We purchased the 2006 primo viaggo sip carseat for our son and soon after we began using the seat i realized that my newborn baby's head continually fell forward when he was in the seat (because the seat doesn't recline my child enough).this could cause suffocation, discomfort, or possibly cause more severe injuries (than if this problem wasn't evident) in the case of an accident.i had the car seat checked for proper installation but i was repeatedly sent off with a "passed" inspection.my son is now almost 7 months of age and although he now has head control, when he falls asleep in the car his head still falls forward. I would have returned the car seat but it wasn't a possibility so i contacted the manufacturer.they offered to send me a "soft insert" for the side impact pads and a new level reader (which turned out to be a cheap piece of plastic to insert into my leveling guide on the base.there were no questions asked or difficulties when i contacted the manufacturers which causes me to believe mine wasn't the first complaint. That prompted me to check on-line to see if other people had complaints.i found many with similar problems but no good solutions.some had used a "pool noodle" or rolled towel under the attachment base to make the seat recline more.it seems like a safety hazard to be altering your seat base though.when the new insert and level reader came in the mail i promptly put them to use.they have not solved the problem.this has been a big stress for me as i am still concerned about my child's safely and comfort in his car seat.i would just purchase a new seat but was part of a travel system i purchased and the car seat snaps into my stroller. We are students and i don't have the luxury of making these new purchases.i hope this problem in confronted before a child is injured and to warn other parents who may find themselves in a similar situation.

Purchased peg perego primo viaggio car seat with base on december, 2007 from babies r us. Sent in registration and warranty to manufacturer right away. Had the police department install car seat correctly on december.on may 20th, noticed that the base is not strapped in correctly in backof car.the base fell apart into two pieces and i was not able to put back in place. The user's manual has no information about such malfunctions.since may 20th, i have been calling the manufacturer and trying to discuss my issue, but the phone's are always busy. I have three different numbers i am trying to contact the peg perego manufacturer customer service. I have contacted the local police department and they have advised me to file this complaint.

The child safety seat base would not release.

Car seat carrier will not latch into base on left side.
