Read complaints for ORBIT INFANT SYSTEM (Unknown)

This complaint is on the orbit toddler seat (not the infant seat). The harness adjuster strap lock is broken on this car seat - which means that the harness straps do not hold tight, which means that the child could be ejected from the seat in a crash.when the seat was purchased and installed initially in 12/2010 the adjuster strap lock functioned properly. There has been no misuse of the seat in the intervening 9 months - and the seat is otherwise in pristine condition and has never even been removed from the vehicle since it was installed 9 months ago.

The contact owns an orbit child seat, model number orb807000 (na) that was manufactured on june 21, 2010. The contact stated that the straps were becoming loose and there was no way to tighten them. The manufacturer informed the contact that the child seat warranty was expired and advised to stop using it.

Car seats placed in the back for proper age and have only forgotten once when it was not present. Was a booster seat involved.

I own an orbit infant car seat.the bolt that holds down the latch that secures the harness strap broke.this is located at thefeet of where the baby rests in the car seat.because is was broken, my daughter was no longer securely strapped in the car seat.i noticed this when i wanted to adjust the shoulder straps.i called orbit and they did not replace it because it was pass the 2 year warranty (2 1/2 years old.)they also told me it was now unsafe to use and i had to purchase an entire new one.i take very good care of everything i own and this was not due to poor handling of product.i believe it was a defect.

We had premature twins born 9/07/13. They spent 2 weeks in the nicu to build strenght at feeding and to monitor their heart rate and breathing. The final test in order to be released from the nicu is in their car seats. We had purchased 2 orbit baby infant carseats, model g2 a month prior to their birth. The orbit manual states the seat is rated to 4 pounds and 19 inches at the lower limit. At the time of release the nicu nurses had my son at 5 lbs 6 oz and 19in. That should be well within orbit's tested and aproved parameters. To quoute the nicu medical team from yesterday, " we can not release your children at this time because they are swimming in their car seats" they spent a considerable amount of their time researching the orbit car seat systems and luckily found a "lower birth weight fit kit" offered by orbit. I have read orbit's g2 manual from cover to cover and it makes no mention of that kit in the install or safety rating sections, except for one sentence on the back cover that briefly mentions it like a comfort accessory. Their website has no such accessory listed when you go to the g2 seat page or search the term from that page. It can only be found with a browser search of the term "lower birth weight fit kit" that takes you to a seperate page and charges you $40 per kit.these are the questions i am left with.1. Was the g2 seat certified down to 4 lbs with this kit installed. 2. Without this kit what is the true child size the seat is rated for? is it 10 lbs and 22 in?15 lbs 24 in?i do not believe the orbit g2 seat is safe or honest in their marketing as it is currently packaged, advertised, and with the current installation manual instructions. I tried calling them and orbit seems more interested in celebrity endorsements than child safety. I recommend an immediate product recall until orbit fixes these major safety problems.

The contact owns a orbit base (model # 802000) for a orbit child safety seat.the back of the base unit came apart on the infant seat. The base unit was replaced by the manufacturer.however the newbase unit was also defective, because the safety seat would wobble.the manufacturer concluded that the wobbling was normal.a third base unit was sent. A month later, the security levers on the base fractured; which causedthe safety seat to slide out of the base.the manufacturer was notified, whom speculated that vehicle might have caused the bases to fracture. A fourth base unit was sent.

We have used our orbit baby g2 toddler seat for approximately 23 months under normal conditions with no accidents. The fastener that secures the adjuster strap lock to the frame of the car seat appears to have snapped, leading to an inability to maintain the harness straps in a tightened state (that is, they can be tightened or loosened freely). We have contacted the manufacturer, who has agreed to send a replacement car seat in exchange for the old one. This seat is missing from your list, so relevant information is included here: orbit baby toddler seat g2, product # orb827000, manufactured 2012/08/25, serial # 7025132, batch # a0701
