I was using my brand new graco seat, manufactured with the new buckle, and the left clip, that goes into the crotch buckle, got stuck. It is a graco size4me 65 (not 70), model #1903754, manufactured 4/23/2014. These new buckles are not supposed to get stuck, like the old ones. Nothing was caught in it, nothing sticky has been spilled on it (yet), and i pushed the buckle in about a million different ways. After clipping and re-clipping the right side of the buckle (the side that was not stuck), the other side finally came undone. This is completely scary and unsafe. I posted it on a car seat safety group, and at least 3 other people have had the same problem, with the same brand of clip (all of them the new versions).

The harness release lever on the car seat has always been hard to tighten. Today my husband put our daughter in the car and the release lever popped right out making the carseat unusable. It's no longer secure enough for an accident. There is no way to correct the failure. We had to get another one sent by the extended warranty we purchased but have no access to a carseat for 7-10 days. Make: mysize 65 convertible car seat in reesemodel number: 1896361type: n/adate of manufacture: 12-22-2014component: harness release lever

Graco sizeforme65 has a weak belt lock system, the metal lock comes loose from the car seat easily and is only held by one small pin that could easily break in an accident.the belt going through that lock frays in lock and is undetectable unless you remove the car seat upholstery. Neither of these would hold a child in an auto accident and would result in the child being ejected from the vehicle.

On graco convertible car seats, the bottom latch is connected to the seat by a plastic piece. The piece that attaches the bottom latch to the car seat breaks when tightening the child into the seat. The bottom latch still works but it is not attached properly to the seat.the latch itself is difficult to tighten and one must pull very hard on the bottom strap to properly secure the child into the seat. I use the "pinch test" on the shoulder straps of my children every time to ensure they are strapped in tight enough; however, i routinely have trouble getting the straps tight enough, i frequently have to tighten the seat 3 or more times before the straps are tight enough to properly restrain my children. I have owned 3 convertible car seats that this has plastic piece has broken on.the first 2 seats were replaced under warranty by graco within the first year of ownership. The current seat i own is 5 months out of warranty and i have requested graco replace it given that this is the 3rd time it has happened to one of my seats. I am currently awaiting response. I am concerned about the safety of their seats given that they are so hard to tighten, i don't know how many parents are as diligent in tightening their children in, and, i am guessing i am not the only consumer who is experiencing their seats breaking. *dtconsumer stated 65 of the carseats have broken in the same manner.

Harness straps loosen while child is in the car seat. *dt

After buckling my 35 lb. Toddler into the graco size4me 65 (rear-facing), i was pulling the harness adjustment strap when i heard a loud snap.the metal lever that holds the harness strap tight is still in one piece, but the front plate of the lever popped out of place from the plastic in the front so can be moved. I cannot tell if it is possible or safe to pop it back in.i plan to discontinue use and call the manufacturer. We have used this car seat for a little more than a year.it was a hot 90 degree day.

Graco size4me with date of manufacture 8/5/2014.harness uneven and will not tighten fully when child is in the seat. A too-loose harness or uneven harness (looser on one side) can allow for injury or ejection from the seat in the event of a crash. After troubleshooting potential solutions, graco replaced the malfunctioning seat.

We received our graco mysize65 in july 2015. The convertible car seat was manufactured on 04-09-2015, the model number is 1903754.from the first time we have used it, it has been extremely hard to tighten the straps to secure my daughter, up to the point where i bruised my arm while pushing (my lower arm)on the armrest of the car seat to get more strength to pull the straps tight. It was still impossible for me to tighten the straps enough to pass the pinch test. My husband is stronger than me, so we used this car seat in his car and it wasn't used very often. Then on december 17, 2015 i noticed that the part of the guidance for the pull strap has come out of its anchors. I have been recommended by a car seat specialist to discontinue use and to report it.

I purchased this car seat in april 2015. I didn't begin using it until may 2015, and upon use, i noticed almost immediately that the harness straps would not stay tightened. My husband drove our vehicle and i sat in the back seat with our child (which is our typical arrangement), and i was able to see that the harness straps had slack in them within minutes after i tightened them. I would re-tighten the harness, and within a minute or two, the straps had loosened. This happened every time we used the seat. Since the harness straps would not stay tightened, the seat was unsafe and unusable. I contacted graco and explained the problem. Graco arranged to have the car seat picked up and shipped back to them, and they provided me with a new seat (the same kind of car seat that i was returning).

Grace size4me 65 model 1903754 man date august 5 2014 purchase oct 6th 2014 through amazon while tightening the metal bar holding the tightening mechanism broke off of the seat. The seat still could tighten, but the mechanism is now moving like a hindge on the seat rather than stationary. Graco was contacted. Said still safe to use, but offered replacement of entire seat or refund. Requested photos and asked for seat to be returned to them.

Harness straps loosen while child is in the car seat. *dt

In 2014, i purchaed a graco size4me 65 car seat.by the time my daughter was 2 years old, she was able to release the tension on the seat straps, as well as to undo the chest buckles on the seat.when i contacted graco, their response was to request a video of her doing this.when we looked at new car seats, the graco models have covers to prevent the release of the tension on the straps, so it is very apparent that they have known about this issue for some time.this is very dangerous, because at 2 years old, it is difficult to describe the danger to a child.

This complaint involves a convertible car seat that i received from graco as a replacement for a convertible car seat i'd previously purchased that was defective (the harness straps would not stay tightened, but that is a separate matter and i've filed a separate complaint about it).the convertible car seat that is the subject of this complaint had harness straps that were increasingly difficult to tighten and then became impossible to tighten. I used the car seat for approximately three months. The harness straps were never particularly easy to tighten, but over the course of time, for some reason tightening them because more and more difficult, to the point that eventually i was not able to tighten them sufficiently enough for my child to be safe. I was curious to see if other people had this same issue with this particular car seat, and after a google search, i found that i was not the only person having this problem. I found forums where people suggested various "fixes" to this problem, the most popular "fix" being to reach behind the seat and pull the harness straps from the back of the seat; the suggestions said that doing this will tighten the straps "enough." i tried this, and it didn't really work; it did allow me to tighten the harness straps, but they were still not tight enough to safely secure my child. It is absolutely not acceptable for users of child restraints to have to come up with "hacks" such as this to perform such basic and necessary tasks as tightening harness straps. I phoned graco and described the problem. Graco refunded my money after i emailed them photos showing that i had rendered the child restraint unusable (by cutting the harness straps). Because i'm currently living overseas, graco didn't arrange for the faulty seat to be taken back to their facility, nor did they offer to replace it (i wouldn't have accepted another replacement).

The adjustment strap of our convertible car seat, including the metal tab that you pull up to loosen straps, has became dislodged and is sitting irregularly from its original housing. It is causing the seat cover to bunch. The harness adjuster strap no longer seems secure.
