The five-point restraint harness strap that comes from the back of the seat over the child's shoulder detached itself from the metal hook while the car seat was installed in the car.i had my child in the seat securely, traveled to my destination, unbuckled my child and ran brief errand.upon returning to the car, when i grabbed the belt to move it out of the way to put my child into the seat, the strap was completely detached from the car seats metal hook-like attachment piece.it was the belt which would go over the child's right shoulder.i completely removed the seat from the car and re-threaded the belt back through the threading route and re-attached it to the seat, then re-installed the seat in the car.i found no indication of why or how the belt became detached.i put my child in the seat, secured the belts, and pulled hard on them.the belt remained attached, so i drove home.the following day, i removed the seat and inspected the belt and attachment.i found no reason why the belt would have become detached.i have re-installed the seat, but now need to manually feel behind the seat to check the belt attachment prior to driving with my child.

I purchased three the first years (tomy) c630 baby car seats on 10/18/2011.since that time, i have installed them in multiple vehicles and in all of the vehicles, the seats are not safe to use.the angle of the seat is far too high.i have installed many other car seats (graco, britax) in the same vehicles with no trouble.i am very familiar with methods of adjusting the angle of the seat (foam cylinders, towels, etc.), but these seats are simply unsafe to use in rear-facing position.the internet is littered with many, many complaints about this car seat being defective in rear-facing position.i contacted the manufacturer and reported my complaints.they denied any problems and stated that "people write anything they want on the internet."i sent pictures and video to substantiate my claims.after receiving the pictures and video, they (tomy) told the seller of the product that i had refused their solutions, which was completely untrue.after i persisted, they stated that they would attempt to reproduce my claim in a vehicle of similar make/model to one of my own vehicles.it has been weeks since they stated they would perform this test and they have done nothing.they are also refusing to respond to my inquiries.furthermore, in rear-facing position, it is nearly impossible to access the belt to tighten the harness straps that secure the baby in the seat.again, it has been reported widely across the internet, but tomy refuses to acknowledge any issue.the positioning of the belt is up against the seat back, hidden and inaccessible.let me be clear: in rear-facing position, these seats are unsafe to use and should be recalled.

The tether hook on our first years true fit premier car seat flattened so it will not connect to an anchor.it also will not properly stay connected to the car seat making it a projectile.(related vehicle information: model year=2004, make=elantra, model=hyundai).

Cpsc# i1280380a. Consumer stated that while trying to install the seat rear facing it could not be achieved. Called the customer service and was told "not all car seats work in all cars". *ln
