Graco car seat size4me 65model number: 1903755serial number: 3/26/2014since the purchase of this car seat, i have always felt that the harness did not tighten equally at each shoulder. I felt that in order to fix this issue, i had to "reset" the harness once a week, by loosening it entirely and raising and lowering the headrest a few times before adjusting it to fit my child. Today i removed the harness from the plates in the back to find that the straps are 2 very different lengths. The side that never tightened correctly is significantly longer than the side that does tighten correctly.

The graco headwise 70 was not a choice in the selections the form gave me but it is the same as the other graco clones (with the no re-thread harness feature) so i just selected the size4me 70. I know a lot of people who have had the same issue with all the clones. I had my headwise for about a month before the harness slowly started giving me a hard time. It slowly was getting harder to tighten and they started tightening unevenly. They never got tight enough to pass the "pinch test". Eventually it progressed to when i got to my destination the harness was loosened quite a bit and the looser strap was falling off my son's shoulder. It happened every single time we used the seat. I called and asked for a refund. They sent me a return label after about 1-2 weeks and then i mailed it overnight to them. They received and processed it and have now told me 4-6 weeks until i get a refund. Luckily i was able to have my father buy us a new replacement seat and i will pay him back but that is ridiculously long to wait for a refund. I can't imagine being without a seat that long if you needed the refund to purchase another seat. This is over $200 we are talking about here!

Graco size4me 70 carseat will not tighten in harness slot 1 and 2 and tightens unevenly in all other positions.

Graco my size 70 carseat will barely tighten and when it does it is uneven.

I have a graco size 4 me model # 1822614 and my son is 3 yrs old. My seat is about 9 months old. Recently the crotch buckle has not wanted to buckle or unbuckle. We do not eat in the car. I have checked for spills or something in it and blown it out. It has gotten to the point where it is every time we use this seat. I am not sure that i can get my son out of it anymore since he is so large i can not just loosen the straps and slide him out if it were to get permanently stuck. I have discontinued use of this seat.

I just purchased a graco mysize 70 odyssey carseat at babies r us on 12/7/2013.i had consulted a friend, who is a carseat technician, and read a number of online reviews about the seat before deciding to order it.my only concern was that many reviews commented on trouble with tightening the straps/harness to be snug enough for a safe fit.however, i was assured that this was from earlier models and that the problem had been corrected in models made later this year.i made the assumption that the faulty models would have been pulled from the stores by graco.however, we just installed the seat and cannot fully tighten the straps to make it safe enough for our daughter.the harness locks up about 1-2" from being tight against her body and will not move any farther, which is clearly not safe.the only way to adjust the straps tightly enough is to remove the child from the seat, guess how tightly the straps need to be pulled, and then try it out with the child in the seat again.after looking up my model/manufacture information, i realize that i must have purchased one of the defective seats, as the manufacture date is from february of this year (2013).from online reviews, it appears that graco knows about this problem and is replacing these carseats with newer models that can be properly tightened with a child in the seat.i am surprised that graco is still allowing these unsafe carseats to be sold.

We purchased a graco mysize 70 for my son, it has been used for approximately one year. We have two cars that are used interchangeably and each vehicle has its own seat. The seat is sometimes not used at all in 24-48 hrs other times it is used multiple times. Today when i went to remove him from the seat the red button that releases the buckle would not push down. I had to loosen the straps completely and pull him out through the still buckled harness. Had this been one of my older larger children i would have had to cut the straps. In an emergency i would not have been able to quickly remove my child from the seat. Graco is supposed to be sending me a shipping label to return my seat. When they get my seat they will send me a new one. I am lucky that i have another seat to use for him while i wait for the new one, but i know a lot of parents don't. I am not sure what i would have done if i didn't have a back up seat for him.you system did not have the mysize 70 or the model listed as an option. I know the size4me 70 is the same seat (just a different name for a different retailer) so that is what i chose.

The harness of my graco size4me convertible seat does not tighten evenly enough to pass the pinch test on one side.this began after 3 days after purchase.

The contact owns a graco size4me 70 convertible child seat, model number: 1831775 and manufactured on november 14, 2012. The contact stated that the harness buckle became stuck whenever she attempted to latch or release it. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The child seat was not replaced.

I bought a gracomy size 70, and the harness does not work properly. I am not able to loosen/ tighten and buckle it in a satisfactory manner. I called graco and the representative told me that there is a 'trick' involved in getting the harness tight enough. You apparently need to pull the buckles down to the crotch area and then tighten, however i think that it needs to be simpler than that for some this like a car seat. There should be no rigging involved. It's also hard to unbucklemy child and loosen the straps. One of the straps is tethered the wrong way, and the babies r us employee said that is a manufacturer defect but did not swap out the car seat.i am very disappointed and think that this is a safety issue. This is a higher priced car seat, graco should be ashamed.

My child's harness and buckle on her child restraint does not work properly. The harness will not tighten and the buckle takes massive amounts of force to release, if it will release at all.

The harness on our my size 70 does not tighten. We have an 11 month old rear facing. When we first got the seat it worked fine, but over time will no longer properly tighten.

Harness won't tighten enough to safely restrain child.

We purchased the graco size4me in late september & the harness adjustment has never worked properly to get the harness snug enough to not be able to pinch any webbing at the collarbone. To make it work we have had to reach around the back of the seat & pull the harness snug manually from the back & then, while keeping it pulled snug from the back, pull the adjustment strap. Now this no longer works either & the harness will not adjust when installed rear-facing & with a child (under the 40 lb limit) seated in the seat. We have tried extending the harness all the way out & pulling it back, as well as extending the headrest all the way up & then putting it back into position -- both solutions recommended by graco, and neither worked. The harness will not adjust rear-facing with a child in the seat. Our son was only 14 lbs when we purchased the seat & is 20 lbs now; well below the limit.

I purchased a graco mysize 70 on 3-2-12 (manufacture date of 12-6-12) and now that it is installed in my vehicle i am finding it impossible to tighten the harness so that my child is safe in the seat when rear-facing. I have tried everything and put all my strength into it and it doesn't budge. The seat is unsafe as is. Sent graco an email as well.

I owned the graco size4me 70. The harness would tighten properly if a child was not in the seat, but once the child was placed in the seat it was nearly impossible to get the harness tight enough to pass the pinch test. It usually took about 5 minutes to do this and i was the only one within the family able to get it tight enough. Due to this, i would usually not loosen the harness so that i would not have to retighten it. This would not have been too much of an issue except that the buckle release is extremely difficult to push and often took great amounts of pressure (made even more difficult since i did not want to have to loosen the harness). I notified graco of the issue. They offered me a refund for the car seat and i sent the seat back to them.

I have a graco size4me 70 car seat manufactured on 3/29/13. I purchased it on 1/25/14 and did not start using it until june of 2014. I recently went to take the cover off to wash it and noticed that one of the foam headwings was broken off. I called graco and they said that the seat was not usable in that condition, that the part was not replaceable and they sent me a new seat. Kind of scary that a seat that is supposed to last for 7 years only lasted a year before a part broke off that is not replaceable and renders the seat unusable.
