This morning my husband loosened the straps of my daughters carseat, placed her in the seat then buckled it and retightened the straps to be snug enough so she couldn't move much. Thenas we are driving we came to a sudden stop and when i looked back my daughter had come completely forward nearly out of the seat because her 5 point harness failed to restrain andremain right. No injuries were sustained, thankfully! when we got home and removed her we tightened the straps completely and pulled on them and they pulled out with ease. She wasriding in a peg perego sip 5-70 convertible car seat manufactured 3/2/2012. It was bought july 2012. She was also forward facing. The seat was installed with the latch clips and she is 33.5"tall and 25lbs, perfectly in range for the seat. This could have been disastrous. I expected much much more out of such an expensive "top of the line" seat. The company is sending areplacement shell however i am extremely nervous to use it.
Peg perego infant car seat assembled incorrectly from manufacturer. See attached images. Metal buckle came through padding. Looking behind padding, belt was threaded through only one loop. Child had been insecurely fastened from 10/18/2019 - 01/20/2020. No incident. Photos taken and helpful for proper description. *dt *dt*dtconsumer stated car seat was not assembled correctly by the manufacturer. Harress is corrected now.
