I am a cpst in houston, tx and i have a concern in regard to the recent graco recall. As i understand it graco has not recalled their infant seats as they are designed to release from the base. With the recent recall i fell that i need to report a problem that i have seen in two graco infant seats in the past year. In both cases the parents were unable to release the carrier from the base. This happened during the summer/ fall of 2013. We were able to get the second case to finally release after removing the cover and noticing that a plastic part of the release mechanism had somehow come apart. The parent of the first case had to use a hacksaw to remove the seat from the car. I believe that the seat was stuck due to improper storage of the latch. Please let me know if you need more information regarding these instances.

We have a graco snugride 35 and it's extremely difficult to unlatch the buckle. This has always been a problem but lately (within the last two weeks) it's become even worse. My daughter's caregiver cannot snap or unlatch the buckle. I have not requested new parts for this model since online reports indicate that it's not my specific carseat that's the problem, but the design. If this problem worsens, we will have to cut the straps at some point...if this happened when we needed to expediently remove my daughter, we would definitely have to cut the straps.

The graco snugride click connect 35 (model: 1857151) is not always securing properly to the base.when rear facing, on several occasions we were shocked to discover that the car seat was not properly connected to the base when we thought it was.the manual does state that you need to push down and pull up, but unlike with other manufactures there is no sticker on the base to demonstrate this.in addition, if the car seat is tight up against the seat of the car, pushing and pulling on the handle bar could give a false sense that it is secure when it still is not connected at the front of the car seat (near babies feet). This is amplified when using the included car seat cover.other car seats have additional space between the end of the base and the car seat itself.i have posted a video to demonstrate what we were experiencing - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xt4ew9q1j5m.

Model number 1790731 snugride graco r35this is the worst infant car seat ever, it is unsafe , i because i struggle everyday to try to buckle my baby in. I can only buckle the top two with ease otherwise it is very very very hard to put the other two in.i have spoken to other parents with it and they have the same complaint..

Graco snugride 35model# 1759689date of manufacture: 03-01-10item of concern: the latch between child's legsi am concerned about the safety of my child's car seat. Each time that i get him out of this seat i must use two hands and sit in the floor with the seat and apply a ridiculous amount of pressure. It also seems to get stuck t times. ( when you have applied the pressure to the latch and let go of the latch you must tug on it a little because it gets stuck. I feel that this latch poses a major safety issue! you should b able to use one hand and apply light pressure to the latch and it should immediately release( which has always been the case with car seats i've owned with previous children) but its far from the case with this seat. I worry that if there is an accident how would a parent get their child out of this seat in a timely manner because it takes so long to get your child out of this seat.

The contact owns a graco safety seat, model name: snug ride click connect 35, model number: 1842907 and manufactured on february 22, 2013. The contact stated that the fabric seat cover was removed and discovered that the foam was deteriorated and the child safety seat was cracked. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and recommended replacing the safety seat.

I have owned my graco snugride 35 car seat, model # 1814657 since march 2013. The manufacture date is 10/17/2012. Over the past month, pieces of the soft foam padding about the size of a pencil eraser beneath the cloth cover began breaking loose and pulling through with the straps when loosening the car seat straps. Two times this week, two large chunks of foam, about the size of a nickel broke loose and fell into the carseat. My 5 month old picked up the foam and was about to put it in her mouth when i stopped her. I consider this to be a serious choking hazard. When the straps pull the foam through the foam often attaches to the strap at the shoulder level of my baby, right by her mouth. I contacted graco, who is sending a replacement for the foam, but i am concerned about the potential safety risk to other children if the foam detaches on other car seats in the same manner.

The harness is hard to open and get baby out.i have had to take baby out with harness latched due to it being stuck. Happens all the time now.have had the item for about 1 year.occurred to today again 3/31/14 during the day.occurs about 75% of the time.nothing done to correct issue yet.

When trying to put the rear-facing-only car seat on its base, it takes a lot of work to ensure it's fully attached. Sometimes the seat doesn't connect to the base all the way, posing a safety risk in the event of a crash.

Graco snugride 35, model# 1806993, manufactured 6/22/2015. Carseat is included in current harness buckle recall, but graco will not resolve issue. The buckle is difficult to buckle/unbuckle (defect covered by current recall). Graco sent replacement crotch strap, but it does not fit with this seat. Seat is not designed to have buckle removed/replaced; one crotch slot, metal plate on the end of crotch strap (original and replacement) is too big to fit through crotch slot. Contacted graco 10/26/2015, exactly one week ago, via the "contact us" link on their website, and have not received response.
