I purchased 4 new michelin tires at a dealership (pit stop) in englewood, fl 34224 in april of 2007. Great tires. While traveling to our summer home in vermont in may of 2008, we were in poughkeepsie, ny at a red light when a motorist told me i had a tire going flat. After pumping it up i stopped at my brothers home over night. The next am i replaced the tire with a spare, went to a tire outlet and they determined that the valve stem had broken. I had it repaired and went to vermont. We left 2 days later for a grandsons college graduation in maine. While at another red light another motorist told us we had a tire going soft. Thank god for him!again we put the spare on and traveled to our destination (about 75 miles!) i took the faulty tire to a tire warehouse in unity, me the next am. Again it was determined that another faulty (broken) valve stem had caused the problem. This time however, the tire was ruined and we had to purchase another one. (cost $202.00!)returning to vermont for the summer, several weeks later, while entering the vehicle in the early am i noticed another flat, this time on the rear of the vehicle. Put spare on, took faulty tire to a dealership and again it was determined that it was another valve stem. I finally got smart and had the other rear tire removed and replaced the valve stem. All of the valve stems were from the "consumer safety report for september 2008" showing problems with "valve stems fromchina: models tr-413, tr-413ch, tr-414, tr-415, tr-418 and tr-423, made between july 2006 and november 2006. Not having saved the first 2 faulty valves, i did save the last 2 and they were the "tr-413 models", so i assumed all were from the same lot and models! needless to say, we were not happy travelers with so many problems. I do intend to contact the pit stop dealership and ask for remuneration of at least the cost of the new tire when we return to our home in florida.thank you for your concern.r. Osevt. # 8028933336
