Safety 1st alpha omega elite convertible car seat purchased at sams club jan 2013, mfg date of 7/19/12. Chest clip opens/ does not secure in place when fully closed. It appears to be closed but will open with light pressure, without pushing down the release button. I have used this seat about 3 times, as it is a back up. I haven't used it since i noticed that the chest clip was not fastening. Everything else on the seat appears functional.
The contact owns a safety 1st alfa omega elite child seat, model# sf1. While installing the child seat, the contact read the instructions and was informed that a towel should be placed under the seat to create to proper seating angle. The contact did not feel that this was safe.updated 04/19/12*lj
Booster seat....it is a grow with you safety first.the tether in the rear of the seat, has totally braken away from the seat,and also lock and release mechinism sticks .so, when i put a heavier coat on my child,it takes me forever,to get it to release so its constantly squishing her. And of course,she's crying because its hurting her! also,it doesn't sit properly,its always leaning to one side, or the other! it hurts me to think with the issues @ hand, if we were in an accident,what might happen to my daughter!this was not a cheap car seat! a sincere thankyou!michigan(related vehicle information: model year=2002, make=sonata, model=hyundai).
I just want to know something, i bought safety 1st ( alpha omega) car seat five months ago, but yesterday i went to the store and i found the same car seat with a warning next to the car seat price and it says that the car seat contains some chemicals that may cause cancer or birth defects. I want to know if you know something about, im worry about my child.thanks.
Cpsc:i530101a. Safety 1st car seat. Consumer stated after trying to install the car seat in her vehicle with a police officer who was certified in car seat installation, they agreed it is not possible for the base to sit flat in the seat. *lnserial # wce2b 410768.
The contact owns a safety 1st alpha omega elite child seat, model number cc098-cmrl. The seat was manufactured on 07/08/2014. While traveling, the chest belt was able to become unlatched more than once. The child was able to come out of the chest belt without warning. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and indicated that they would send a new chest belt in order to remedy the failure. The contact discarded the child seat because there was no temporary adjustment that could be made until the part was received. The purchase date was unknown.

The contact owns a dorel safety 1st alpha omega elite 22-269-crk child safety seat.the contact called the manufacturer on october 5, 2007 to request the safety strap kit.she was informed that it should be received within seven to ten working days.as of november 7, 2007, the kit has not been received.she called the manufacturer again and was advised to leave a message.her call has not yet been returned.
I purchased an alpha omega elite from safety 1st at the bye bye baby store in overland park ks.i took it to the local police station to have it installed and was told it was broken and to return it.the store would not return it as it had been installed in a car and a child had ridden in it.there was a part of the back frame that was to hold the bar that controlled the rise and lowering of the head rest that had been stressed and bent over causing the bar to be loose and not operate as it was intended.i sent a picture to the company and the car seat was replaced for a fee until such time as i sent parts from the old seat verifying it has been destroyed.i purchased another car seat that better fit in my car and took it to a local car seat fitting event and was told to make this report.
