The frame that the dutchman 5th wheel trailers sit on is not safe, i wish i could get the pictures to you ! i my axles made a 45 degree turn under my trailer,i have a 2005 grand junction 37qsl, this trailer was built in nov 2004, and i purchased it in may 2005, with very few miles pulled (approx: 10,000 miles),here's my story, we were pulling to a camp ground on a friday night and when i was pulling in my trailer axels broke loose throwing my unit into a ditch and a steel post. Which caused extensive damage ($19500.00) it pulled a rip starting from the door to the rear end.on the following monday morning, i called dutchman, and i told them what had happened and they said that i should call lippen trailers, that they would only be a go between and they would not be responsible for the frame and axels. I asked if they would send out some new hangers, again they said i needed to go to lippen mfg. The dutchman trailer is only warrented for 12 months, but the frame is warrented for 24 months from the date of mfg. Which in both cases i'm out of warrenty. The hangers broke off smooth where the wells were, three of them broke and one of the equalizers.lippen mfg. Said they could not help out because i was out of warrenty, that their warrenty was from date of mfg. And even if i was in warrenty they would not know what type of roads i had traveled on(us highways only). They also told me they only provided the type of trailer that their customers ordered, (dutchman).lippen mfg. Stated that they have a kit that should be put on to stop the flexing of the hangers. I was never notified of this improvement it was not until the following friday that i got the parts to get back on the road, at which time i had to find a local welder to put the parts on, if i can i will post pictures on the hangers, but i don't know how.
