The rear facing carseat gets stuck in the base on numerous occasions.sometimes take 10-15 minutes of trying to pull the release arm (red) in the back of the car seat before it releases from the base.

The infant child restraint manufactured by the company learning curve/the first years, model name via 1470 lamaze, manufactured on 06/04/2011, model number: 1470-lmgy, has two parts. The carrier and base. The infant carrier has been getting stuck to the base. This infant child restrain was purchased new and after about a month or so of being in use, began to get stuck. The child restraint was then taken to the store from which it was purchased to exchange it for a new one. A new one was received, however, after two weeks of using the child restraint, the carrier got stuck in the base again. The red handle from which the carrier detaches form the base does not slide all the way to the top of the slot. When pulling the red handle, the handle moves to the left of the slot and does not allow for it to move any further.

The contact owns a lamaze rear facing child restraint, model number: via i470, and manufactured april 20, 2011. The contact stated that while attempting to remove the child seat from the base, it failed and the seat could not be unlocked from the base. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The child safety seat was no longer being used.

The contact owns a lamaze child sat seat, model number via 1470, manufactured august 16, 2011. The contact stated after several attempts, the base failed to detach. In order to remove the child seat and base the seat belt was cut. The manufacturer was not notified of the problem. The child seat had not been replaced with a new one.

The contact owns a tomy international lamaze via i470 child seat. The contact stated that the child seat was rear-facing and positioned in the rear seat of the vehicle when the contact attempted to remove the child seat from the base. The seat would not unlock from the base and the contact had to cut the seat belt in the vehicle, in order to remove the child seat and the base. The contact called the manufacturer numerous times but was unable to reach a representative. The contact stated that the child seat was no longer being used.
