Chest buckle on car seat has failed, buckle does not stay properly secured, waiting for new part from manufacturer, which they did not want to supply.old part is available.
I purchased a peg-perego primo viaggio sip 30.30 car seat in 2008.the buckle that goes across my child's chest does not lock together anymore.we are unable to use the car seat.
Peg perego website does not show it's current recall, specifically for primo viaggo sip 30/30recall.
The bottom clip on the harness of our peg perego primo viaggio sip 30/30 broke.a piece of plastic on the interior of the clip cracked and broke off while in use.we were unable to unlock the clip, and after struggling with it unlatched it in order to remove our daughter from the seat.this is very disturbing considering what potentially may have happened in the event of a car accident.i called 2 times, and the first time i called, the service person i spoke with was not accomodating.she told me that i could expect to have standard wear and tear on the item.i told her that the harness buckle braking is not standard wear and tear.this could have potentially caused the harness buckle to fail and or made it impossible to remove my daughter from the car in the event of an accident.she said i would have to pay for a new harness, but i needed to provide her the man. Date and item number.i did not have that at the time, so i called back.this customer service person was more accomodating.they are sending a brand new harness system free of charge and i am paying shipping.i still find it unacceptable that the harness buckle broke.
On the peg-peregoprimo vaggio sip 30/30 infant rear facing car seat.the chest clip plastic has weakened and no longer stays clicked together.the plastic is black in color originally and there are many white areas on the buckle piece where the plastic is weak.the company is sending a new chest clip but just wondering how many other seats have done this and it is clearly not safe when it does.(related vehicle information: model year=2007, make=primo vaggio, model=imun00us35tl53kn46).

Twoinfant only seat, bases, forpeg perego, have the latch upside down. Therefore when installing, either the latch is upside down or the pulls on the latch would be incorrect.(related vehicle information: model year=2007, make=peg perego, model=infant only base).
