I own a 1999 jeep grand cherokee laredo and the fuel pump went bad and i could smell smoke, like and electrical problem.the mechanic said it was the fuel pump and i authorized him to repair.i then looked online to find that the fuel pump which my jeep had was a recalled aftermarket fuel pump from airtex.i called airtex and they gave me the run around asked me all sorts of questions , are you sure this is the right oneand did i have the part to ship back to them.i called the mechanic and he already replaced it with a new airtex fuel pump and threw the other away.i have the receipt but cannot send the old fuel pump back.they refuse to reimburse me for this recalled product even when my mechanic wrote down the old make and model number of the old recalled fuel pump.this is wrong and unfair.$500 i am out .
