Latching system, that connects seat to base, on mico base started malfunctioning after 2 months of use. I have to manually depress 3 of the 4 springs to be able to safely secure child seat to base. Car seat will not properly or securly latch into base on its own. Very disappointed with product quality.
The contact owns a maxi-cosi, model# 22-515(mico) infant safety seat. The date of manufacturer was 3/12/2008. The contact stated that she experienced difficulty attaching or detaching the shell from the base, since there was inadequate mating between the shell and the base mounting bracket.if the shell was improperly mounted to the base, the child could be injured in the event of a crash. She notified the manufacturer in reference to recall# 09c005000, child seat base - infant. A representative stated she was ineligible for a free remedy since the seat was manufactured on 3/12/2008 and the coverage period was until february 17, 2008;however,she would be provided with an instructional packet. She currently has possession of the safety seat.updated 10/09/09 the consumer stated the manufacturer has since provided a new base. Updated 10/16/09
