No failure noted - issue is with identifying a recalled part on item made beyond the current listed recall window -- child car seatgraco snugride classic connect 35 infant car seatpurchased on january 31st, 2015 (amazon.com)unit was produced 08/24/2013, but has the recalled buckle [current buckle recall listed to end jan 31 2013 on graco's recall website)have been in contact with graco customer service over past month - am uncertain if they are expanding the recall window (after providing them pictures of buckle on car seat, the manufacturing sticker showing manufacture date, and a copy of the retail purchase invoice for the item) - customer service made it sound like they simply were providing new replacement buckles to parents that contact them. But their recall website is not currently informing that the recall window expands so far into the 2013 manufacturing year.just to end january wanted to let nhtsa know about this issue.

Straps are not staying tight even when the straps are adjusted.

The contact owns a graco snugride classic connect rearfacing infant seat, model number:1881779. The seat was manufactured on october 12, 2014. The child seat was utilized in a 2008 ford edge. The contact stated that the lever on the rear of the seat used to tighten the straps was jammed, which caused the entire safety seat to become unusable. The failure recurred multiple times and the manufacturer was not notified. The purchase date was unknown.

Graco classic connect 30 carseat. This unit uses a base in the vehicle which mounts to the carseat and locks it into position. There are 2 straps that run the length of the car seat underneath it, between the base and seat. The straps go from 2 into one via an adapter which happens to join right at the locking mechanism. Frequently the straps misalign and foul the locking mechanism. This causes several problems, the strap is no longer adjustable to cinch around the infant, the locking mechanism may not lock completely seat is loose in the base, last the seat may lock and straps will not be adjustable and becomes stuck in the base requiring an extreme amount of pressure on the release mechanism for the locking mechanism. This happens several times a week since the purchase of the carseat. I checked graco's website and it is not noted as an issue and there is not a recall for this particular problem.

Graco snugride classic connect 30 car seat handle failure causing uncontrolled and sudden rotation of carseat when carrying weight of child.graco contacted by email three times with no response and by phone twice with no response as to replacing the broken latching mechanism or advice on warranty or replacement. *dt *dt *dtconsumer stated the handle is removed because wehad too many problems trying to get it to lock into place in order to use it correctly and safely.during removal i saw a red tab on the inside that was part of the locking mechanism had been snapped on both sides and it was my inference that the only thing keeping it "locked", when we could get it to click into place, was the tab getting lodged into the locking mechanism.

The contact owns a graco snugride classic connect 30, model number: 1876907 and manufactured date june 5, 2013. The contact stated that the harness buckle was difficult to unhook and would have to use extreme force to get the child out. The manufacturer was notified of the failure.

The contact owns a graco snug ride car seat, model number: 1771712, manufactured on 8/26/2011. The contact stated that the harness buckle would become difficult to release whenever attempting to remove the child from the seat. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. A repair kit was ordered.
