I bought my 2004 acura tsx car in jan 2008 a few months later after i bought itthe interior lighting of my radio and a/c buttons were not turning on anymore my warranty was already over and ever since i have been trying to find a solution or a recall.
99 acura tl, single owner, routine maintenance followed by the book.had ignition switch replaced after recall in 2002.3 months ago at about 165,000 engine started cutting off while driving.had it check by two places but neither had a solution. Started using gas treatments and did not have any further problems until yesterday.driving on the highway middle lane, the car cut off (9:00pm) had to cross 4 lanes of traffic to get to the emergency lane while coasting - very scary dodging 18wheelers.made it to the side tried to start, would not start.waited 5 minutes, started again and moved about 100 feet towards an exit before it cut off again.repeated process this time made it to the exit and waited for spouse.my spouse drove the car home no problem.next morning trying to go to work car shut down on the highway again after traveling about 5 miles from my house.tried to get it back home to a goodyear by the house.it cut off 8 times during that time.goodyear analyzed it and said it looked like the ignition switch.called acura and was told if i already had the repair another repair would not be covered and acura was the only one that could determine that the ignition switch was indeed the problem.i cannot risk driving 45 miles to the nearest dealership just for them to tell me that the ignition switch is not the problem.
The car will make a vibration sound at random intervals. It does not matter what speed you are driving at or the type of road. Additionally, it feels as though you are being pushed back by the wind when the vibration sound occurs. At this time no work has been completed on the car for the new noise. One repair shop concluded that it was the entire transmission that needed to be replaced. Another place feels it is the torque converter. The torque converter was already replaced once on this car due to a different noise. The car had to go to the shop three times to fix the first noise. The car was finally repaired after a week and after a new timing belt, tensioner and pulley, which had already been replaced. They also replaced the drive shaft, idler pulley and compressor belt .
I had a total of 6 transmissions replaced in my acura tl 2000 3.2 liter. Why is toyota getting so much press and trouble and honda didn't. Honda wouldn't address the issue and my resale value was horrible. I encountered the problem after buying the car at 14,000 miles. I am considering sending this to abc news. They wanted the story a couple of years ago when i e-mailed them. I think i will follow up now. Why do toyota owners get help but acura owners do not. The recommendations by your agency didn't protect acura owners from potential deadly consequences nor financial losses. I spent thousands of dollars on this problem. Your remedy was insulting and the lawsuit was a joke.
I am very worried that the "new technology" headlights are damaging my eyes and the eyes of all drivers.the halogen lamps were never intended to be shined into the eye.lamps purchased for illumination at home have the specific instruction to avoid looking at the bulb.why then is it ok to blind me with them on the highway?the burning sensation is a quick and easy way to tell that they are not safe.everyone with whom i have discussed this says that they have the same problem (well over 30 individuals at work).so it would seem that the safetypeople are there to sit on the sidelines and wait for everyone to go blind before they do anything.i thought that the reason for bright and dim headlights was for cars to safely pass each other without creating an unsafe situation.now, however, i feel more worried about hitting someone else because i have been blinded by a yuppie with his halogen lighted suv.
Honda had supposedly under a hidden warranty swapped out the automatic transmission in my car. After driving the car about the same amount of time before the transmission failed the first time, identical problem has recurred.i was driving on the freeway when all of a sudden d4 on the dash starts blinking and i could only drive to 3rd gear. When i turn the car off and restart its ok until i drive for a few minutes. Randomly the car will rev but the car won't go forward until it jerks violently and catches gear. Numerous occasions i was almost rear ended. I took it to the dealer but they are telling me they will not uphold the safety recall for this issue because my mileage was over. Technically after the first repair in the same amount mileage the transmission failed but they told me from the purchase of the car i am over the mileage.

Was traveling on i-20 with family and transmission in 2003 acura type s just blew out with no warning traveling seventy miles an hour. Coasted to side of interstate and had to get out and push car further out of harms way. Hot transmission fluid created smoke from engine compartment and left us stranded sixty miles from home. New transmission was installed in this vehicle in 2007 at dealership with 50,000 miles on it and now it goes out again with about 50,000 miles on it. Dealer would only give ten percent towards goodwill fix paid thirty two hundred out of pocket. This year and model was involved in a lawsuit in california but the vin number on my car as well as numerous others was not included but should well have been. Acura service manager told me this is a weak product but that was putting it mildly after getting on the internet and reading all the consumer complaints on this exact model and year across the country. These transmissions are still defective and should be replace by honda for free. Consumers are trading and getting rid of the cars because they feel they are a safety threat to their family. My daughter was driving us to a graduation when this happened and it scared her to death happening at that speed on the interstate. This product is well documented as being a piece of crap but consumers like me have no recourse butsuffer the loss and hope for the best out of the next transmission. When people have to put three and four transmissions in a car with a hundred thousand miles on it somebody needs to step in and protect the consumers. I would like to know what difference was made during the vin number on my car and same models before itthat were covered under the lawsuit. Evidently the same transmission problems still existed in all these models. Just read all the threads on www.carsurvey.org/reviews/acura/tl/r71264/comments.
While driving down the highway at legal speed limit of 70 mph, the sun roof detached from my 1996 acura integra and landed somewhere behind the car on the highway.i was in traffic and could not stop immediately to see what happened to the sun roof.the sun roof was original equipment and held in place by an adhesive only.to my knowledge, no car or person was hit by the detached sun roof, but it could have caused a serious accident.
On 6/29/09, i was parked in a stripmall . When i started the car, i shifted to d4,and,before i put my foot on the gas pedal, the car accelerated to 3000 to 4000 rpm and moved forward.i braked the car and put it in neutral.the acceleration continued until i put it back into d4.that stopped the acceleration.this had happened about a year ago, but i was stopping the car when it accelerated to 3000 rpm and lurched forward.again i put in neutral, then d4 which stopped the acceleration.i took the car both times to the dealership.they could not determine the cause even after extensive testing.i called corporate acura this time, but, they maintain they have never had this problem with their legend model.it has happened intermittently, but not to the degree as above.it is difficult to duplicate the event as it is a random occurrence.the dealership feels that, due to the close configuration of the brake and gas pedals, maybe i accidentally touched both without realizing it.i am writing to you to see if an incident of this type has ever been reported to you and if any remedies are possible. Torque converter shudder and vibrate between 35-40 mph.
The contact owns a 2002 acura mdx.while parked in the driveway, the contact noticed that the front passenger side tire was flat.he attempted to change the tire by placing a jack underneath the vehicle and raise it in order to replace the tire.after removing the tire to replace it, the jack failed and the vehicle collapsed.the dealer advised the contact to call the manufacturer.the manufacturer was notified, issued a case number, and stated that they would investigate the failure.the equipment information was unavailable.
My business purchased two brand new 2002 acura vehicles, a cl and a tl in sept. Of 2001. The transmission on our tl was replaced 4 times free of charge because all of the transmissions on these make/models are bad and when they go out acura promised to replace them as long as we were the original owner. We traded in the tl years ago, but i kept the cl. When my first transmission went out on the cl it was replaced free of charge. Now the second transmission is going out and acura is saying that i have to pay for 1/2 the price of the replacement. I told them that was ridiculous that they gave me a trans that they knew was going to go out and now they expect me to pay for their bad product??my husband was a master mechanic for acura for 10 years and knows that acura rebuilds these bad trans and replaces them w/ other rebuilt bad trans.they knowingly gave me a bad product and now expect me to pay for it?? i was told that as long as i was the original owner that they will replace these trans free of charge. Now i have an unsafe/a car that is not going to sell car.. Can you please help me? thank you..
I have a 2007 acura tl type s..a couple of month after purchasing the vehicle while driving to work one daymy fuel system light came on stating that i need to check my gas cap..so i pulled over and make sure that my gas cap is tight which it was..so i shut off the vehicle and restarted it again. The light was still on.. So i decide to take the car to the dealer each time i take it there .. I get the ar back the assurance that i would not happen again..till this day the problem still exist and i had spoken to other type s owners and they are having similar problem with their acura tl type s vehicles.
