Battery terminal is dislodged from battery case and acid dripped out of it.consumer lost all power. Dealer has been contacted.battery was delco.

Orignal equipmenton 1998, gmc, savannah.first incident,battery bolt had to be tightened.second incident, while driving there was no braking/ steering ability due tobattery acid leaking and spraying ontoengine compartment which may cause a crash/ injury or death.dealer saidpost of the battery came out which caused the acid to leak.common problem. Delco was aware of the problem, and sent parts to the dealers to checkbatteries, but were denying any problem with delco battery.please provide further information.

Battery leaking acid from positive side-mount terminal.corroding the replacement brake hoses under battery slightly and possibly causing failure of original brake hoses.

My ac delco battery malfunctioned. A plastic insert on the positive terminal melted. I contacted the dealer and he refused to honor the six year warranty on the battery because my vehicle was out of warranty due to mileage. I contacted an ac delco service center and they refused to honor the six year warranty on the basis that when the warranty on the truck expired, so did their six year warranty that is no good. That is not fair to the consumer. While driving approximately 30 mph, the vehicle stalled. Thedealerreplaced the delco battery. The technician indicated that the intake manifold gasket broke andneeded to be replaced. Before the battery was replaced the vehicle was jump started by aaa, however the battery failed again, aaa had to be called again and upon inspection it was found the positive post had separated from the battery.

Vehicle started being sluggish, consumer opened hood and noticed battery acid all around battery. One of the batterys terminal was coming loose, and acid was leaking. Battery was a a.c. Delco.

Battery acid is corroding the battery pan and surrounding components,alsopositive cable connected to battery has fallen off, dealer has been contacted. Consumer stated the battery by delco, also headlights are developing spiderwebbing and clouding of lens, and rear hatch pinches palm of hands or fingers, the rear hatch handle broke off.

While driving the engine stalled causing loss of power brakes and power steering, consumer had difficulty maintaining control, the dealership indicated a loose battery cable which caused the stalling problem, however after repair the vehicle stalled a second time, consumer returned the vehicle to the dealership which found that the delco battery had a split in it, dealership replaced the battery and indicated that they had seen many defective a.c. Consumer states the vehicles battery exploded.

The engine light illuminated, the dealership indicated the ac delco battery leaked acid all over the wiring harness.

Consumer stated the battery terminal leaked acid onto the garage floor.the battery had been replaced twice due to a leak. *ph this happened for a second time.the battery was by delco for gm which had side terminals which suddenly leaked.(this acid corroded the motor compartment and leaked onto the garage floor eating the concrete. The abs light had come on , the pump kept running, the abs cable had broke. The torque bolts were rusted out, the steering and suspension when turningleft or right, there was a thumping noise that had come from the front end, when turning right there was a bouncing and binding sound, the vehicle would not crank, the brakes made an abnormal noise, and the front were worn.the steering column was removed and replaced. *scc

Twice, 2 different batteries have leaked acid from the positive terminal melting the battery cable.both batteries were ac delco/part no. 19001628.2nd battery was installed 01/12/00. Ph

Delco battery failed, the entire battery positive(+) terminal fell out of the side of the battery, there was a substantial amount of corrosion on the battery and within the battery tray, also cracked and leaking, consumer had 5 years on battery,but was told by dealer that vehicle was over 36,000 miles and would not honor warranty, consumer has replaced batttery.

Dt*: the contact stated while attempting to start the engine, it would not start.upon initial inspection under the hood, the positive post of the battery was completely separated.the contact placed the post back into the battery, but the problem persisted.the manufacturer was notified.updated 10/25/2006 - when the battery connection failed the green light, indicating a good battery, was on. The gauge was reading 14, the same as withthe new battery.

The consumer saw battery acid leaking from the vehicle. Themechanic repaired the problem once, however the problem resurfaced.the positive battery post broke and caused the acid to leak down the side of the engine compartment. The dealer would not provide any financial assistance and told the consumer to call ac delco.the consumer contacted ac delco and was told it was the dealer's problem.

The positive post broke off the delco battery which came with the vehicle when it was purchased new from the dealership. The dealership which sold the vehicle refused to honor the warrantywhich came with the battery when the vehicle was sold. The consumer told chevrolet that battery acid was leakingand it was a safety issue, and the battery clearly states that it has a six year warranty and general motors should uphold that coverage.

Consumer states the vehicles battery exploded.

The battery had corroded after 18 months. Took vehicle back & had battery replaced & it leaked on the electrical wiring, 18 months later.

The positive battery cable of the ac delco battery was leaking acid, consumer disconnected the negative terminal and acid flowed out, the leaking acid deteriorated the wiring harness.nlm

On two occasions the vehicle experienced sudden loss of electrical power while driving when both the acdelco batteries leaked acid into their attached power cables also damaging the alternators.nlm

The battery has a side terminal post. The positive cable keeps detaching from the terminal, allowing acid to be exposed, as a result, the vehicle has to be towed .driver believed when driving on the highway vehicle poses a safety hazard.

Ac delco used a insulative spray on the circuit boards in these ecus/computers which shrinks over time when exposed to warm and cool temperature conditions, such as the normal conditions that an automobile is subjected to. The shrinking insulative spray contracts and pulls the electronic components from the circuit board, breaking solder connections and causing shorts.
