Model:weld racing road hawk rimsage:about 4 years oldtype: 2 piece aluminum rimsi took a 400 mile, 1 way each, trip from san jose, ca to los angeles, ca and 2 of my 4 rims developed hairline cracks which leaked air...how can this happen to 2 of 4 rims?they must be defective...this is what i wrote to the rim manufacturer, weld racing, inc.i wrote to you last week regarding one of my rims having a hairline fracture and losing air from this cracksyou replied with a typical 3 year warranty comment.i live in san jose and took a trip last week down to los angeles in my 1999 suburban having 1 rim possible, but on my way home on saturday, a 2nd rim developed a hairline fracture and also lost air from the fracture i don't believe this is just bad luck.2 out of 4 rims developing hairline cracks just because i took a 800-1000 mile round trip ride in about 100-108 degree weather???i understand the warranty policy but 2 out of 4 rims developing hairline cracks???i bought my suburban used so i am not the original owner but weld racing should be concerned anyway about their products and the safety of them.if you not concerned, let me know and i will pursue the various bulletin boards, etc. And see if this is happening to others.
