road. The spindle shear just behind thebearing. This bearing wasn?t grease. I was very lucky , no injury and no crash except the sidewall of the fifthweel. I don?t have more detail because the fifthweel still at repair shop . Waiting for new axel *dt
