The contact owns an alpena muffler tail pipe extension (150203 ) which was equipped on a 1998 bmw z3 roadster. The contact was driving 70 mph when the tip detached from the tail pipe, causing the exhaust to melt the bumper from the extreme temperature. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that the tip had been installed improperly but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 58,000. Updated 08/11/12 updated 09/18/2012
