I have heard about the graco car seat buckle recall on the news.when i heard graco's explanation that they think the buckle problem is caused by food, my reaction was, xxxx!my graco snugride 30's buckle was very, very, very difficult to open straight out of the box.there have been several times, i have fully depressed the red button in the middle of the buckle and thought that the restraints had released only to find that only one had released and i was yanking my poor son out while his leg was still caught by the car seat strap on one side.it never occurred to me that, in a fire or crash, i would have a hard time getting my child out of the seat, too. Thank god i have not been in a crash, but it is scary.don't let graco get away with their cover-up/lies.the problem with the buckle is an engineering/design problem. Unless their workers are eating in their factory all over the seat buckle before the car seats are boxed and shipped for sale.(even so, that also would be a reason for a recall.)shame on graco.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
