Follow up to nhtsa id number 10607959 - the manufacturer provided a new strap, i installed it on the carseat and five days later the strap folded over on itself at the loop attaching to the metal plate and came unattached from the metal plate when i loosened the straps to put the child in the seat.the seat design appears to be flawed if this has now occurred with 2 different straps.i still believe the carseat should be recalled.

My carseat is defective because the harness strap that hooks to the metal plate located in the rear of the carseat somehow loosens from the metal plate and eventually unhooks from the metal plate entirely when i loosen the straps to put my child in the seat.this has happened to me at least a dozen times and when i do fix the problem, i pull the entire carseat out of the car (groan) and make sure that both harness straps are properly attached to the metal plate.somehow, the loop on the strap is folding over and then over time comes off of the metal plate.this seat needs to be recalled.additional information -po number:200927570117item number:y11187model number:c650-gtodescription:c650-great outdoorsdate of manufacture:01/10/10

One of the harness straps that attaches to a metal plate located at the bottom rear of the c670 carseat completely detached from the metal plate and came entirely out of the carseat when the strap was pulled to tighten the harness. This happens at least every other day. I have tried to contact tomy, but they are currently closed. They have also stopped manufacturing carseats.
