Ford f-250 towing an eclipse attitude 25ak toy hauler equipped with a coast weight distribution hitch system.pick-up towing trailer from driveway onto street approx. 5 mph.the weld on the l-shaped shank of the hitch broke and the front of the trailer dropped to the ground.damage to rear bumper of pick-up, jack handle of trailer, and sway control bar.the part of the hitch that holds the ball also damaged from the fall.integrity of trailer from the fall still to be determined.local rv dealer (not the dealer we acquired the hitch from) will replace entire hitch free of charge as per recall notice from coast dist.rv dealer we acquired the hitch from claimed to have no knowledge of the recall and therefore has not notified any customers of the recall!the dealer had no issue with us dealing with a local dealer to get the hitch replaced. The recall includes shanks stamped with "ctc-xx-xx".the xx-xx is the month and year of manufacture.the shanks included in the recall were sold jan 2006 to june 2007.ours was stamped "ctc-05-06".
