Air bag warning of failure.cost for repair expensive!reason unknown.

I had a service air bag warning light ton in my 2007 chevrolet silverado pick up truck. I went to a dealerto have it serviced.and was told that the right front impact sensor was corroded and had to be replaced. I felt that this being a safety issue that general motors should cover the cost of repair. I called g.m. And was told that this was an environmental issue and the salt air in my area caused the corrosion and g.m was not responsible. I told the personthat i was talking to that apparently g.m. M,ust be aware of the problem if they know that the salt air corrodes the sensors. Furthermorei mentioned the fact that since there is a problem that the air bag could possibleinflate while driving and possibly cause the driver to swerve off the road or into another vehicle thus causing death or serious injury.i was then given a file number (71-1127296694) and told the matter would be investigated. I later received a phone call from a g.m. Rep. Who said he looked into my complaint and since it was an environmental issue g.m. Was not responsible for repairs. I then stated to him that i was aware that chrysler recently had a recall of vehicles to be repaired because the airbag sensors were corroding.i was told that g.m. Had no such recall. My argument is that this is a safety issue. The corroded sensors could malfunction and cause the air bags to deploy thus causing the driver to swerve and potentially get into a serious accident.chrysler corp. Must have realized this because they had a recall. G.m.does not seem to care and is apparently waiting until there are serious accidents and they are forced to recall vehicles.i also wonder if g.m. And chrysler use the same vendor to purchase the sensors. Most likely they do as there are probably not many company's that manufacture them. I feel this is potentially serioussituation plus the fact that another automobile manufacturer recognized the problem perhaps your agency should investigate.

2008 chevy silverado 4x4 wt. Driver side airbag did not deploy during crash. Vehicle impact was on the front. A fatality occurred during this crash. (passenger in other vehicle) point of impact was front of silverado into passenger side of other vehicle.

Bought a 2000 chevy truck from a used car dealer in oct. 2005. It had approx. 92,000 miles on it. Over the last year i have had to replace the starter 3 times. With only approx. 35,000 miles being put on truck.in late may of 2008 we were told that flywheel had to be replaced also because it was the additional problem. Less than 2 months later starter is bad and now they are telling me that it might be a bad cam sensor. Dealership has told me that a service memo has gone out to mechanics. When i go to start my car-2001 chevy malibu the anti theft light comes on and the car will not start.this has been ongoing foramonth and chevy will not fix.i have researched the internet to find this is a common problem and chevy will not fix or recall.please help.i am a sr citizen with a severely disabled husband.this happens daily.i had it towed and the garage said a battery needed to be replaced.so it was and it still does it.

2005 chevy col 3lt.after3yrs and 2 months of having it i had the problem with the drivers side window and door lock not working.also fuel gauge would drop to empty.fuel float was sticking!nowat 4 1/2 yrs the fuel pump has 'shorted out'.truck would not start.

Engine misfires and is downgraded to 25 mph on highway. Engine knocks and rattles. Problem is a known failure on a good share of 2004.5 through 2005 duramax diesel trucks where #2 and #7 fuel injector harness fails. Mfg know this is a problem and will not fix the truck until the problem has surfaced. This problem could result in rear end collision on highway. They do not honor the warranty which states 5yrs.,100,000 miles. Cost $504 my cost. I have a complaint lodged with the better business bureau of ct. Fuel injector wiring harnesssvc bulletin 05-06-04-047c.

In september 2010 i started having problems with my 2006 chevy trailblazer with the windshield wipers going all of the time . The only way i can get them to shut off or turn them back on is to take the fuse out. This is so inconvient because the fuse box is located in the backseat on the passengers side . I have to lift the seat up and remove two boxes and put in the fuseand to remove it i have to use pliers to get it out.... Also my low fuel light stays on even when i have a full tank of gas so i am constantly at the gas station getting gas so that i am aways sure to have gas in my vehicle. The dealership wants to put the vehicle on diagnostic for $99 which does not go towards the cost of repairs which i can not afford because i am unemployed..i have taken the vehicle back to the dealership i purchased it from and they indicate that it is no longer under warranty and there is nothing they can do but repair it and maybe give me 10% off of my repairs since i purchased it from them...... I see where u have many complaints on this same year and make and model.. Do u have any suggestions on what can be done on this?

S-10-bought new-day after lock on driver side would nt unlock from inside-repaired-seat belt always wet when rains-complained was told (no problem found) still wet when rains, handles broke three times fixed and break again-now have three handles behind seat-still broke-drivers side window(power) will not go up often-or will go up only and inch or two-this started early on-complained was told (no problem found)this is a big problem in cold weather or rain,windshield wipers will not work most of the time,at times they stop straight up on windshield or will not come on at all and next day they may or may not work-complained was told ( no problem found) transmission leak first year-repaired seat will suddenly slide backwards while taking off from stop light or just backing out of driveway. This is very serious as my foot will not reach gas pedal when seat slides backwards and in traffic i have come close to being rear-ended many times as cars veer around me and horns honk-people thinking i have just stopped in road usually have to steer to side of road and stop to adjust seat again,always have to drive slightly leaning forward to put weight off seat,when taking off from stop etc. Complained-they fixed only one side and problem continued next day-complained again and was told i had to see employee named rick-rick was not in-that day,always complained about these things when taking truck in for oil changes and tire rotations etc. Drove to dealer one time after going to car wash and window would not go up-headliner dripping and floorboard full of water and i was soaking wet so they could see it was a problem-while there window would not work and employee saw the mess-was told the man i had to see about this was on vacation-checked back and found rick was no longer an employee--complained to gm and they responds with dealer had no record of any complaints-i have copies of oil changes with my complaints on them with (no problem found) typed on paper.

Normal operation abs cycling when inching to a stop,on hwy operation abs cycles even when braking and there are no adverse conditions problem is sporadic at best for consequences it has not but could lead to accident. Had been taken to dealer for recall, sensors for abs were replaced. Problem is still present.*cw

False gas light comes on. Car stalls so often. Says i have no gas when i have just filled up tank.

When i touch the buttons on my radio they get very very hot. Their is a long list of things wrong with this 2002 chevy trail blazer. But when i contacted chevy they told my that mysuv is not one of the ones affected? their is a noise in the front and the right side of the truck seems lower, like a shock is broken? the rear windshield wiper never worked. The air conditioning only work on the highest level ( 5 ). The rear tailgate never locks when you hit the power locks. The tape player starts on its own, and will blow a fuse causing an electrical smell. The day i bought the 2002 chevy trail blazer the head gasket blew and the dealership replaced it with a used head gasket. This suv has alot of issues and is getting unsafe to drive. I have tried to have chevrolet address these issues but they wont fix anything without me paying for them. I am on a tight budget, and i have seen alot of recalls with these issues that i have described. Shouldn't they fix these things free of charge? please help!

The blower module wire harness continually goes out. I have replaced it twice and the same thing happens. Appears to me that there is some sort of short in the wiring. If you take off the bad harness and look down in the connectors one of them is always burnt up. I worry that it could cause a potential fire hazard. I know that i am not the only person that is happening to. I continually check internet blogs and it seems to happen more often than not.

Odometer failer. 2004 chevy silverado. 61,966 miles.

Failure has occurred twice on my 2004 avalanche surrounding the inefficiencies within my dash board.the speedometer was reading incorrectly.it was very dangerous as the accurate speed was not reporting.i was able to get this replaced at about 40,000 miles.recently, the gas gauge is not working correctly.after filling up the tank and taking a road trip the gas gauge immediately reported an empty gas reading.the gas gauge continues to read incorrectly and fluctuates.i have contacted the company to find out that there is a service warranty on the vehicle up to about 70,000 miles.currently my truck is at 86000 miles all due to highway traffic to work (30 miles each way).i do not feel that i should expense this cost since this is clearly a factory issue.regardless of the number of miles on the vehicle if it is a known defect it should be covered.this is very dangerous as i could run out of gas on the road.this is also very disappointing as this depicts the quality of the vehicle.my father has bought nothing but chevrolet's over the years and states how efficient the vehicles are.in addition i have already replaced the entire dash board once from the first incident surrounding the speedometer to have received another defective dash board surrounding the gas gauge.

I have replaced the instrument cluster 4 times.2 times in 2006 and 2 times in 2008, because the new ones put in were defective.the customer should in no way have to pay for this manufacturing defect.this was on a 2003 chevrolet avalanche.

I own a 2003 chevy tahoe. About a year ago my speedometer and fuel gauge stopped working. I received a speeding ticket because the officer said i was going 5 miles over speed limit. I ran out of gas twice. I called alocal gm dealer who gave me an estimate of 500 dollars. He said he knew what it was but wouldn't tell me the problem. I know of at least 4 other gm owners with same problem. I have been unemployed for 8 months and cannot afford this repair. Gm needs to fix this problem.

Just bought my 2005 chevrolet silverado 24 hrs ago. Speedometer went out. Reads 120 at all times. This is very dangerous , also illegal. Something needs to be done to resolve this issue. Gm should have quality product !

Re:chevy 2005 instrument cluster failureabout 6 months ago, my 2005 chevy silverado 200 truck started experiencing the speedometer failure issue. At that time i called in the dealership tom jumper where i purchased this vehicle and they told me that they know about this issue and it would cost about $600 to get this fixed. They also informed me that there was a litigation against gm for the speedometer issue and had me call gm directly to get this issue fixed to avoid out of pocket expenses. This dealership has closed and out of business. I did call gm according to them there has been litigation going on and they directed to me to this website to find out the status periodically. The website now informs that there was a settlement notice issued and for people who have paid for this repair work should claim their reimbursements. I refuse to pay out of pocket and asked them to get my vehicle fixed as its a manufacturer problem on supplying defective parts. They are asking me to go to chevy dealer and get it diagnosed paid by me and then they will determine if they i am eligible for this repair work. I found this absolutely unacceptable and fraudulent as per keeping their client as a hostage to their demands. I want some action done to help protect consumers like me who are essentially paying for the bailout of these companies in the current economic condition. Please help in this matter. Thanks . Gauge cluster not reading correctly on and off on 2004 chevrolet cavalier.

Instrument cluster replaced1 1/2 years ago because of faulty instrument and speedometer readings. January of 2011 gas gauge malfunctioning reads empty when tank has been filled, and continues to misread levels at all times.

Speedometer quit working.it is stuck on 75mph.

3 year ago i bought a 2003 chevy trailblazer it had 75,000 miles on when i bought it the week after my tach stopped working no reading at all i went to every mechanic they toll me to take it to the dealer i took it to the dealer and they told me that it was a module problem and that and that is going to need a new one they wanted to charge me over 2,500 dollars to fix the problem i have search around auto parts to see if there is any sensor for the tach. Since then it has not work.

Have a 2005 chevy 2500hd truck have had problems with the speedometer sticking at 55-60 now it has stopped on 57mph and goes to 120mph and is now stuck at that point.when the speedometer first stopped the entire instrument panel stopped.

My speedometer is acting bizarre, it just goes round and round, started abut 2 months ago.i understand that the 2003 & 2004 were recalled for the chevy trailblazer.now within the last week, my gas gage has gone crazy not showing accurately, first on empty light on low fuel, then while i'm driving light will go off and it registers to show full take when actually i may have 1/2 tank.i took to repair shop each item is over 300.00 for repair.he suggested to look into see if the censor was recalled for the gas, and that 03 & 04 was recalled for the speedometer and if 05's were being recalled.

Approx. 2 years ago the instrument panel went out in our chevy silverado tk. At that time there was about 50k mi. On the truck. We could not afford to have the panel fixed. We have been driving the truck as is. We have had many chevy tks.about one mo. Ago we received a letter in the mail about chevyproducts having the same problems as ours. But the stipulations are in our eyes un acceptable. You can have no more than 70k mi. On the vehicle in order for chevy to fix this defect. If they knew of the defect how can there be this kind of stipulation...for those of us in ca, the miles traveled are many more than other states. Also the defect in the vehicle does not discriminate. When it happens it happens!the letters were sent out to vehicles that are 2003's. It has already been 5 yrs.we believe there should be a recall on this part.

04 chevy silverado spedo goes to 120 mph and stays there and will not go down.

Parked 2005 chevy hhr and key would not disengage from ignition.this is permanent until an new shift assembly is installed as the solenoid holding the key is locked.this happened in the parking lot at the local community college.having the key locked in the ignition makes the vehicle theft prone.this malfunction is not a driving hazard but creates a theft hazard if it happens where the vehicle cannot be secured, like my home garage.

1998 chevy malibu has a notorious issue with the theft system.i have read 1000's of issue with this light coming on and your not able to start your car.tons of people online with this issue.chevy needs to take responsibility for this default in their vehicles.you pay money to support american auto makers but where is the accountability when the car no longer works.this is not a safety issue.but i think starting a car when you have purchased it is as important. This theft light comes in and you have to wait 15 mins or more for it to cut off to start your own car!!! chevy dealers charge $600+ dollars to replace this sensor. The faulty sensor in chevy vehicles are on tons of website and they are aware of this issue, but why has there been a recall !!you want to help the economy...helping.getting people to work on time is a great start.next time, i'm going foreign.japanese.....to many money hungry companies for me to support.i know better next time...if you google " theft system in a chevy" there are nothing but complaints.there are also people giving advise on how to disable this because there is no way to start your car with this issue.i'm disgusted with chevy....shame on them!!!!!!! a car that thinks the owner is stealing it.....what a shame!

Having serious problems with the electrical systems of the vehicle.when headlamps are operating, the vehicle constantly experiences power surges.voltage meter will constantly drop when turn signals and/or other electrical equipment is on.have replaced the battery and replaced the alternator twice so far.vehicle has stopped running several times due to the power surges.at the point of trading the vehicle in for another suv (foreign model).

Interior lights come on at will.this can occur any time you are driving the vehicle or even if the vehicle is parked.ruined one battery and i've had to jump start the vehicle twice since battery was replaced.concerned that this may be a fire hazard.no one can seem to identify the problem.

The engine keep crashing down, the indicator say low engine pressure, check engine pressure, then the hole truck will shut down in the middle of producing. This happen three time already.im on the highway driving 80miland the truck will shut down, cant move the wheel, cantchange lines, cant restart the truck or anything. This has almost coast me life three time. What kind of safety shut down is that. I think it is very unsafe and needs to change or fix. I spent over 2,500.00 on my truck thinking the problem is fix, but it keep recurring. The chevy engineers guys just say that the prob cant be fix and my best bet is to get a new truck, or engine. I don't have money for that.

2012 malibu loses power steering and esc light comes on. Very dangerous. Don't think 2012 malibu is covered under recall 15356, but it should be . People will die ... Probably already have.

Chassis engine failed on single lane highway hill climb. Seemed like engine cut off allowing driver to quicklyturn into" hole in the wall "quick stop store parking area. Engine turned over but would not run. The consumer stated he experienced two parking brake failures within 3,000 miles of travel. Each repair, consisted of replacing switches and adjustments.the last repair consisted of the replacement of the drum associated with the brake pads, switches and wheel brake disc. It was also discovered that the park assembly had burned up, when the brake assembly failed to release. In addition, a 10 amp fuse had blown when a short was discovered in a pressure switch. The park brake assembly and both pressure switches were replaced. Updated ivoq 12/19/12the consumer stated while filling re-fueling the motor home, a passerby informed him gasoline was draining from the motor home. He quickly removed the hose and saw a large puddle of fuel under the gas tank. The consumer was not sure, where it was coming from, but it did appear to flow from a connecting pipe at the very rear of themotor home filling section and about 4 inches at the tank interface. The consumer stated themotor home is currently in storage. Updated 04/30/13

A loud rattling noise was coming from under the hood and the had no a/c.after looking under hood, found the belt had split in two.i replaced the a/c belt on a 2002 chevy suburban and after doing this, noticed the belt tensioner was rattling a great deal so replaced it.when i received the belt tensioner from the parts store, enclosed was a warning/alert message to refer to gm tbs # 03-01-38-019aafter reviewing this information, i don't understand why the customer should have to pay to replace the a/c compressor when they know it is a default on 17 vehicles from the years 2002 to 2004.i feel this should be chevy and gm's responsibility as i now will need to pay well over $1000.00 to fix something that was a known problem, yet nothing was done about it.i feel this is a danger to any driver if this is not fix because had the belt broke while i had been driving down the highway and also taken out the serpentine belt while driving, it could cause a significant accident for my vehicle to stop working in the middle of the highway.

Where should i start? purchased 03 trailblazer in 2/08 w/only 60,000 miles. Has been in shop 3 months..lost count of costs. A/c and heat not working properly..no hot air; clutch fan replaced; transmission slipping; engine cuts off while at stop-light. Should i go on? you would think w/only 60,000 miles on it--it was just getting broken in. I have never been so disappointed in a truck before..now i am stuck with the truck and its payment...no more money to repair and can't afford to trade in.

This is, as i have read elsewhere, a common problem with all gm vehicles using "dexcool" antifreeze. My '98 chevy express van had an intake gasket failure which allowed coolant into the engine oil and caused sludging and a restriction in the oil pump and near damage to the upper engine.luckily, it did not cause, or at least i don't think it caused permanent engine damage, however, it costed $1270 to repair. The dealer insisted there are no service bulletins or recalls for this problem but, through my own research, i am finding that this is a common occurence with vehicles using dexcool coolant. I feel thisintake manifold gasket failure was a direct result of gm's oversight in continuing to use the dexcool type antifreeze despite many reported problems with its compatibility in cooling systems.

Fuel pump issues is what i was told by someone that has worked on these automobiles with the same complaints but no resolution. The ongoing problems have been the car needing to be charged every so many days. I keep my vehicle up to date in every way and have replaced everything i can think of with fuel pump, batteries etc,.sparks could not seem to pinpoint the issue. Everyone i know that has this make and model has the same problems.

Driving at 30 mph, vehicle overheated.stopped van, turned it off, and then restarted after it had time to cool down.returned home driving at 20 mph (2.4 miles) with the vehicle overheating 3 times during that drive. Vehicle towed to service garage and found:fan blade brokenradiator core damaged-entire radiator replacedhead gaskets re-tooledthis has not recurred2.passenger side automatic sliding door has failed numerous times-would not close, and sometimes will not open.(this continues to recur)service center found:sensors needed replacedmotor needed replaceddrive belt replacedinside panel replaced3. Anytime i turn the air on in my 2005 chevy avalanche it makes a high pitch screaming sound. I have had two blower motors installed and it is in need of a third. This sound is still present even after i have had the new motors installed. I have had one mechanic say their is a crack in the plenum box and it would take 11 1/2 hours to repair and cost $ 1700. This is the only quote i have had so far. I have had it at the dealership where i bought it and they never seem to find anything, then again they seldom do anything right.

Bad/leaking manifold gasket......coolant leaks....causing water pump to burn out...replaced twice already....and coolant to get in with oil. Estimated repair cost > $700

Transmission failed in january of 2005 at 50,000 miles. Had it rebuilt for $3,000.00. Failed again at in august 2009 115,000 miles and at the same time the lower intake manifold gasket failed. Had it replaced and the gasket replaced for another $3,000.00. Still overheats in city traffic. Left radiator fan never comes on i have to run the heater to get the temp under control and i live in yuma, az. This van is a lemon and has cost me about $8,000.00 more than it should to own. Never again will i buy a gm product. They are criminals!

Replacing intake gaskets for 2nd time. 1st time at 55000 mi, 2nd at 85000 mi. Not aware of engine damage as of yet. Numerous complaints on this situation. Gm should be responsible for defect. Consumers need gov't to step in to pressure gm into resolving this situation.

Had two chevy silverados that develop intake and water pump gasket failure on a 4.3 liter engine.both develop coolant leak through the gasket. The latest was in november on my 2004 chevy silverado.upon checking the owners manual in regards to the dexcool coolant it clearly states that this coolant will burn if spill on a hot engine. It that the case thenwhy can it burn it the intake gasket fail and coolant is leaking in the engine.i had a 2000 chevy silverado with intake gasket failure and also a 2004 chevy with gasket failure. Bothvehicles i had repaired my concern it the gasket failure on these gm products vehicle that no one at chevrolet seems to care.both vehicles gasket failure occurred around the mid 60,000 miles range.i am concern about the failure of these gaskets that causing the coolant to leak.apparently thereis a problem with the gasket or the coolant that causing the gasketto fail.i would like someone to check into the problem of the gasket failure on gm products.especially the 4.3 literengines.i concern thataccording to the owners manual the dexcool coolant can burn on a hot engine then can it cause a fire on the engine while driving if the intake manifold gaskets and the water pump gasket keeps failing. I had two different year model chevy silverado with 4.3 liter engine, a 2000 and 2004 silverados where both engine got around 65,000 miles and the gaskets failed on both engine. No one can explain how this occurred. But there must be defect in the gasket design or the coolant is causing the problem.

I have had several engine stalls on my 1998 6.5 chevrolet diesel engine.the engine will quit as if the switch is turned off atrandom times and driving conditions.the danger that this poses in highway traffic can not be under stated.when the engine quits i also loose the power steering and braking making this a very dangerious situation.although i have not had a crash when this condition occurs, i have had several close calls and have read on internet web sites others that have not been so lucky.my truck is still under warranty but the dealerships are unable to fix the problem because (according to them) no error codes are received from the computer.the date listed below is the most resent failure of the engine.

S10 cannot pass emissions test in ma. Due to a latent defect that allows water,mud. And sludge to get into the air compressor, effecting the entire emissions system.a tech alert has been issued.dealerships both were i bought it and nearest to adders are a joke. I have spent over $1200 for new o2 sensors in tailpipe and main engine intake, now it is a new air pump and more defective sensors. At an estimate of over $1100.the truck otherwise runs fine. If it were not for emissions tests i would not be complaining.this is a gm design problem. The service engine light has been on for ever.who else can i contact?please , i cannot afford to drive to work w/o being in violation of the law.i am outraged by gm's total lack of support.

The fuel pump on my 2003 chevrolet suburban has failed. It seems that this has been a problem with these vehicles in the past. I wish i had known before. I bought the car used in 2005, with approximately 32,000 miles on it. The "throttle body module", "steering gear", dash cluster, and now fuel pump have all failed! this has made me very upset with the manufacturer. The vehicle now has 72,000 miles on it. I thought buying american was the right thing to do. Now i'm worried about my 2004 gmc sierra.

I was driving 55 mph on a state highway when the engine started revving up. The transmission quit while driving down the highway with only 63,000 milesthe transmission would engage but would slip out of gear around 45 mphthe dealer replaced the transmission at a cost of $2700.took 3 days 18000 miles later driving down a country road the transmission quit again. I was able to limp it home (60 miles) in first gear. The dealer said it was a rare occurence. The dealer rebuilt the transmission free of charge but it took 11 days the dealer said forward spring assembly broke?

Stopping the vehicle, the anti-lock brakes would kick in at around 3 to 5 miles per hour and the vehicle would not stop, would roll a few more feet. Almost hit a woman and child in cross walk, had to stand up on brakes. This not stopping happened 5 or 6 times, this was the came reaction as in 2005 recall, called gm. Gm chevrolet customer assistance center said, go and get this problem confirmed by a gm dealership, did oct. 9, '08 and they said corrosion build in same area, but because right front hub was replaced with a non gm part (after market part) they have no responsibility. This hub came with the sensor attached.in 2005 my 2002 chevrolet silverado was issued a recall for severe corrosion area between the front hub/bearing assembly and the wheel speed sensor. They found the left side sensor was missing an o-ring, they installed under the recall. The vehicle is doing the same thing and a local dealership service department confirmed this same corrosion problem. Called chevrolet customer assistance center oct 10, 08. Gm chevrolet customer assistance center called me monday oct, 20, '08 and said that once the recall was fixed, (how did they fix corrosion) the same problem is now my problem. When i dropped off the vehicle the brakes were bad, when i picked it up at the end of the day they were 10 time worse, really unsafe to drive. They did not charge me a dime, said that they would work it out with local rep.i will get the vehicle fixed, but how does this correct the problem?

Brake light switch out again. Had a recall on this in 2006. Matter was taken care of, but problems exists again. Called dealership and they said i am responsible for paying for the repair. Called customer assistance center through chevrolet and they told me the same as the dealership. I believe this is a malfunction that gm needs to own up to and repair for me and all other customers with this problem at no charge.

I bought my 2005 trailblazer in august 2008. In october 2008, the rear window hinge adhesive was separating causing the hatch to not close properly. This was replaced by the dealership. Now in september 2010 the same thing is happening. The rear window adhesive has completely disconnected from the hinge and the window does not close properly and has a possibility of completely falling off. When the entire rear door is opened now the hinge 'pops' up and hits the glass. The dealership is trying to find an appropriate adhesive to mend this problem and they say chevy will not pay for another glass replacement. The first replacement came from the factory with the hinge connected to the glass. This seems like a factory defect. I know there are other chevy vehicles of different years that have experienced this problem and worse when the doors did fall off or the glass scattered due to the poor adhesive on the hinge.this will cost over $800 to replace if this cannot be resolved and there is no guarantee theadhesive on the new glass will hold and i will have no recourse.

I buckled up my child's safety seat and it did not provide an anchor point on the back of the bench seat to be able to provide head support in an event of a crash. The rear seatbelt also did not provide a lock feature; therefore providing whiplash in the event of a crash or even cause the car seat to fall over on the left - out the back passenger window or to the right tipping on another passenger, causing injury.

I am unable to drive my 2004 chevy avalanche due to the hydraulic brake system going out which makes the power steering go out as well. Prior to the system going completely out it occasionally it would be hard to turn the steeri ng wheel upon starting up the vehicle i contacted the recall department in referenced to this but they stated that even though my vehicle is the year and model fitting the recall my vin does not fall in the batch. Why is this when i am having the problem which almost caused me to have an accident due to the brakes going out. Can this be rectified. I had the problem repaired but it started again.

I have aj 2002 chevy suburban w/144k miles on it.the fuel pump was replaced while still under warranty because if the fuel level got too low it would not start.in the last 3 months have had the intermittent shut off problem listed on other complaints.i have had it do it on rough roads and interstate highways.same thing, engine stops, wait 3-5 minutes engine starts, seems less prevalent when tank is full.dealership says chevy sees no overall problem with it, my mechanic tells me a new fuel pump is not too expensive but the real cost is the labor to take the fuel take off and replace it.total $900-1100, that is outrageous especially for a problem gm knows it has.

2004 chevy malibu was taken in due to power steering column and service car light coming on and clunking coming from car.had it in the first dealership first time notified me that it was the steering column $1500 later and it wasn't repaired.took back to same location.then they notify me that the same steering column was bad again and now my rack and pinion had to be replaced.$650.00.light again now loosing power steering had to take to another dealer.the first one notifies me by letter that i can not come back with my car.now i had to pay $52.00 to have the senor that are part of the steering column adjusted.that when i found out about the service notices.because this is not a recall the owner has to continue to pay.my car is a salvage however, that has nothing to do with the genuine gmc parts that have been installed not once but twice and guess what.the light has come on again.$2400.00 later and its not fixed.i have talked directly to gm and they are not going to help.the government needs to protect consumer from being taken to the cleaners from a manufacturer that knows there is a problem.

Safety hazard: 2006 chevrolet hhr , (& other years).inside door release handles, (plastic) break off.this can potentially place passengers & driver at risk of not being able to escape from the vehicle.from talking to other hhr owners, this is a very common problem with these cars.i have reported this to chevrolet customer service department, & was told that they were not aware of this being a problem..

I bought the 2002 trailblazer on february 2008 drove it for about a month and a half total the rest of the time it has been back to the dealership for repairs. Everything including the motor needed to be replaced, the transmission needs to be replaced just accelerated onto the gas heard a loud crack and the truck shook like an earthquake had hit, lost acceleration would not go any faster than 30-35 miles an hour and car would not disengage from neutral at first and the would not go into reverse., brakes have made a pulsation feeling and they were done days before i bought the vehicle and replaced again including rotors a month after i bought the vehicle, there have been too many crackling and metallic tinging noises that don't go away, the 4 wheel drive engages and disengages on it's own when driving 65-70 miles an hour.the steering wheel had a constant rubbing noise and dealer told me all of my complaints were nothing detrimental and basically blew me off. The truck jerks alot on it's own doesn't matter if i am in motion or if i put it into gear or park it jerks. I don't feel safe in this vehicle, it seems to be possessed. I am scared to death to drive it, so i have stopped driving it. I don't know what to do. My first car was a chevy and now this one, i will never own another chevy product. I don't know what to do, i don't want this. I fear my own and everyone else's life!!

Air bag warning of failure.cost for repair expensive!reason unknown.

This is the second time i will have to replace the torsion bar on this 1994 chevy astro awd van.the first time was about 4 years ago.i have done a search and there are hundreds if not thousands of reports of the torsion bars failing without warning, resulting in bottoming of the suspension.fortunately, it failed when i was parkedboth times it has failed but could have been devastating if i was on the highway.

Brake failure on june 21 2017, caused accident same accident on november 17 2017 and again on september 1 2019. I have had the truck in shop to be fixed numerous times... Abs sensor in front right wheel was supposedly bad. It did not fix problem bc 3 rd accident happened weeks after. 9/11/19 gm released recall for break failure due to the vacuum booster. My issue is exactly what gm had just announced. Chevy dealer and gm corporate both said there was nothing wrong with brakes but they still give out slowing down intermittently. Why isnt my vin associated with the most recent recall? because for 3 years no one believed me that the brakes were failing.. I lost months of my warranty and nothing was repaired bc they said they were in working condition and that there was no issues. Also at high speeds the truck shakes and/or vibrates, also told nothing was wrong, i have electrical issue that cause electronic screen to go out, they seen video of it happening but wont replace it unless it happens at dealership when i bring it. This truck has all issues pertaining to recalls but not according to vin#. The vehicle is not safe to drive. Issue are sporadic and intermittent with no warning. I have received tickets, points, and being sued bc of this . Lost out on months of warranty bc service centers were told not to work on it until gm corp did there investigation which they said nothing is wrong also.... Now finally the latest recall for break failure came out on 9/6/19 but my vin is not under it and must be because the recall is 100%accurate to what im experiencing with the brake failure. The pedal gets hard, or goes to floor increasing stopping distance... This is unsafe and dangerous on the road.somethjgn needs to be done

I have a 2004 chevy avalanche & the brakes went out. The problem was a rusty line on top of the frame under the drivers seat.., the way the wiring harnesses are placed mud & salt gets trapped on top to the frame & rusts out the brake line. This is the only area where the lines are attached so that the mud & salt cant get away from the brake line.., im sure there must be millions of trucks & suvs with this same problem... The lines are hidden & you can only find them by loosening the wiring harnesses & feeling with your fingers...

Ignition recall on 2006 equinox would come out of ignition. Did the recall and it still has problems now key has ahard time removing. This recall was suppose to fix the starting issuesand it did not had problems since sept 15 2012 when i purchased this car and my wife had to make several calls to get rides. And the tc abs system has problems with braking and several fixes still no help. I see to many complaints on this year and i have the same issues when are you going to go after gmac for not fixing these issues i am afaid of my wife getting into the car everery day. I am still financing the car am late on payments every time this happens i cant afford to pay for both people are getting hurt.

I have a 1992 chevroletsuv van.as i was driving west on i-10 approaching the intersection of i-49, driving at the posted speed on a slight incline the steering wheel came off the steering column. Luckily,i did nothing to brake; i let it slow down on its on.upon examination,i discovered the steeling wheel was mounted using a think plastic washer.this is an unacceptable design,the cpsc should investigate this design defect.i have photos to illustrate their defect if you need them.i will have to buy another steering wheel. I am the chief of ophthalmology at grady memorial hospital and associate professor at emory university in atlanta, ga.i have seen four patients in the past six months with severe eye lacerations secondary to another car hitting their side view mirror and the glass shattering from the mirror.these patients have suffered tremendously with multiple surgeries, loss of vision, and significant pain and deformity.i am writing to see if there are ways to mitigate the shattering of the side view mirrors so that they do not cause such severe bodily harm....from opththalmology: s5.2.2 mounting. The mirror mounting shall provide a stable support for the mirror, and neither the mirror nor the mounting shall protrude farther than the widest part of the vehicle body except to the extent necessary to produce a field of view meeting or exceeding the requirements of s5.2.1. The mirror shall not be obscured by the unwiped portion of thw windshield, and shall be adjustable by tilting in both horizontal and vertical directions from the diver's seated position.the mirror and mounting shall be free of sharp points or edges that could contribute to pedestrian injury. Parking brake wore out prematurely.

My car looses power at random times and a light comes on saying engine losing power. At that point i need to pull over off highway because there is no power. I have to get off road and stop car and then turn off key and restart car the check engine light stays on and i have brought it to dealer. Seven times the car has gone in and a repair is made but then it happens again. I am afraid to drive the car long distance or drive care with my children in the car.

Bad/leaking manifold gasket......coolant leaks....causing water pump to burn out...replaced twice already....and coolant to get in with oil. Estimated repair cost > $700

There are several different issues with this truck:1. The wheels are making a squeaking noise while driving; replaced brakes, rotors, had tires rotated, balanced and new alignment done with no help2. Brakes go to floor while braking..this just started 3. Back windshield wiper makes a loud noise and doesn't work...ever!4. Seat control gets stuck and won't move 5. No reverse light(s) and cannot figure out issue6. Final and biggest issue is that all the lights (including headlights) flicker both while driving and idling) i have had the alternator tested and replaced as well as the battery..still happeningi bought this truck december 8, 2007 used from a local dealer. I purchased a small warranty but one that won't cover anything mentioned above.if there are any recalls will someone please contact me!

Vehicle went into 4 low for no apparent reason and would not go back into 2 wheel drive and all the indicator lights were flashing erractically.took vehicle to dealer for repairs and was told it was not covered under warranty, still not resolved. I have a 2003 avalanche, i only have had the truck about a year. I truck have a shortage in the windows i have paid to have the windows fix, after they wherefix about two days later they tells me i have a shortage in something that's causing my passage windows and seats to stop working. My windows stop working about 3 months after i got the truck, they told me that the windows were not under warranty. I need to know what can i do about this i have talked to a lot of people who are having the same problems.i am scared that its going to start a fire, it keep shorten out my fuels in my fuel box under the hood.

The headlights on my 2014 chevrolet silverado have a lot of condensation on the inside of the lights that is causing the headlight bulbs to blow. The exterior of the lights are made of plastic which i consider inferior. I contacted gm @ this and they offered to pay @ 1/10th of the repair cost. This is unacceptable. This is a major safety flaw that they need to repair free of cost to the consumer. There are multiple cases on you tube with others with the same problem. My vehicle is always garaged and only has @ 25000 miles. Please investigate this as it could and probably has caused accidents with the headlamps going out while driving at night by not being able to see. This is serious.

After this replacement, this vehicle will have had four (4) fan (blower) motors and it's resistors. The fan becomes inoperative except wide open ( number 4). It shows some evidence of overheating when it is removed. There does not seem to be an explanation for these multiple failures.additionally, the window motors for the electric windows are arcing badly enough so that the armatures on the motors can no longer operate. After repair, the condition returns within months to the same condition.there appears to be the danger of an electrical condition that could result in a fire.this has occurred in 2007, 2008, and again in 2010.

Electrical door locks fail and could trap a person in the vehicle. All four locks fail to operate either in the lock/unlock position and could preclude the persons in the vehicle from exiting that vehicle in an emergency. At present the repair facilities is recommending that all electrical lock mech be replaced with new ones..i find it hard to belief that all could fail at one tome there is something else causing that failure.

Noticed first the cruise control had stopped working, then was informed by a friend that i had no brake lights. While searching for replacement parts online, i noticed a recall notice for my vehicle from nhtsa(09v310000), but that parts will not be available until june 2010. I contacted chevrolet and was told that there are no open recall notices on my vehicle. At this time i have not replaced the defective part.

On 11/14/07 i purchased a "02 trailblazer from salisbury chevrolet, in scotia, ny.on december 21, 2007 i had the transfer switch replaced because the 4wd would randomly switch from 2wd to 4lo or awd. I never had to use the 4wd last winter, snow falls weren't that bad. Went to switch it on this year on 12/19 and come to find out that my 4wd was not functioning. Took it the dealer and it will cost me $600 to repair. The "service 4wd" light never came on.

2011 chevy equinox navigation unit defaults to washington and clocks resets hours off regular time everytime you turn on the car. Others complaining about same problem and supposedly dealers have a nav software update for a fee. I believe consumers shouldn't pay for a fix on a widespread defective product. Same problem reported on gmc terrain.

1. There were no significant events leading up to this. 2. The locks on the doors to not automatically unlock and lock.the actuator is failing. Happens approx. Every 2 years. This is on a 2008 chevrolet tahoe.3. Actuator must be replaced at the cost of the vehicle owner.

The backup camera started acting up when i had approx. 30 miles on the vehicle.when i backed into my driveway after leaving the dealer, a picture of the dealers lot came on the screen.i put it in park then reverse again the same picture of the dealers lot came up again.this happened 2 more times.then the camera switched tothe correct picture of my driveway.the picture was now distorted.almost like there was water in the lens.i have been back to the dealer 3 times for the problem.they replaced the camera twice.they took a picture of the problem and sent it to chevy.the mechanic even told me he checked other similar vehicles on the lot and there was a problem with mine.i was then notified there was nothing they could do about it, that's just the was it is.the camera was not distorted when i first picked up.it's dangerous almost 1/3 of the camera is distorted

1. Rain 2. Wiper motor, whenever i use the wipers, wiper arm sticks and wont return to normal position, and sometimes goes all the to the left and hangs up on side of truck, causing me to have to push the arm back onto windshield and then push it down to its home position.3. I will have to replace the wiper motor.

I purchased a new 2001 chevy crew cab 2500 hd truck in august 2001. The truck now (oct 2010) has 50,300 miles on it and has been maintained and serviced regularly. At approximately 20,000 miles i had to replace both rear rotors and brakes, then at approximately 36,400 miles i had to replace both front rotors, brakes and the alternator. At approximately 40,000 miles the drivers door power window motor had to be replaced and all the brake lines and speed sensors on the truck had to be replaced. Now with 50,300 miles, the truck is sitting in my drive way needing another alternator and the rear brakes / rotors are worn out again. Since i purchased this truck i have already spent approximately $2800 on brakes, brake lines, wheel / speed sensors and new rotors and replaced the alternator and power door motor. The truck has stranded me two times when the brakes failed and once when the alternator went out. It appears that the dealerships and gm know about these problems but just try to get them past the warranty period. When i had to replace the front rotors i offered to have the metal / rotors analyzed to determine why they failed but gm wasn't interested. They paid half on that repair and requested that i leave the rotors with the dealership. I was lucky both times when the brakes failed because we were going slow and on rural roads with minimal traffic, the other time the truck stranded us wecamping on a holiday weekend and the alternator went out when we were about 10 miles from the camp. Thesetrucks entire brake systems are very dangerous. I think that there needs to be a technical review conducted to evaluate the materials used for the rotors and the brake lines. When my brake lines were replaced they crumbled like flakes of rust and the rotors both front and back were damaged from what appeared to be overheating. There were surface stress flaws on both sides of the rotors. I have owned other gm products, and currently have a 1997 chevy truck with no brake issues.

Spare tire carrier cable on 2007 silverado rusted through causing the spare tire and carrier assembly to drop onto road while traveling.this carrier had previously been replaced under warranty approximately two years ago.

The brakes and specifically the locking hub conversion kits sold by the ram man inc are unsafe and are failing under normal condition.june 6, 2016i didn't test out the hubs before installing them. Installed the kit 1 week ago (may 31, 2016) i never put the truck into 4wd to see if they locked in but could manually see that the wheels didn't spin the cv axil when unlocked. While driving, i was caught in some sand and sought to put the truck back into 4wd.however, after locking the hubs i discovered that even when locked the wheels would not spin.upon further inspection while locked, the drive shaft would spin but it wouldn't spin the cv axil connected to the wheels.i believe that there was a weak spot where the hubs were machined causing the supplied axil to break off.while the problem never occured while driving, and there was no sound to indicate that the product broke while the hubs were locked, the product failed and is no longer useable. What would you like done?i would like a full refund or working product as i believes that i was shipped a bad cv axil from the start.essentially, the product was machined incorrectly causing it to fail when needed. Despite putting the hubs in 4wd drive, the hubs do not lock and leave the vehicle in 2wd.

I bought brakes from auto zone back in feb. 2009, had to replace them in aug. 2009, they are still givien me problems my sbs light keeps coming on. These brakes are defective they wear down too fast and are not up to spec on the newer vehicles. I had factory brakes on for 3 yrs with no problems. Sometimes i wonder if i will stop with these auto zone brakes.

My chevy 2005 z71- tahoe had it's windshield wipers replaced at the gm dealer. Two metal rivets extending through the wiper blade attach it to the long wiper arm. The rivets broke and wiper blade assembly came off wiper arm at slow speed in a heavy rain.

2001 silverado.....my only problem with my truck is the service 4wd light. The problem is the electronic transfer case shift motor. The part runs a little over $100. I can't afford the part right now, but it doesn't affect my daily driving, just when i need 4x4 which isn't often living in oklahoma. Still runs and drives like a brand new truck.

My 2006 chevrolet tahoe. While driving approximately 35 mph the traction activation light illuminated and the vehicle failed to move forward no matter how hard the accelerator pedal was engaged. The sensor could have caused the vehicle to hesitate. The vehicle has not been taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was started at 20,300 miles the 1 st time and at 45,256 i took it to the dealer and they said it was nothing wrong no recalls on this item.

Failure of front wheel hubs on 2000 silverado 2500. Replaced both shortly after purchase of truck about 14 months ago. After about a year both are worn out again. One has extreme play. Completely stock truck. On road use only. About 5000 easy miles on the hubs. Seems that one is close to falling apart. The other is on the way. Because of the excess play braking is compromised as well as stability.not sure what brand they are. The ac has never worked . Took it to coutesy chevy 3times. Still dose not work. Had to replace the wheel bearings. Took it there 2 times 4 that. Had 2 rebuild the transmission once . And now its acting up 10,000 miles later. This is a 2006 chevy silverado that i paid 25,000 $ for only 2 years ago.

Was driving north on i-77 at 65 mph. At about exit 33, my brakes failed with complete loss of braking power and several warning lights illuminated (stability track and other warning lights i don't remember). Once i was safely off of the road (using gears to reduce speed) and shut off car and turned on car the brakes were working again. This is the only time this has happened with my car. My car was recently services and brake fluid levels were normal.i drive a 2008 chevy tahoe hybrid and this type of issue has been reported on forums related to this make/model of car. Firestone was able to see an electronic fault on the computer (i drove to the nearest place that could provide service) but chevy was unable to find a code (randy marion chevy in mooresville, nc).

Recently on my 2001 chevy tahoe the liftgate glass hinge separated from the molding (appeared to be glued) causing the liftgate window glass to become unsafe since it is now held onto the car by only one rubber hinge bracket and defog wire. The glass in the liftgate will not close and could easily become separated from the car while in motion making the car in operable. The chevy dealer had seen the problem before but since there is no recall on it my only recourse was to purchase a new rear liftgate window at a cost of nearly $1200. I believe this is a serious design defect.please accept this as an official complaint of record on this vehicle.

Emergency brakes fail inspection every year since i owned the vehiclefrom normal wear and tear. I have them worked on every year to pass state requirements, costing lots of money.

"abs fault" reads on my dash in my 2005 chevy colorado. Have had my truck in and out of the chevy dealership 5 times already. Have had the wheel speed sensor replaced costing me a pretty penny of over 300 dollars and come to find out it was not the cause of the issue. Has been checked over and over by the dealership computer reader and each time has come up with nothing causing the issue and has not been fixed. Problem occurs everytime i drive the vehicle normally as soon as i turn the vehicle on and the causing the abs to run automatically on a dry surface making it very hard to stop when needing to. I am fed up with the problem and request it to be fixed. Yet to be done!

Faulty fuel gauge and fuel pump 2000 chevrolet silverado 1500 . Fuel gauge has not been working for years. Decided to have it repaired along with fuel pump.

2001 chevy 2500 hd trucks ( front wheel hub assemblies) loosing up under normal driving conditions. These are sealed hub units so you must purchase brand new ones at a cost of over $500-700 per unit. I have had both sides losing up on me and now the replacement is now loose again after 30,000 miles. To test this you must jack the wheel off the ground and push/pull on the wheel it will rock back and forth as if its ready to come off the wheel assembly. I was a mechanic for 9 years so im not your average driver who would not notice items such as this. I take better care than most for my trucks and see this as a major safety factor for all other chevy trucks on the road. Note: this was an experimental hub they used for only a couple of years. Now they went back to the actual bearing nut that you can tighten if loose....seem strange huh? maybe they know something and tried to keep it under the table???

1999 chevrolet s10 driveworks steering inner tie rod end part no. Dw-es3380t. Right against the front cross member on my 1999 s10.this could cause binding in the steering. Could cause truck to crash. Economy inner tie rods are wrong but professional grade inner tie rods are correct. This is a problem at many parts stores and online part stores (advance auto, auto zone, rockauto, etc.) i believe this could cause serious injury or death.

Paint started pealing off of my 2006express 3500 chevrolet van and as of jan. 2016 the paint is coming off in sheets.just about every chevy van you see is doing the same???

The number of traffic accidents, injuries & deaths on i-75 & i-475 due to the construction zones is staggering. Poor design of traffic in the zones & complaints to odot with nothing done is irresponsible! i was rear ended in the zone, car totaled & me injured/ on disability from work. I hear the same location of my accident east i-475 & promedica accidents 1 to 2 times per day. You cannot have a short merge ramp onto i-75! you cannot have traffic stopped on major highways regularly due to poor design of the traffic pattern! multiple accidents on i-75. I hear 1 to 2 more deaths this morning on i-75 in the construction zone.. All the construction zones on the highways need to be better engineered!something needs done immediately & someone held responsible!

Keep replacing my wipers blade and wires, don't know if it been recall or there something wrong, it unsafe to drive in the rain, it don't want to work. 1998 tahoe chevy.

06cobalt power steering.

No warning, complete driveshaft failure causing $6000 damage. Drive shaft changed from chevrolet 2 piece to 3 piece. Manufacture of motorhome and company doing the drive shaft changes refused to help. Also frame cut and welded to make longer, bad weld job coming apart.

Windshield wipers deosn't work i have had it in twice now to fix the reaccuring problem

Experiencing issues filling gas tank in hot weather traveling to bar harbor maine from new bedford ma distance of approx 335 miles on july 10 2011 stopped to gas up in bar harbor me took me approx 10 minutes to put in 10 gallons of gas my tank was not filled up. Hose nozzle kept on shutting put the nozzle various positions no good, inserted nozzle partially in was able to see fuel backing up fuel was gurgling began to come out of the fuel filler neck stopped fueling. Nextday not traveling to far vehicle weather cool was able to fill 11 gallons of gas with no problem. Happen this past march in fl this is notfirst time has happened, happened several times since owning vehicle found driving especially outside temperature is hot long distance it will do this i do not overfill tank had my chevroletroadtrek checked at two chevrolet dealerships within two weeks they scanned vehicle for any stored codes command tested vent valve is operating both dealers agree problem is with the conversion as gas tank fuel neck, length of gas line was modified by roadtrek vehicle raised inspected possibly have kink bend in filler hose and or vent line not visible due tank bracketry added to underside of vehicle fuel filler neck originally in center of vehicle now at end of vehicle fuel filler hose and vent lines go from very rear of vehicle up to tank now located up front lines all benddip also go up and curve i am not the first owner to have this problem there have been others owning a chevrolet-roadtrek express 3500 extended conversion camper van with same issue they were unable to see mid section lineage due to tank my selling dealer campers inn raynham ma has been very helpful have not heard from roadtrek regarding a fix as i have been informed they are aware of this problem with other roadtrek owners and they have a fix i am concerned that an explosion fire could happen with when fueling.

My 2007 tahoe is a piece of ?!@#$%. Since i got the truck it has been in and out of the shop. My gas gage floats i can start out atof a tank and it will go up toof a tank. The dealership has changed multiple parts and can not seem to fix it. The blower in the air conditioner went out that had to be replaced as well. My service light came on and another part had to be replaced. I would have to say that my truck has been in the shop at least 30 days. I would not buy another gm vehicle. The dealership was so quick to sell me the truck, not that quick to help me.i have picture and video with time and date of to gas gauge floating. My gas gage is the recurring problem, the dealership has changed multipr parts.

I have a recall about brake line hose ,but last november my brake line hose was cut with the wheel i call gm motor about this problem. If can getrefund or change wheel sizei try to replace wheels to expense i think gm need to replace for free to next size due to close to the wheel.

Repeated diesel injection pump failures. Twice within 40,000 miles. Part is acknowledged by general motors as being defective but repairs were performed differently in second instance of repair. I was informed that fuel system flush and lift pump replacement were mandatory repairs to facilitate warranty repairs on diesel injection pump. The fuel system flush and lift pump replacement were not performed in first repair and conclusion is that this neglect created second pump failure. Gm has refused to refund $1100.00 repair cost.*la

Normal everyday driven, fuel gauge never works. Starts on empty and goes to full and back again, dealer not covering this item.

Chevrolet p-30 chasiss auto brake system double failure3/8/02 and 10/22/02. Replaced pressure switch and leaking solenoid in first case and pump, pressure switch and relay the second time.auto park would not engage and vehicle would roll away by itself.

Total loss of front end/abs/hub assembly units both sides, bearings/ rear rotors/pads and calipers. Also, slipping of 4-wheel drive switch into another gear, these have been replaced just 3 years ago and have let go again!!!!!!!

Front seatbelt on 1995 chevy silverado truck is defective but dealer cannot replace it because the part is discontinued. Junkyards and dismantlers do not have it because the truck is "too old."

Emergency brakes fail inspection every year since i owned the vehiclefrom normal wear and tear. I have them worked on every year to pass state requirements, costing lots of money.

I bought this 1998 chevy suburban 2500 new.i have had trouble with the brakes since day 1.the dealership sent it to a local specialist and paid to have it fixed (grape engeering in gr mi) it still does not work right.the abs deployes in correctly at many stops.it is a danger.

While driving over a bridge with anti-lock brakes applied when i ran over an expansion joint in the bridge the brake pressure went completely away and i had no braking power. This has happened several times also when hitting bumps in the roadway with the brakes applied. Called a chevrolet dealer and was told this is common. Had an independent mechanic check braking system and was told the anti-lock system was not going to work even if we spent the $2700.00 gm wanted for all new components to the system. I cannot come to a fast stop with this braking system, yet my old truck ( a 1978 chevy k-10 silverado ) never once had a braking problem. This newer truck ( a 1998 k-2500 silverado ) has had nothing but brake problems. I have also been told that many, many mechanics all over the country are disconnecting the abs systems and their customers are really much happier and safer. If you cannot stop and you hit someone because the brakes are not functioning properly then i would say we have a problem.

On my way back from a trip towing my horse trailer the brake pedal was beginning to get a little soft. When i got into my driveway the brake pedal went to the floor. Since i was traveling very slowly i was able to stop without hitting anything. My husband and i inspected the truck and found brake fluid leaking from the frame rail in front of the left rear wheel. We are having the leaking corroded metal brake line replaced at this time. We asked the mechanic to save the part.

1998 chevrolet pickup 1500 series, rear brake line ruptured due to rust, extremely unusual for an automobile of this age without exposure to corrosive road conditions.no consequenses other than unexpected and unwarrented repair costs.

Driving on the road, applied brakes, brake pedal went to floor, vehicle stopping distance was long. Stopped vehicle, checked brake reservoir. Fluid was down. Went around vehicle and found brake fluid leaking from frame rail forward of left rear wheel.problem was broken corroded metal brake line. I had it replaced. I didnot retain the old part.

2012 malibu loses power steering and esc light comes on. Very dangerous. Don't think 2012 malibu is covered under recall 15356, but it should be . People will die ... Probably already have.

This is a description of a potential safety hazard:as you might know, c5 chevrolet corvettes (1997-2004) have a problem with the steering-column lock malfunctioning and leavcing owners stranded. I know of several owners thus affected, and they have had to have their cars towed. Gm has known about this problem but has refused to issue a recall and fix the protential problems; they are handling each one individually to save money.my concern is that i could end up far from home or in a bad section of town when the steering column locks up. If i don't have a bad accident, i will surely be stranded.i would like to know, if gm has known about this problem since 1997, why haven't they addressed the issue yet?since the aftermarket has responded with a steering-column-lock bypass, i feel that gm should authorize a dealer to install it without voiding the warranty. Further, why did gm eliminate the steering -column lock on 2001 automatics, but not on the manual-transmission models? i would hope you could strongly urge gm to address this very real issue.i really love my corvette, but no car is worth risking becoming an accident/breakdown statistic.sincerely,[xxx]1998 chevrolet corvette automatic[xxx]

Front steering components; premature wear

Noticed our 2000 vventure van is rusting around the back of the sliding door and back wheel well...other friends that same similar year and model have the same issue.

Door handle broke on inside driver side! have to roll down window to open door! this is the second time this has happened! the parts are made of plastic!

Our 1998 chevy blazer with 60,000 miles # 1gndt13w3w228738 had a problem with the ball joints.they were not fail safe.luckily the car was only moving at 5 miles an hour entering a parking garage when the upper ball joint on the right front wheel disintegrated causing the driver to lose control of the steering.the part had never been lubricated either by us, the previous owner (we bought it off a lease 2 years ago) or even the chevy dealer where we had the last oil change done in august of 2003.had this occurred on the highway at high speed there certainly would have been injuries to us or other drivers.there were no signs of the ball joints failing - no unusual tire tread wear, no difficulty steering.we noticed while steering that the front wheels felt loose, but dealer assured us at oil change in august that everything was fine.we have replaced all 4 ball joints, however this part is not fail safe.the service dept. At chevy dealer said themselves that they have seen many ball joint failures now that these cars are getting older.although we understand that the ball joint needs to be lubricated, the service dealer did not notice the problem, nor had they lubricated it at the last oil change, nor is the part fail safe.

Wheel fell off after i got tires put on at sam's club.

I own a chevrolet 1998 crew cab pickup truck, and have a factory installed towing package.in august of this year i was towing a small ski boat, considerably less weight than the max allowed by the manufacturer, when the towing mechanism buckled, and disengaged from its housing on the truck. If not for the spare tire on the trailer, which supported the trailer, preventing it from striking the ground, i am sure i would have lost the trailer, and possibly my truck.i took the truck and disfigured towing mechanism to chevy, who responded with "too bad".no attempt to determine the cause, nor offer replacement was made.i ended up having a new towing package installed by a third party.

The spare tire fell off of the truck because the very thin cable that holds it up broke and might have caused an accident on i 95.

There were no incidents leading to the failure of the windshield wipers on my 1998 chevrolet blazer. They simply do not operate when it rains, which has become quite a hazard, especially during sudden rain, while driving the vehicle in traffic!while i have incurred no accidents due to this failure, i've had to stop in traffic, during inclement weather, as i could not see to maneuver the vehicle safely.

We own a 1998 s10,chevrolet pickup. Several times over the last three years the windsheild wipersquit while driving. A few moments later they will start working again. This is extremely intermittent! i took the truck to the local gm dealer but they said it was not listed in the recall for a windsheild wiper problem and would cost roughly $400 dolarrs to replace the pulse module. I understand that gm in canada recalled several vehicles for this same problem. Also i understand that several owners of this particular truck in the us has had the same problem. My question? is gm responsible and has this been been done to alert gm?
