The failure recurred multiple times. The child was in the child seat at the time of the failure. I am concerned about the plastic integrity of my 2006 graco snugride infant car seat.the seat was manufactured in july of 2006 and has a "use until" date of december 2012. I have noticed numerous white areas indicating an issue with the plastic integrity on both the base and the car seat itself.contacting graco was unsatisfactory as they stated that it was probably related to the dyes.these areas have recently shown up, and i am concerned that they may indicate a problem with the manufacturing of the seat as it's not that old, has never been dropped, and has never been involved in a vehicle accident.

The contact owns a graco child restraint seat, model number: 1770254, manufactured december 20, 2011. The child restraint was being utilized in a 2009 dodge nitro. The child restraint detached from the base and was thrown behind the passenger's seat. The child was not injured. The manufacturer was not contacted.

Certified child passenger safety technician instructor had a hard time installing the infant seat using the latch system. *ph the latch anchors were recessed too far into the seat. *sc

Went to put my daughter in carseat this morning, and carrier would not attach to base. The bottom part latched, but the hook would not latch up underneath. Took her out and got it to latch, but when proceeded to put the carrier back onto the base, it would not latch again. Therefore, i was unable to use the infant carrier because of it not wanting to latch properly.

Recall on car seat buckle.

I have a graco snugride maufactured 1-12-07. I noticed, upon inspection, that this seat has very obvious spots of weakened plastic. I called the company about this matter and they offered me a $40 rebate. Now this seat new is roughly $80-90. Or they could have me pay for shipping and return the seat when this is obviously a defect not caused by me.

There is a luxury foam pad between the seat cover and the hard plastic of my child's infant car seat. (graco snugride 35 1761417 cs flint). My child is able to stick their arm between the cover and hard plastic and pick at the foam. My child is then able to put the foam in her mouth, which is a choking hazard. I have had to pull over three times to remove the foam from their mouth before my child choked on it. I have found similar complaints in reviews of this item. The car seat is two years old but in very good condition. There has been no damage to the car seat, other than that the foam now has pieces ripped out of it. My child is in danger of choking because the car seat pad does not fully cover the luxury foam pad underneath it and my child is capable of picking the foam apart and putting it in her mouth. Graco sent me a new foam pad to try and fix the problem, but it did nothing. My child can still pull it out and choke on it.

Graco company stated graco snugride 30 carrier is allowed to be used with graco snugride 32 base however when used together the parent is not able to identify the correct angle for the seat because there is no angle indicator visible.graco customer service stated the parent has to view the "triangle" on the side of the seat for proper angle placement however there is no instructions to verify this or guide the user on how to view the correct angle.

This is not a major complaint, but i was installing a new graco snugride base (with infant seat model #1786087, manufacture date: 12/30/10) and went to adjust the foot. The new style of the foot is not easy to adjust and as i tried to moved it, it suddenly gave way and my finger was smashed between the base and the foot. I didn't sustain a major injury but it is sore and i can see this happening again very easily to other users. I never once had a problem like this with the previous design.

I purchased an infant car seat for my daughter when the carseat is sitting without the babyittilts backwards fully it even did it with my newborn in it until she reach a higher weight it didn't hurt her because she was strapped in and sitting on carpet but if she was not strap in and sitting in my kitchen she may have became seriously injured.

Graco snugride model # 7304hnw3 "level indicator"which indicates whether the infant restraint (car seat)is properly reclined does not work smoothly. It can give wrong reading. In consistent. Cheap plastic wheel indicator that does not give indication of "level" consistently because the way the indicator is made. It needs ti be tapped repeatedly to check to see if it is stuck and giving false level.

My daughter started wailing while in her car seat (graco stylus travel system stroller - ben) and when i checked on her i saw blood on the little flap that covers the metal piece used to tighten the straps. The backs of her feet were bleeding. Upon furtherinvestigation under the flap there was a raised plastic piece that apparently she had been kicking.

Recline indicator on child safety seat not working.

Graco children's products has recalled several models of the snugride infant car seat.my seat is "not" affected by the recall because of it's mfg date; however, i washed the pad the other day and the backing of the pad deteriorated and is peeling off, which is exactly the problem that prompted the recall.i believe the recall needs to be extended to other mfg. Dates.

I was shopping for car seats at burlington coat factory, on zeier rd, in madison wi. I noticed that they were selling a floor model graco car seat at a discounted rate. I have never seen floor models for sale before in a store, and in fact have seen labels sewn into floor model car seats at other retailers (target, etc) that indicate such models are not to be sold for consumer use and are only meant to serve as a model. I do not know if this is against any law or administrative code but wanted to report this in the event that it is.

My graco snugride base was hardly used at all--only for 3-4 months installed in my vehicle (october 06 to february 06), and the install was correct and checked. After this, we took the base out and stored it in the top of a closet with nothing under or over it, in climate controlled conditions. I did not check for this defect when i uninstalled it, i just put it in the closet because it was no longer needed. When i got it out for use with our second child (june 08) i noticed the problem.the bottom part of the base seems off-set from the top part of the base. The hooks on the left side that hold the two pieces together (and allow for adjusting of the seat recline) are stick out, but the ones on the right side are completely inside the opening, so when you push on top of the restraint (the way a car seat would push on it) the right side just falls. I have pictures if they are needed. I was told by graco to buy a new base, but not told what would have caused this.

The handle to the carseat handle sticks and wont move. It happens everytime i use the carseat, nothing has been done to fix it.

I have a graco snugride infant car seat, manufactured on 042205. The model number 8465wsr2.my son choked on the cotton padding on the head rest.there is no cover for the back part of the headrest and he grabbed a handful of cotton and put it into his mouth!i had to stick both of my fingers down his throat to retrieve the padding.had i not pulled the car over when i did, he may have ... I cant even say it.i don't want this to happen to another child/mother. This is a serious hazard for baby.

Graco model # 8457tmj, dom 06-15-2001;base attached to the carrier is not as secure in vehicle then with it.also, no matter how much the seat is tightened it rises upback of the seat. Once the child is put in the angle is always off. Graco was notified and still advised not to use the base until new part has been put on.

The contact owns a graco snugride child seat, model 8446l.the seat was manufactured on september 9, 2003.on july 19, 2009, the contact's child was burned by the metal from the head rest.she believed that the failure was a safety issue and would like it to be investigated.the purchase date was unknown.

Without warning child safety seat handle broke off when the consumer was pulling the seat out of the vehicle. *mr

Cpsc# i1160539agraco snugride 35. The inspector stated when installing the car seat he had concerns about the fit and safety of the base, and we were not the first people he had voiced his concern too. The inspector continued with the install to show us the issues he had found while installing the base in other people's cars. *lnwhen the inspector went to put the car seat into the base, there was an audible click of the locking mechanism, but the seat did not lock in. They were able to pick the car seat right up out of the base.it was discovered the lock had to be forced to click twice and then the car seat became stuck. The consumers husband had to forcefully wiggle and shake the seat to remove it from the base.the inspector recommended that the consumer return the base.

The handle on my daughter infant seat is cracked. Its never been dropped.. The born date on it is 2010 month march 31st. It is a graco snug ride. I bought it july 9th 2010.

The contact owns a graco snugride rear-facing child restraint seat, model number: 1770642, manufactured february 10, 2012. The contact stated that the straps that held the child would become loose very easily. If there was any type of movement, the straps would not secure the child in the seat. The contact was concerned that if involved in a crash the child would not be properly restrained. The manufacturer was notified who sent a replacement child seat but the replacement seat exhibited the same failure. The contact stated she has returned the seat four times previously with the same failure. The manufacturer stated there were no recalls and no similar complaints on the child seat.

Dt*:the contact stated while on a shopping cart, the child seat flipped backwards causing injuries to the infant.the make of the child safety seat is graco model 7411mch2 snug ride manufactured in 05-11-05.the manufacturer has not been alerted.

I slide on ice going about 30mph slide up embankment and my blazer rolled onto the roof. The garco infant snug ride car seat released from the carseat base makeing my baby slide across the other side of the car. She was ok. I always check to make sure it can not be lifted from the base , the handle is locked, and the belt is still snug and sucure on the base.

Canopy on infant car seat almost suffocated my child.it bunches up around her face to where she sometime cannot breathe.

My infant son has the graco rear facing car seat model # 1748241 the restraintbuckle does notwant to release when i try to unbuckle and it makes it hard to get my son out, sometimes it takes 10 minutes or longer to get it to release worried that if something happened i could not get my baby out.

Snugride. The padding is falling apart causing a choking hazard for my 10 month old child. After every wash its just falling apart. And my child is able to tear some of the backing off just by pulling at the sides of the padding.

Cpsc: graco snugride: consumer stated the foam underneath the fabric seat of the car seat poses a choking hazard, as the toddler was able to reach the foam under the seat and tear it apart. *ssthe manufacturer informed the consumer, they no longer offered replacement foam for the her model and stated the car seat was no longer safe for use.

Graco snugride classic connect infant car seat model number 1813030.the car seat would not detach from the base. The two spring loaded metal clasps on the bottom of the car seat got stuck on the metal latches on the base of the car seat. The car seat will not detach from the base. This scared me into purchasing a new car seat because if i were to get into a car accident, i wouldn't have been able to easily detach the car seat from the base. I would have had to unbuckle the seat belt and pull the entire car seat out, base and all.

My childs graco snugride classic connect car seat is not working properly. The straps tighten unevenly. Sometimes they will not loose and it is difficult to remove her from the seat. Most often one side will tighten to the safe recommendation of tightness and the other strap will have way too much slack in it. I am concerned about the safety of this product. It started out every once in awhile but i could mess with it to make it work. Now it does it every time. *dt

The handle on the graco snug ride carrier would not lock into position to carry the car seat.my husband took it a part and there was piece broken inside it.

Harness buckle on graco snugride 30 won't unlatch.

The contact owns a graco snug ride child seat, model number: 1806995, and manufactured january 13, 2013. The contact stated that the seat buckle would sporadically become stuck and could not be opened.the contact had to sever the harness straps in order to remove the child from the seat due to the failed buckle. The contact also stated that once the harness straps were severed, the buckle released. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure.

There was a car crash. I was driving north, someone ran the stop sign and i t-boned them. Both cars were totaled. During the accident, my 10 week old son was in the backseat in his graco carseat facing the rear end of the car. His seat came out of the base and flew behind my seat. This seat was not very safe at all, granted he did not get hurt. What is saying he couldn't have if one little thing wouldn't have been different. His seat isgraco, and i believe the model number is pd100672a. I feel something should be done about this, so it does not happen again and cause a very serious injury.

Regular use of the graco snugride 32 and base in 2007 corolla.the carseat will flip sideways but remain installed in the base.it happens several times a month now that the baby is 17 lbsit can occur on a short trip, less that 10 minutes in the car.there have not been any serious consequences as a result of the flipping. The carseat base is reinstalled weekly at minimum in attempt to decrease the frequency that the car seat flips. Manufacturer was contacted. Their recommendation was "if the car seat is not fitting safe in the middle seat, then you would want to use one of the side seats with the latch system."toyota recommends the carseat be installed in the center seat however.

The contact owns a 2005 graco snugride child seat, model number 8645fmt3.while the contact was pushing the baby stroller over railroad tracks, the hook that holds the base together failed.the hook split in half. Updated 5/19/08

The contact was driving a 2002 toyota camry. The contact owns a 2006 graco snugride infant child seat, model number 8643mdw3, manufactured on december 14, 2006.the contact was transporting the child to the vehicle secured in an "infant only" child restraint seat when the handle mechanism failed to remain inthe lock position. My son keep getting his fingers stuck in the little open parts where the seat belt would go when its in the car. I have to pull his finger out and he has not had any serious injuries yet but he does this all the time and sometimes i have to get help to get his fingers out because he jams them in there so tight.

I have a graco snugride 35 infant care seat, purchased in 2012, in great condition and never in an accident. Recently when trying to remove my five month old infant from the seat i was barelyable to get the connector at the bottom of the 5-point harness to open. I was trying with all my strength for at least five minutes. I was about to resort to cutting the straps to get her out. But after taking a break, with one final all out push on the button i was able to open it. I have used this seat many times and with my other child so it was not user in-experience. I suspect sand or other debris to have gotten in the connector and it stuck. After open i blew very hard on the piece to try to move any debris. I have not had any reoccurring issues to date. I know that other graco seats have been recalled for faulty connectors that will not open. My infant was not in thecar or danger. I am sharing this because had this been in a dangerous or dire situation it could have been disastrous and endangered my child's life. I have ordered a new connector fromgraco's site. As the infant seats are still under review i thought it important to share my experience. *dtno invalid

The contact owns a graco safety seat, model number: 1901845, model type: snugride and manufactured on 1/10/2015. The safety seat was being utilized in a 2014 ford fusion. Snugride carseat; model 1750727; date of manufacture - 11-05-2010i noticed a couple pieces of foam in my carseat after i would take my son out. I thought somehow the friction from him wiggling or kicking his legs was rubbing the fabric material against the foam underneath and somehow becoming "worn" and loose.my concern is that the foam is accessible to my baby. He has on more than 1 occasion been found to have the foam pieces about the size of a quarter, in his mouth. This is a choking hazard! he can fit his fingers in the gap between the fabric material and the plastic carseat and pull the foam out in large pieces. If i am required to have a rear facing carseat, i cannot watch him. Babies put everything in their mouths - including this foam. I am afraid he is going to choke without my knowledge or worse someone else has this carseat and not aware of this major flaw. I have since put velcro between the fabric and the plastic to try to prevent him from further putting his fingers in there.

Graco car seat recall.mr

I have a safety concern regarding a graco snugride seat, model 8446lfkb, manufactured in august 2003.according to the product literature and instructions, this seat is rated for infants from 5 to 20 lbs. My newborn is a full-term baby and is 7.5 lbs/20" she does not fit safely into the seat. With the straps set to the correct height (bottom holes), i cannot tighten the straps to where they're snug against my child. When iam pulling the tensioner strap all the way, the bracket attaching the shoulder straps butts up against the bottom of the seat still leaves enough room to easily slip a couple of fingers in between the straps and my child. Since it's not safe to put something behind my child, and not safe to leave that much slack, i cannot use this seat. This seat worked well for my first child, but she was nearly 9 pounds at birth. This should be a relatively simple problem to address, simply by shortening the straps to where this child would be snug in the seat. I do not feel comfortable using this seat until this problem is addressed. I'm sure i'm not the only one that has this problem, and i expect most parents are unaware of it, as they are likely to incorrectly think the child is in the seat securely when the metal bracket reaches the end of its travel, making it impossible to tighten any further.

**the model number for this seat is not 8402, the correct number was not available on the complaint form. The correct model number for this car seat is 7411blb.**1. I have a graco quattor tours travel system (model #7411blb), i attached the car seat to the stroller that came with the system. 2. When i eased the stroller down a ~4 inch curb the child car seat detached form the stroller base, breaking the only (red) clip that secures the child car seat to the stroller; it is also the clip that attaches the child car seat to the base that secures the vehicle car seat. My 2.5 year old daughter was holding onto the car seat carrying handle at the time. The car seat fell our of the stroller with my 6 month old son in it landing on my daughter.3. I have been unable to contact graco, their offices have either been closed or in training when i have called.

I was sent a safety recall notice re: my child's graco snugride safety seat in dec. Of 2007.i mailed the proper sheet back as asked, with the understanding i would receive a replacement pad in 6-8 weeks.i was told to contact this website if the situation hadn't been remedied within a reasonable amt. Of time and now 6 mos. Has passed, and i have yet to receive the replacement.

The contact owns a graco snugride child seat, model number 7e02dny3.the seat was manufactured on june 9, 2008.when turning the vehicle at various speeds, the infant safety seat would flip over to the opposite side while the infant was seated in the child seat.the contact took her seat to an inspection station and the technician stated that the seat was installed properly.the cause of the failure could not be identified.the child weighs 13 lbs and is 4 months old.the contact is in the process of notifying the manufacturer.she still has possession of the seat.the purchase date and failure type were unknown.

The screws that hold the handle onto the infant seat became loose. Noticed it when i went to pick my son up in the seat. Luckily i noticed before anything else happened.

Graco snugride carseat adjustable handle problem & warning stickers falling off:this is our second snugride carseat and from the beginning it has seemed plague. The warning stickers fell off within the first month of use.then most recently the handle jammed upon trying to remove the carseat (containing child) from it base and out of the car.the carseat was almost dropped.the handle is easily attached by two screws and upon remove and examination the plastic adjustment piece inside broke.once the broken piece was removed and handle was reattached it seemed to worked fine until the second side broke.upon contacting graco i was told that no replacement piece/handle was available--as it would be a safety issue to screw on a new handle.they were rude and i was told that no one else has had this problem.they offered no concern orremedyother than to go buy a new one. The accompanying stroller to this carseat has already been recalled,as have many of my other graco products.this is the first formal complaint i have made, but feel it is necessary as i am starting to lose faith in this company and also feel that it is important to file before a child is hurt.

Angle indicator on graco snug ride stuck and not working on a seat i was installing for a expecting mom.i am a cps tech.

I received the notice of the recall on november 11, 2007 and i ordered the replacement kit right away, to date, i have not received the replacement kit nor paymentfor a new carseat. At this time, i want the manufacturer to refund the amount we spent on purchasing the seat so we can use it for our new baby.

Harness lengths different, front adj on seat.unable to get both sides tight.snug ride model # 1755258.

I have a graco snugride infant carseat with base. Model #8f09jav3. On the back side of the carseat where the belts come through to the adjusters/tensioners, there is the extra lengths of seatbelt that is left dangling. These pieces get pinched between the carseat base and the red latch on the carseat itself that clicks into the base to hold it in. When this happens, the seat can be pulled up out of the base because the red latch will not latch into the base with the straps caught on it. I believe the other 2 latches at the opposite end of the seat are latching (i can hear them click), but this rear one is not! i have reason to believe this is a safety concern that the seat would not be held properly into the base in the even of an accident. I have video and photos showing this procedure and the effects. I have just noticed this happening but have used the carseat for the past 2 years and i believe this could have been happening the entire time.

I have twins, who both have the graco snugride infant car seat.the pad was recalled last year, on model #8646fie3, manufacturer's on 2/21/07.after contacting graco 3 times, i still do not have the replacement pads.this last phone call i was informed that the replacement pads are still on back order.my babies are 8 months old now, and still fit the requirements for these infant seats.they are now able to get a hold of pieces of the backing and pull it off.they have not put them in their mouths yet.these pads have only been washed once since purchasing.what are we supposed to do with recalled car seats??i can't afford to purchase new ones.

Latch mechanism was defective and wouldn't release from the base.(nar)*ph

The contact owns a 1997 ford explorer and a 2008 graco snug ride child restraint seat, model number 7fema3, manufactured on september 16, 2008.while driving approximately between 10-15 mph; the child was properly secured in an "infant" child restraint seat.the child restraint seat was installed with the seat belt system. The failure continued with no resolutions.the failure mileage was unknown and the current mileage was 125,000.the vin was not available. Bl

My child's carseat was purchased in 2012. The seat belt pieces do not stay tightened.they are tightened every time our daughter is put in and are loose by the time we take her out after each trip.this happens without fail every time and has happened from the first time we used it. (related vehicle information: model year=july 2012, make=snugride, model=1809558)(related vehicle information: model year=2007, make=toyota, model=rav 4).

I have a graco car seat for my infant son.the straps on it are difficult to tighten and they loosen as i drive the car.it is difficult to maintain a snug fit.

My daughter was pulling on her car seat strap and sucking on it and everytime she would the harness would loosen.. I called graco and told them about the issue and the lady told me that i needed to go buy another carseat and send that one it to be inspected and that she would mail me a label to send the seat to them. I received the new label in the mail along with a letter that stated and i quote " you have 30 days from date of delivery to return your carseat to us and if we find a problem we will reimburse you $65.00 if we don't feel it is a problem we will not reimburse you. Thanks rubbermaid..

My child's car seat which i purchased just 6 months ago from a walmart store the seatbelts do not stay tightened i have to tighten them daily when i put him in the car seat every single time(related vehicle information: model year=2012, make=snugride, model=1814030).

The harness straps on the seat constantly come loose and need to be tightened.when the straps become loose child is not secure in the child safety seat.consumertightened the straps ten times in the last two months.

The contact owns a 2008 graco snugride child restraint seat, model number 1751535; in a 2009 toyota camry.while carrying the child secured in an infant only child seat, the carry handle became loose. This condition could cause the carry handle to fail, which could subsequently cause injury to the infant.she was in the process of contacting the manufacturer.the vehicle identification number was unavailable.

We began to have trouble latching and unlatching our baby's car seat from the base. It would not click in every use and we also experienced times when it would not unlatch. Upon inspection of car seat it was noticed that the bottom part of the attachment latch outer sides, which his hard plastic molding on both sides of the latch, are both cracked and bent in.

The base on this car seat not stay on the seat properly, when i went around a curve the car seat tipped over to one side. There were no injuries but it wouldnt be safe if i were in a accident. Also the car seat gets stuck in the base and is extremely hard to remove at times. Also, the straps do not stay tight they loosen when child moves.

As part of file work (automotive forensic consulting company), we recently conducted drop tests on an exemplar graco snugride infant child restraint with 3-point harness using two different dolls (five tests with each doll).the drop tests applied an acceleration pulse in a direction consistent with a frontal collision.with the harness tightened as per manufacturer's instructions, up to one inch of webbing slippage was noted through the metal 'harness tightener' (harness adjuster) at the rear of the child restraint.only one of the 10 tests did not experience webbing slippage.these tests were preliminary in nature.further testing was planned but the case settled.my concern is that the harness could loosen in a real-world crash, compromising the safety of the child.

Graco snugride lotus - the canopy that is used to shade baby from the sun is dangerous. My 8 month old kicked the canopy off of the plastic parts and had the plastic parts that you insert into the canopy in her mouth while i was driving on the freeway. This has happened more than once. I called to inform graco and they said not to use the canopy anymore. But their brochure states that babies can use this seat until they are 22 lbs. There should be a choking hazard warning or recall on this item.

As our child has grown and become more active, i've noticed that the straps of her car seat are often too loose to keep her securely fasten in her seat even though the straps were snug.we use our infant carrier almost every day so i know she is not changing in size that quickly. I have to tighten the straps every 2 to 3 times we place her in her seat.i checked the manual to make sure that the harness is correctly threaded.i did not have this problem when we used the same carrier with our older children.

When putting the child seat ( model#8446ldw) into the stroller the rear latch did not engage. As a result the child fell out of the child safety seat. No injuries reported. The cause has yet to be determined. Please provide additional information.

Carseat comes with 5 point safety harness.18 month old child who still meets both height and weight requirements can unlatch the shoulder latch on carseat with belt and latch correctly placed and tightened.manufacturer uses identical latch on all seats with 5 point harness, including those that are designed for children up to 65 pounds.an 18 month old should not be able to unlatch their own carseat.

The important information and instruction stickers on the side of my car seat are all peeling off.i do not want to lose the information that these stickers contain.

My 8 month old's graco infant seat (snugride) buckle is not included in the toddler seatbuckle recall, yet the pictures on graco's website show the buckle is the exact same as the recalled buckle. Buckle got stuck for the first time about 2 months ago. Buckle continued to work most of the time and would get stuck about once a week but my husband was able to press down hard enough to get it undone. Since last week the buckle has been getting stuck every day and more. Even my strong husband hasn't been able to get the release button on buckle to press down. I've had to resort to undoing the straps in the back of the seat and pulling them the through so that i could pull my child through the leg straps and out of the buckle and seat.then i have to reinsert & adjust the straps (hoping i'm doing it correctly and safely). I called customer service and when i was finally connected with a human i was told that no other complaints had been made with infant seat buckles. I find hard to believe that mine is the only infant seat buckle doing this. Graco said the reason why the buckles were getting stuck was because of trapped food in the buckle. This clearly can not be the only cause for the defect, because my 8 month old doesn't eat or drink in the seat. Graco saidthey would send me a new buckle if i wanted one but that it could be up to 4 weeks (a whole month!) until my replacement buckle arrives because the shipment of new buckles had not arrived yet. I asked for a new car seat and suggested that i send my seat and defected buckle back to graco for inspection so that the recall can be reassessed to include infant seats. She said no that they were not sending out new seats and that she would make a note of my complaint. After asking what i should do for the next month when buckle gets stuck she implied that i should continue undoing the straps in the back of the seat! this is humiliating to do in public! more importantly, in an emergency i won't have time to undo the straps!

My baby was fussy so my husband put him in his infant car seat and drove him around to help calm him late one night.he screamed more, so my husband came home.when i went to feed him after they got back, i noticed that my baby had torn up the backs of his ankles and was starting to scab over.when we looked for the source of the injury, my husband remembered the screaming and we checked out the car seat.there was blood on the seat padding and a fabric flap that covered a rough, plastic edge that curved upward toward where my baby's feet/legs rested.the fabric flap, even when covering the plastic, failed to protect my baby from that rough edge.injury could occur any time a parent puts their baby in this car seatif they do not know to put a blanket or other padding under their child's legs to protect them from the car seat.i notified the manufacturer and, as of yet, have received no response.

Patient being discharged today and was trying to fit the cars eat in the back seat of their car.i am the car seat technician and the car seat was installed correctly as per the instructions from the manufacturer.the infant car seat with the base were restrained with the latch system with the latch belt attached at sides of car seat and hooked on to the latches in the crack of the seat on either side of car seat and only held down the back of the cars eat closes to the back of the back seat.the head of the car seat, which is rear facing, was not held down well at all and would easily slam the baby's head into the seat of the backs eat if a car crash were to occur. This infant seat needs to be restrained at the head of the car seat so that both head and end of car seat are held down.

The contact owns a graco snugride infant child seat, model number: 1806995, manufactured december 1, 2011. The contact stated that the base lock hook would not properly unlatch. As a result, the contact experienced extreme difficulty releasing the child seat from the base. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure.

I bought a car seat from graco about 3 months ago and about 3 weeks ago i found out about the recall on the snug ride and contacted graco about the recall. To date i have yet to receive any information on the recall to see if my car seat is defective. I believe this should be quickened some how because this could be very dangerous.

The part where the straps buckle onto the base is broken. The cause of how this happened is undetermined. Graco model # 8465bkw.

These incidents pertain to a 1997 mercury grand marquis. There was no accident.when making a right-hand turn, the infant safety seat (graco 8649mtr with metropolitan fabric) falls completely to the side/horizontally, and the infant falls forward.this causes the weight of the baby against the harness to injure and possibly cut off the infant's airway.because the seat belt locks, there is no way for the driver to return the car seat to its safe and upright position without finding a safe place to pull over, stop, and get out of the car.furthermore, a weaker or shorter armed driver has no way of manually holding the carseat in a upright position while looking for a place to pull over and fix the carseat, so the infant must lie there frightened and uncomfortable, if not in pain.obviously much worst could have happened, but i hope that this report will help prevent such occurrences.the carseat was installed exactly according to the instructions with the car as well as from the car seat manufacturer, and the installer was using the enclosed metal seatbelt attachment which supposedly should ensure a safe fit.thank you.

Graco snug ride 22 base cracked during initial installation.installation was performed by the parent with assistance from a cps instructor (who has installed >10,000 car seats).base was initially installed in the vehicle using latch, then removed as it was felt that it would be better to place it in the 3rd row passenger position (which doesn't have latch).safety belt was routed, pulled tight, unbuckled, and locking clip placed.father applied pressure to the base (using his hands) while cps instructor attempted to buckle the seat belt.a crack was heard - and the large crack was noted in the plastic.please note, the lap belt was not routed under the plastic flap on the top of the base at this time - and had never been routed under the plastic flap (this cps instructor prefers to place the lap belt under the flap only after the installation is otherwise completed).this cps instructor has installed at least 1,000 of this base and installed this seat in the same manner as all the others (none of the others have ever cracked) - and there was not an excessive amount of force applied to the seat during this installation attempt.this seat was brand new out of the box.see this picture for the crack on the top of the basehttps://thecarseatlady.files.wordpress.com/2011/05/photo-1.jpgsee this picture for model number & date of manufacture:https://thecarseatlady.files.wordpress.com/2011/05/photo-2.jpg.

I am filing a complaint for gmc 2010 acadia second row seating seat belt issue. Recall #n100243. Although my cars vin number [xxx]. Does not fall into the recall list. My cars second row seat belt is doing the same exact thing as the recall describes. But they will not fix it so in the mean time i cannot carry any child in the back seat because of safety belt concerns.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

My infant son has the graco rear facing car seat model # 1748241 the restraintbuckle does notwant to release when i try to unbuckle and it makes it hard to get my son out, sometimes it takes 10 minutes or longer to get it to release worried that if something happened i could not get my baby out.

As our child has grown and become more active, i've noticed that the straps of her car seat are often too loose to keep her securely fasten in her seat even though the straps were snug.we use our infant carrier almost every day so i know she is not changing in size that quickly. Consumer complaint regarding graco snugride dye leaking from the safety harness onto infant clothes and hands.model #8446livy

Dates.

The padding is not snug fitting to the carseat.older babies (maybe 7 months and up) are able to reach beneath it, while restrained, and tear pieces of cotton batting from it making it a choking hazard. I am now going to purchase a new rear/forward facing carseat that doesn't have this problem.

(1) we placed our 4-month-old child in his graco snugride car seat, which had been sitting in the car for several hours on a sunny day.(2) our child screamed for no apparent reason. When we took him out of the car seat, we saw 4 small welts on the back of one arm. Over the course of a few hours these blistered and popped. When we looked at the car seat we realized that the welts came from the small metal snaps that attach the infant headrest to the seat.(3) we have contacted graco but have not heard back.

My child's car seat pad has already been recalled but i have not received the replacement yet. It was requested in dec. Today my child pulled out fiber fill from the car seat pad and choked. I had to finger sweep my child's throat to remove this fiber.

The contact owns a graco snugride child seat, model number 8f09dny3which was manufactured on july 9, 2008. While driving she noticed that the occupant in the child seat was chocking. She stopped the vehicle and the occupant was expelling stomach contents through his nose. The driver found a tag in the child's mouth that read " made in mexico" that was removed from the safety seat by the child. The contact was very concerned about the safety risk. She attempted to notify the manufacturer; however, no one was available.

My 9 month old daughter was riding in her carseat and began coughing constantly so my husband pulled over to see what the problem was andhe saw she had 2 fists full and a mouth full of stuffing and was choking.luckily she quickly threw up and out came all the stuffing.my husband realized it came from the backing of her carseat pad.i searched on line and learned although many of the models of this particuar seat built at this timeframe were recalled for this same exact reason - mine was not.as you can imagine this is very frustrating and also very frightening to deal with.my model number is 8465eme3.i used it for my first child from birth to 5 months starting oct 2007 and now am using again for my second child.

I heard about the graco recalls on snugride infant carseats on the news so i went online and filled out the recall information in early november 2007 because it applied to my daughter's carseat.i finally heard from graco on january 3, 2008. I immediately sent the form back in because it said it would take 6-8 weeks for my new padding to be shipped.it has now been 9 weeks and i have not received my carseat padding from garco.my child's padding is coming apart and i have pulled the white cotton inner lining out of her fingers because she plays with it.the recall information said not to wash the padding so i have not washed the padding and it is still coming apart.i have had to buy a new carseat for both of my cars because graco is taking to long to replace my padding.i have followed their instructions and still had my padding come apart.

We received a recall notice on our graco snugride infant car seat in december 2007, and immediately sent the reply card in for a new pad.i still have not received the new pad.on the evening of 4/9/08, our 8-month-old daughter reached around the back of the car seat pad, and put a wad of pad stuffing in her mouth - the choking hazard that was described in the recall notice.luckily, i got the stuffing out before she choked.on 4/10/2008, i called graco, and they had my wife's name on record (hui yang) and knew that we had sent our reply card in.the operator at graco said that she did not understand why the pad had not been sent out, and agreed to send a pad to us via fed-ex.on 4/14/08, the new pad arrived, but it will not fit our seat.i called graco again on 4/15/08, and they acknowledged that they sent the wrong pad.they said that the pad i need is on backorder, and they have no projected ship date.what are wesupposed to do?we need the car seat to transport our child.so my wife is hand sewing a backing on the original car seat pad because we do not want our child to choke and die.

We were driving home from work with my child in the back seat in the car seat. This specific car seat cover did not wrap all the way around the seat, it only wrapped all the way around on the top and bottom, leaving the sides assembled to my child. The actual cover of the car seat had some sort of backing or stuffing on the inside and nothing covering it. My child pulled the side down and pulled some of the backing off and stuck it in the mouth. My child then continued to choke on it. Thank heavens my mother was driving because i was able to turn around and see what was going on. My child choked on the backing and finally vomited it out. My concern is if this could happen to me, how many other children is it happening to. What if i had been driving and no one else was in the car? what if i had the music on? therewere so manyquestions. I called graco, the manufacturer, and they were very polite. The replace my car seat with a new car seat and requested the old one. They said there was a team of people that would investigate into the matter and see how many other complaints have been made. Once again, my concern is how long will this take? what if i am the only one that has made a complaint? will it take a child's death before they will recall this?

I have a recalled graco carseat (the padding has been recalled)-model #8645fmt3, manufactured 011007. I have filled out all the appropriate paperwork and was told i would have my replacement pad in no more then 6 weeks, it has now been more than 8 weeks and the padding is coming apart. My daughter is actually pulling the "stuffing" from the carseat and my eldest caught her placing some of the material in her mouth. Not to mention all of the loose threads around the edges that she is beginning to pull at.(i have complied with gracos wishes and not washed it unnecessarily-in fact it has only been washed twice since we purchased it).she is still too small to use a forward-facing carseat, but i am not going to put her in her current carseat, for fear that she may choke while i am driving. I do not feel i should have to purchase a new carseat, but i cannot sit at home everyday waiting for my replacement pad. I have been unsuccessful in contacting graco about this problem and feel i have nowhere else to turn. Can you please either give me information as to where to go-to get this issue resolved, or some how get graco to keep their word and send out the replacement carseat pads...i am sure i am not the only person dealing with this issue.thank you.

Canopy on infant car seat almost suffocated my child.it bunches up around her face to where she sometime cannot breathe.

I received recall information a bout my graco snugride carseat in dec 2007 (nhtsa campaign number 07c-011).it took until feb 20th to receive my replacement seat pad.this is almost three months with a growing infant who is almost out of the carseat by the time i received the new pad.also the replacement is a different pattern than the original and they did not replace the canopy so i have two very different fabrics on my carseat and it looks really stupid.

Tl *- the contact said that the padding on the bottom seat cover of a graco snugride safety seat was easily torn by his child exposing the inside lining material.there were a total of three incidents where the child was able to break pieces of this material and put them in his/her mouth.the first incident occurred on 1/8/07 and required ems to come and assist with the child. While driving home from church, my 12 year old daughter became hysterical as she saw her 8 month old baby brother choking on something.i stopped and found that the car seat he was sitting in didn't have anything that secures the sides against the base.he had flipped the cover up just a little and was pulling the matted covering underneath off and stuffing it in his mouth.i'm not sure what the material is, but it pulls off very easily and there is no way provided for me to keep him from getting to it.i had to take duct tape and fasten down the side to keep him from choking to death.the correct model number for the graco snugride child seat was 8645myc3 and the correct model year is 2006. Those options were not listed in the drop down menu.

The contact owns a 2006 graco snugride, model number 8649min3 child restraint.the contact's child tore off a piece of the pad/lining from the seat and placed it in her mouth.she began to choke.the contact called graco and they stated that they would replace/refund the child seat.

While driving with my 8 month old "safely" in his car seat i noticed that he was gagging and choking.i got into the back seat with him to find that he was choking on the underlining of his car seat cover.the backside of the carseat liner is completely exposed.i was able to see some of the fuzz in the back of his throat and pulled on it with my fingers only to find a large clump that came from the throat.i called and e-mailed manufacturer right away but got no response and we need a new car seat immediately.(graco sunride)

Snugride. The padding is falling apart causing a choking hazard for my 10 month old child. After every wash its just falling apart. And my child is able to tear some of the backing off just by pulling at the sides of the padding.

I have the graco snugride 8643dh03 manufacture date 121606, but it is not listed in the next steps for model info.i will pick a similar model since mine is not listed.my baby can reach under the cover and remove the padding on the back of the cover.there is no liner on it and he has made two holes in the cover on each side of his legs.he has tried eating the "fuzz" he pulls out and i had to pull over while driving due to him choking on it.i now fold the cover under his legs, but he is still able to reach under the cover to pull out fuzz.i contacted graco today, but have not received a response yet.

I received a letter from graco a couple of weeks ago stating that the snugride car seat i have for my daughter was recalled because of the padding. Her's fell apart and i needed a new one so i thought it would be faster and easier to get online and order a new one through the website that they gave me. I went to the website and they didn't have any of the pads in stock. Therefore i don't have a pad on my daughter's car seat. I emailed the company and asked them what i should do and i haven't heard anything back. I really need a car seat cover.

I received an email from walmart.com regarding my snugride infant car seat, model number 8646fie3, with a manufacturer's date of 12/05/06 on november 20, 2007. After numerous telephone calls to the number provided, i received another email on 11/27/07 providing the correct phone number. I called seven times, but with only two options on the automated service, i hung up since neither pertained to me. In mid-december, i received a mail-in order from graco for a new pad replacement. I sent it in right away. It is now feburary and i have heard nothing. The pad on my baby's seat has been tearing since september 2007. I am very upset over this potential choking hazard that has failed to be taken care of. I have just been waiting for months, hoping that today is not the day that my baby will discover the filling tearing off.

Grago snugride infant car seat/carrier model # 8465bkw2 manufactured in 071005 purchased in 09/05. There is large plastic spike on the plastic portion of the seat that touches the infant's back. It is under a cover, so it was not noticed until an indentation was seen in the infant's skin.the infant is 4 months old now and over the past several months has cried hysterically every time he was put in the seat, especially when the restraint was tightened (this would have forced the spike into his back) to the point that we started to avoid car travel.i only noticedthe problem yesterday after transporting the infant to daycare for the first time.he was wearing a jacket that rode up and as i lifted him from the carrier exposing his back and a large red indent was visible on his lower back.a week ago i noticed a red mark on his back with a hole in the center that at the time i figured was a bug bite.the injuries to the child's back were probably not noticed earlier because he usually wears onesies that do not ride up when he is lifted up. Clearly the pain and suffering of riding in the seat was horrible for the infant who now fusses just looking at the seat and we must keep it from his view.i reported this issue to graco and was told i would be contact by a representative within 24 hours but i have not heard from them.

I am writing to advise you of a problem i recently had with a graco snugride infant car seat. I will let you know that i have already alerted the graco company as well as consumer reports. I purchased the car seat after the consumer reports came out stating this car seat was one of the best and safest car seats on the market. I agreed, and felt my daughter was in the safest car seat until about a week ago. I returned home from a quick trip to the grocery store and was going to take my daughter out of the car seat when i noticed her chewing on a white substance. I hadn't given her anything to chew on so i immediately began to extract it from her mouth. When i examined the substance i noticed it was a sort of material. Not knowing where it came from i started looking aroundthe car seat, and she had slipped her hand down the side of the material and pulled out the underlying 'fluff' again. I removed the fluff from her hand and then put my hand down where she had pulled it out of , and was flabbergasted at the gaping hole she had apparently been removing. The amount i extracted from her mouth was much less then what was missing and lead me to believe she had been doing this for sometime. I am and was extremely concerned as to how much she had ingested and god-forbid she had choked on this while i was driving.

The retracting clip on the graco snugride infant carrier/carseat that i use for my daughter broke.this caused the car seat release latch to not release the red plastic hook that holds the car seat to the base.the latch still released the metal clips that latch to the car seat base.

Graco snugride, model8646cjg child safety seat will not release from car seat base or stroller with only using the red handled release lever. Two hands and/or two people must release various components to extract the seat completely.

Dt: graco model # 7320uvb, when stopped drivingnoticed child safety seat was unsafe.the head of the child was pushed aside by the child safety seat as the child was strapped inside.there was no neck or head support.thought the child may have been injured by this.luckily child was only dazed.consumer was concerned due to the fact there was no support at all.was adamant that the child safety seat was properly installed by hospital staff to ensure safety.

I am a cps technician, while checking the graco sung ride child safety seat, model # 8f30slg3, date of manufacture february 8, 2008, i noticed that the level indicator did not move.after shaking the safety seat the level indicator move a little but not very much.when i put the carrier into the base the level indicator indicated thechild safety seat was not at the proper angle for the child.i tried several other graco sung ride carriers in the base and all of the other carriers indicated that the angle was correct.i did have a similiar incident about three weeks ago with another graco sung ride child safety seat with the same model number, but i do not remember the date of manufacturer.

But they will not fix it so in the mean time i cannot carry any child in the back seat because of safety belt concerns.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

My son keep getting his fingers stuck in the little open parts where the seat belt would go when its in the car. I have to pull his finger out and he has not had any serious injuries yet but he does this all the time and sometimes i have to get help to get his fingers out because he jams them in there so tight.
