I was notified by another driver i had no brake lights, brought back to dealer and informed that it would cost $400 to fix.found out through my employer there had been a recall for this problem.why was it not corrected before i purchased it from the chevy dealer.also informed my airbag warning light was on and the a module was at fault and would cost another $550 to fix and that it may inflate airbag while driving.these are totally unrealistic problems to occur in a 2 year old model with less then 40,000 mi.

I purchase a used 1999 chevrolet cavalier from a chevrolet dealer in hamilton nj.since the time of purchase in late 2001, the car has been in service many times for the windows and locks not working among other things, and has had three driver's side window regulators replaced.each time i was told a new regulator was put in.when i questioned the quality of the regulators, the dealer told me my complaint was with gm and not them because they get their parts from gm.how can the window regulators be "bad" three times in less than a year?besides the windows, i've had problems with automatic locks not working and the drivers side door not closing.the car is still under warranty but what happens when the warrenty expires and i need yet another window regulator?i do not qualify for the nj used car lemon law because the problems began three months beyond the limitation date, even though i met every other qualification.

Wire plug inside gas tank overheated an melted the wires and the plug. The pump of course stopped working so truck would not start.about 3 years ago the fuel pump was replaced under warranty by hubler chevrolet on us31 in greenwood. I do not know if this was the same problem then. The bill says they replaced the pump at that time. This time the truck was not under warranty so i was going to replace the fuel pump myself. When i pulled the pump from the tank i found the burnt wires. I bench tested the pump and it still worked. Also the wires for fuel gauge were melted. The fuel gauge had been working off and on for about two weeks. I was waiting for warmer weather to pull the fuel tank and fix it when this happened. As hot as it had to get to melt the way it did, my family and i are fortunate that the fuel tank did not explode.

Head gasket leaking for the 3rd time. Apparently was fixed when i received the recall and brought into the dealer. Gm not helpful.dealer not helpful.dealer drained all of my freon as well and broke my heater switch.gm tells me that this is a consumer/business problem and to contact the attorney general.after reading all of the other head gasket recall problems that appear to be the exact same issue, i see a class action suit against gm in the making.

While my vehicle was parked and turned off, my 4 year old knocked itout of gear, come to find out that it goes from the parked status tothe 1st gear without having to have key in or push the brake petalto take it out of gear it is free flowing, and very dangerous.i was very fortunately loading some groceries when it happened andwith the assistance of a very nice person walking by, were able toget it back into park and no injuries accrued, i dread to think of what would have happened if one of my two young children would have been in my position, what the outcome could have been. *nlm

Front bucket seat release piece has come off once on both front seats, already off for second time for driver side (and not that i use it that much either!). Cannot move the location of the back of the front seat, making sitting straight up very tiring and aggravating for driving!

I am writing to complain about the second failure of the "power assist" feature on my 2001 chevrolet suburban.the first failure occured during january of 2002, and the power steering pump was replaced at fox chevrolet dealership in laurel, md.in the 2002 event, i experienced a high pitch whining and vibrations in the steering, as well as the brake pedal.in effecting this repair, chevrolet replaced the power steering pump. During the latter part of november 2002, the high pitch whining and vibration returned.i took the vehicle to bill seidle's chevrolet in clermont, fl in november of2002, and was told that there was nothing wrong with the steering or brakingsystem.unfortunately, they were wrong.on tuesday evening, 2/4/2003, while drivingwith my seven year old, the same high pitch whining, and pulsing in the brakepedal returned.this time it resulted in the total loss of power steering andbrakes while exiting a local highway system in the orlando area.fortunately, iwas driving as it took quite a bit of strength, to steer and stop the vehicleafter the loss of the power assist system.at what point does the failure of such a critical part of this vehicle getlabeled as a defect in this system.the failure of this system, could have caused injury to me and my family (son). Had my wife been driving this truck, the result may have been gravely different. I purchased this vehicle because of the reputation for durability in theindustry, with the expectation of purchasing a quality vehicle.i am nowfearful of putting my family in this vehicle after a second failure of thiscritical system.i am requesting that i be contacted as soon as possible by someone that canaddress my concerns.i am concerned about placing my family in a vehicle that has had the power steering/braking system fail twice.

On 04-17-03 i went out to drive my 2001 chevrolet tahoe. As i began to drive down the street the vehicle shut off and the battery indicator light came on.i lost power steering and brakes.as the vehicle rolled, i was able to get it over to the right side of the road out of traffic .i attempted to start it a couple of times before noticing that gas was coming out from underneath the drivers area and was pouring onto the ground.i had the vehicle towed to a local mechanic who advised that the gas line became disconnected. I had just left my son in surgery and was to come back to pick him and my wife up.this incident could have become very bad and killed myself and possibly my family had they been in the vehicle.this needs to be investigated and action taken.in the past i along with my wife have reported vehicle problems to the dealer with them taking little to no action.please help also the steering appears to be becoming a problem.

While driving my 1999 chevrolet corvette i turned off the highway & into the parking lot of a store upon doing so my steering wheel locked up. I never received any warnings in my dic about steering problems i also had this replacement part per a recall notice less than a year ago & at that time found out it had been replaced prior to that. The dealership towed the car in & informed us that they had fixed it again! this is an extremely dangerous vehicle! the notes i read on your site even 1997 through 2002 models with this problem none of the reports were while driving they were when people got into their car & started it that the wheel didn't unlock. I have as i said before never received a message in the dic prior to any of the lock up problem. I am the 2nd owner of this vehicle & in the 18 months i have had it it has been replaced 2 times this last time could have been fatal to both myself and my daughter! just 10 seconds earlier being on the highway with speeds of 60 mph we could have been killed!at what cost will it take for general motors to correct this wrong? my daughter says she will not get back into the car again! i myself am scared for my life to take the chance that this will occur again! so, i refuse to drive the car anymore. These are not cheap cars to buy! i have owed several other corvettes & had a few minor problems here & there, but not anything that could be a life threatening or life taking problem especially after the fixes being done by the dealership! another thing i would like to ask of you, if you have an automatic transmission on this car, is it not supposed to be locked when the steering wheel is? i did all the so-called things, of key removal & wait, etc & it did not unlock the steering, but you could put it in any gear to move it. Just straight forward & backward do to no steering. I can't seem to get a real answer to this question.*nlm ref. In ea02-031 *cjs

Transmission went out oct-02 @ 21,000 miles, would only replace 1 part, transmission went out again may 13,2003 @ 31,000 miles, this time i was told all parts in transmission were destroyed and dealer wanted to fix broken parts and put back in. It got very frustrating at this point....called toll free number at chevrolet and got no where, they think i'm stupid, i pay more than $40,000 for a brand new vehicle and have this happen twice in 5 months....i am very concerned about the safety issue here for my family and myself.i should have known i was doomed when i purchased my vehicle, it took almost 6 weeks to get and they kept giving me the run around about where it was, they kept telling it had left the factory and was on its way, but always found an excuse, then they said it got pulled off the line for inspection...what's wrong here?they told me at least 5 different times it had left the factory and then all of a sudden it's on the line...it never left the factory....i should have known then....

The slave cylinder in my transmission has gone out every 1.5 years.this is the third time it went out and my clutch got saturated and thus needed to be replaced too.this is definitely a defective part and gm should admit to it.

Have a 96 lumina with real bad brakes i gave richardson chevy the nhtsa id number.a recall on the power boster, and he says he dont know anything of such a number, basicly just getting the run around from them. Plus before then i had already taken the car to another dealer about the same problem .and they put front pads on it and said everything else was fine (purch motors)plus other mishaps with this dealer. What can i do next to get some answers.. Luckyly i live in small town if not would of been in an accident long time ago.

The fuel inj. And the fuel pump has went out more than two time's each.

I used a $5 product promoted by gm to seal a leak in the radiator of my 1995 chevrolet astro van. It sealed the radiator off from the engine causing catastrophic damage to the engine. My van now either needs a new engine or to be replaced. Gm (chevrolet and parts & service told me that since my van is 8 yrs old with high mileage it is my problem and they will not help me rectify the problem.ther than a small water leak the van had no mechanic issues prior to using gm vehicle care product cooling system seal tabs1#12378254 gr.8.800it is now a safety issue as the engine lurches unexpectedly.

Transmission locks up, 4 wd lights move on its own, this has happened 4 times since i have owned this car, i requested that i do not want this car back, but they insist they fixed the problem, now with my children 2 and 16 years in the car the 4wd light was malfunctioning and the car locked up and we skid down the street. I donot want this car back, i feel it will kill one or all of us with this lock up of transmission and the car won't move thank god it has not happened on the freway i feel we would be dead. The cars a lemo0n and i am not waiting for it to harm my familly.

I had two inside door panel replaced already.these two things were fixed from the engine compartment, it gets worse when it is colder.fuel gauge is inaccurate and jumps around when truck is not in a moving gear.i am very upset about the last two, because chevy says the truck is working within "normal chevy parameter".i have asked many mechanics and they say either one should be happening.the date below is an approximate time the last two started.i also have had it in twice for both of these problems.
