My husband and i were driving our 2003 ford windstar when it was hit by another vehicle traveling at a high speed. The impact was on the passage side back wheel and caused our van to roll over. However, the passenger side aid bag did not deploy. Also, the latches that connect the rear seats to the floor released from the two seats at the middle row. Seven days later ford recalled 257,119 windstar minivans because the latches that connect the rear seats to the floor could release in an accident......ford windstar is a very unsafe car, specially if you use it with children!!

With regular, normal use of our graco 4ever car seat the indicator line on the recline level has worn off nearly completely. This has made insuring a proper recline of the seat impossible, leaving the child vulnerable during a crash. The recline level is not a replaceable part so the replacement of the entire seat was necessary. The seat was sent back to graco for an exchange of seats. Updated 09/10/15*lj

Consumer states many problems with the child safety seat, when infant had a light weight jacket on, the straps were very tight, when the baby was at the height where the 2nd slot could be used, again the straps were too tight when a jacket was being worn, when the higher slots are used, the straps get stuck into the base, a safety technician checked the seat and stated the seat has some play and when the seat is lifted, it separates from the base a couple of inches. (graco child safety seat man-8-24-99)

I am a child passenger safety technician. I assisted a client today with the installation of a graco "cargo" child restraint model # 8487bel edom 08/31/04. In trying to install the seat in the passenger side rear outboard location of a toyota tundra access cab truck, i found it essentially impossible to secure the tether (top strap).the vehicle manual is poorly illustrated and the path for threading the strap behind the seat is impossible with the typical 2 inch hook type tether.please review the manual & check the vehicle.i eventually installed the seat in the center with great difficulty using the instructions for the center tether installation.these instructions are really unacceptable.

The consumer stated that she has 2 of the graco 4ever all in one convertible carseats and wants to report a defect. Her 20 month old can unbuckle the chest strap with ease. *dt*as

The built-in lock-off on the base will not lock and remains in an open position at all times.we currently have the base isntalled with latch, but would be unable to install with a seat belt due to this defect.it is a graco snug ride 35 and the model number is 8a10fnr, date of manufacture 05/05/2007.it has never been in a crash and we know the complete history on the seat.the failure of the lock-off was discovered by a certified child passenger safety technician at a car seat check on 11/20/2010.

The contact owns a graco contender 65 convertible child safety seat, model number: 1893287 and manufactured november 18, 2013. The contact stated that a 4-month old child was able to place their fingers between the head support and the harness strap of the seat, causing lacerations to the child's fingers on both hands.the contact notified the manufacturer of the defect but no solution was offered. The contact was advised that someone would contact her at a later date in reference to the incident.

I have a graco headwise 70 child seat for my car.model # 1859954 date of manufacture was 12/4/2012i purchased this car seat in the beginning of february for my 3.5 yr old after her other car seat was in an accident.i had tightened the seat up for our travels and made sure the harness straps were night and secure.when i got to my destination they were loose and she is not able to reach the clasp used to loosen them.the first time i thought it was an error on my behalf so i just double checked them when we would leave.didn't happen again so i figured that i was right and the first time was an error.then a few days later it happened again, i asked my kids if anyone loosened her seat and they said no.not 100% convinced i told them it was dangerous for any of them to touch it and that they would be in trouble if i caught them messing with it.again no other issues for a few days.then today i was leaving a friends house i put my daughter in her seat (she and i were the only 2 in the car) i tightened the straps as they were supposed to be and drove home.she had to go potty and was wiggling around a lot in her seat trying to get out.when i got home to unbuckle her they were loose again.she still is unable to reach the release lever on the car seat so her wiggling loosened them up.i feel this is a defective seat and am really starting to question the other times they came loose.i did call graco and they agreed to offer me a full refund after i returned the seat and they are mailing me a shipping label, but i felt this needed to get out as straps loosening while driving whether a wiggly kid or not is completely unsafe.if the force of a struggling child loosens them i would hate to see what a crash would do to the straps.i feel this issue needs to be addressed.thanks for your time and attention in this matter.

Simply, my daughters car seathas failed to unlatch multiple times the past few weeks. At first i thought it was simply from maybe something being stuck in the latch (food or debris).about two days ago i took my daughter to the grocery store where the latch worked fine. When we returned home i had to call my husband outside to remover her since i was unable to unbuckle her. After finally getting her out of the seat my husband brought he car seat inside and tried to see what was causing it to not unlatch. He found nothing. He lubricated the buckle but we have yet to place it back in our vehicle for fear that it wont unbuckle again.

Cpsc: graco nautilus; model 1909486. I went to strap my son into his graco nautilus car seat. When i tightened using the adjustment strap on the front of the seat, the strap above my son's right shoulder tightened andbut the strap on his left shoulder did not move. I then loosened the straps to try again. When the consumer tugged on the strap, she noticed there was no resistance, so she pulled it and the entire strap came off the car seat at the shoulder. She stated she did not yank it hard, she just pulled it forward.for some reason, the strap had come off the metal junction plate on the back. She pulled out the entire car seat, and re-threaded the strap through the slots.

I just purchased a graco my ride 65 on monday, july 20th.on sunday, july 26 as i was tightening the harness, i heard and felt a pop where thetightening strap connects to the seat.when i uninstalled the seat andlifted the seat cover, i can see where the metal snaps under 2 plastictabs and it has popped out.the metal piece still appears to be securebut i can see where-with continued use-the plastic where it is attachedcan weaken and break.i can also tell that this probably occurredbecause i am using the seat rear facing and that in order to tighten theharness, i have to pull up on the tightening strap instead of down(because of its location against the back of the seat); and possiblybecause i live in mesa arizona and it was 110 degrees possibly makingthe plastic slightly softer.i am unable to snap the metal back underthe plastic tabs and i am concerned about my son's safety in this seatwith continued use.i am going to return my son to his snugride fornow, but he is nearly 22 pounds.please let me know if there issomething i can do to continue to use this seat as i love that it goesrear facing to 40 pounds.thank you. (this is the e-mail i sent to graco)they responded and i e-mailed them pictures of the problem.they have now are sending me a return mailing label to send the car seat back to them and when they receive the car seatthey will be sending me a full refund for the car seat.this is a very new car seat and is not included on your model list:myride 65 model#:1757838.

Graco comfortsport model number: 8632ps0 serial number: 013006 and 013106. Two carseats owned, both experienced the same failure.while changing one of the car seats to our other car, i detected a vertical crack through the styrofoam backing under the fabric cover of the seat at the corner between the back and the side of the seat.the vertical crack was completely through the styrofoam, causing what appears to be the main component of the side impact protection to be completely detached from the seat. Upon discovering this issue, i checked our other identical seat and found that it experienced the same failure.

The complaint for the following seat does not involve a crash, this is a note by a cps/parent using the seat.graco high back booster model 8481, cover does not stay in place, with clips and elastic provided, may lead parents to feeling secure about positioning of seat belt on a child.have original cover and replacement that graco sent.this seat does better in a bucket type seat as opposed to a bench type seat, but we still have the same problem with a bucket type seat.

Model: 1805717jj name: argos 70this model is not listed in the graco products; which i purchased about 12months ago and i was hoping it will last until my daughter no longer needs a restrain device since this model is a convertible product that expands upward as the child grows.however, the piece that locks the child restrain seat belt gets stock when locked and does not want to open.i have had to force it open a few times but i feel it's more dangerous to close the restrain device seat belt because in the even of an emergency i might not be able to get my daughter out of danger in time.

Out of the blue, the plastic back of one of the metal clips that inserts into the bottom buckle of the harness on our graco nautilus car seat broke off. The metal clip is not available as a replacement part alone; one is required to purchase an entire replacement harness from graco. The graco company appears to be aware of this defect; the representative i spoke with was quite nonchalant about saying that the seat is not safe to use with the plastic back broken, that the part is known to break off, and that customers must purchase an entire replacement harness, even though graco is aware of this defect. However, the replacement harnesses are currently out of stock and may not be available until june! the representative's attitude was one of, "too bad... You are on your own" when asked what car seat users were supposed to do while waiting for the harnesses to become available - this is not acceptable! not everyone can go out and purchase another car seat to use while waiting to purchase a replacement part for something graco knows to be defective! graco nautilus model 8j00rse, manufactured in january, 2009.

Graco model # 8487blu, dom 02-09-2003; consumer states that while driving the child can easily unlock him self from the child seat. Manufacturer notified.

Car seat safety hazard: my 11 month year old daughter was able to easily reach under the fabric cover of her infant car seat and rip off pieces of the foam.she inserted these pieces into her mouth and almost choked.graco does not attach the fabric to the edge of the car seat.it was very distracting for me, the driver, to keep watching to make sure that my daughter wasn't pulling off the foam (or choking on it) while i was driving.i replaced the seat with another brand.

Graco child safety seat failed ( model/8446lvin). *mr*scc *nlm

I am a former certified child passenger safety technician. I purchased 2 graco my size 70 child safety seats(1807015). Installed in multiple vehicles in rear-facing orientation, and used with a 30 lb, 13-month-old, male child. Verified the seat adjustments and harness height are correct. While the seat installs well in the vehicles, the harness system appears to have a potential design flaw. With no child in the seat, the harness will sufficiently tighten with no restriction by pulling the harness adjustment strap on the front of the seat. However ? with a child in the seat, pulling the harness adjustment strap will pull most of the slack out of the harness system, but with approximately 1 ? 2? of slack left in the harness, which becomes restricted and extremely difficult to pull the remaining slack from the harness. My wife is unable to pull the harness tight enough to properly restrain our son, based on the ?pinch test? and her ability to insert multiple fingers between his shoulders and the harness straps. With significant force, i am able to tighten, but requires pulling the slack forward along the bottom front aspect of the seat and feeding it forward through the release mechanism of the seat while pulling the adjustment strap with my other hand. I've verified that the harness system has no restrictions until it passes through the harness release mechanism on the front of the seat. I'm wondering if the issue has something to do with resistance of the child in the seat and the angle at which the adjustment strap is being pulled through the release mechanism. I have experienced the identical issue on 2 separate identical seats with different manufacture dates. Online reviews suggest others experiencing this issue. I would imagine some children are not restrained tight enough if utilizing this child safety seat. I have discussed my concerns with graco, who has forwarded to their child safety seat group and will follow up with me. Please follow up with me, as well.

I have the graco infant safeseat model number 7b13emm3. I don't see this model on your list under graco models. The casing on the buckle system is cracking and breaks off in little pieces. I have had this carseat for a little over 3 months and just regular buckling and unbuckling has caused the plastic that covers the buckle to crack and break off. My daughter is a bit young still but if she was a couple of months older she could grab the pieces put them in her mouth and choke. I have contacted the company about the problem and they are sending me a new buckle system.

The contact owns a2006 graco child restraint seat (na) manufactured on 05/06/2006 with model number 7b00bda inside of her 2004 buick rendezvous. The handle of the infant carrier became loose while transporting the child to the vehicle. As a consequence, the handle broke, the infant fell onto the cement surface which caused injury to the infant's forehead. The ambulance transported the child to the hospital. The infant was secured by a "convertible" child restraint seat; however, the failure occurred outside of the vehicle. The vin was not available. The contact was in the process of notifying the manufacturer.

The graco extend2fit convertible car seat is impossible to tighten now that i have turned it to forward facingfor my 2 year old. When she was rear facing i could grab the straps behind the seat and pull on them toeffectively tighten the straps but now that she is forward facing there isnt access to do this so pulling on thestrap between her legs is the only way to tighten the seat' straps. This tightens the straps to what i wouldestimate is 75% of what the tightness should be so she is not secure or safe whatsoever. And to get them to this75% tightness, i physically have to use all my strength to get it there. I have looked over the seat and cannot seeanything wrong with the routing that is causing it. It is truly a flawed design that should be issued a stop use andrecall. There are numerous reviews on their website for this product of people claiming this same flaw so theyhave to be aware of the issue.

Please provide model number, date of manufacture and description of defect in the child safety seat.

The contact owns a 2016 graco grow with me forward facing child seat, model number: 1906082 (na). The seat was manufactured on january 7, 2019. The contact stated that the straps on the child seat were loose and it was very easy for the child to slip out of the seat. No matter what the contact did to tighten the straps, the child figured out how to get out of the seat while the contact was driving. Previously, the contact had to pull over and tighten the straps because the child got out of the seat and tapped the contact on the shoulder. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer was notified and did not assist.

Graco-car seat/ booster seat. Mrthe consumer stated the coupling device on the car seat should be redesigned with a plastic device, because the hard plastic device in which the child would be secured by could become injured if the vehicle was rear ended at a high rate of speed. The device would no doubt move forward and the device could strike the child in the throat.

My 7 month old daughter was very happy and comfortable. About a month after using it, i went to put her in the seat and the left side of the overhead bar came out of its' socket completely. As in another review, i found a spring had come loose. Luckily i was given a gift receipt and exchanged it for another. Again, one month later, the same side is loose and clicks. I returned it and bought the graco comfort sport. The manager of the toys r us told us upon returning it that the overhead bar car seats were soon to be banned for safety reasons. In any event, my baby loved the comfort sport as soon as she was in it.it frees her hands to hold her books and play with her toys, which she could not do freely in this seat." end.*nlm

The line that is imprinted on the recline indicator is no longer there.this makes it extremely challenging to find an acceptable recline level.the bubble is still there and working properly but without the line, there is no way to really know if the seat is at an approved recline while rear facing.

Graco safe seat model # 7b00bda car seat carrier does not release from car seat base. After multiple tries, i could not release the carrier from the base. A certified technician could not release the car seat from the base as well. She and i made a call to graco and graco did not have an answer as to why the base would not release the carrier.

We bought the infant safe seat in january of 2008. Model number 8a16ctm, serial number jj200711101047. Our baby was born in february of 2008. A few weeks ago i noticed foam in her mouth and in her car seat. I inspected the car seat and figured out she was pulling the foam out from the padding in her car seat and eating it. This is a terrible choking hazard for such a young baby, not to mention the internal damage this foam could have on her stomach. I tore the foam that she could reach out of the car seat for a temporary fix. I contacted graco regarding this matter and they told me they would send me a replacement pad for the ripped foam. Obviously this would not solve the problem, considering she would just rip it out again.

Installed my daughter's seat with latch, my son rode in it once before she was born (he had been sick and lost enough weight that he was under the weight limit so i let him when he asked), and the latch came undone!! i then reinstalled it using the seat belt, good tight install.brought her home from the hospital, no more problems with the seat.as soon as she got big enough to click the harness up one, the harness was not tightening easily and it was loosening itself.i would retighten and then one side would be too tight and the other too loose because it was not tightening evenly and then would loosen up again.also the headrest rattles when brought above the 3rd position.i have contacted graco as i know this harness issue is a problem for many with the size4me70/mysize70 and have had returns and replacements made.i will be receiving a replacement within a couple of weeks and plan to give it another try.(related vehicle information: model year=2014, make=stratus, model=dodge).

Received a new graco extend2fit 3n1 child restraint. This is a new model and not listed as an option in the complaint form.only one side of the rear facing foot tray support bar is attached to the seat. The foot tray is not sturdy without the support bar, attached only by a plastic lip. The support bar is missing the pin or grommet piece that would attach it to the shell.i am a cpst and consider this to be a structural defect.i would not have noticed if i had not just installed a extend2fit convertible that did not have this issue.the issue has been reported to graco.

One side ofcar seat isn't locking into the base.conumer will contact the dealer.

Concern that only one connector strap locks on graco affx booster seat after connector clips are attached to latch brackets. Other one does not lock in so seat can be pulled out on one side. Called graco a bit ago and they said this is "normal" and not a design flaw. However, instructions suggest pulling on straps will hold seat in tight until release button is pushed. I am reading similar complaints in on-line reviews as well as others who say this is not a problem....which sounds like it is a problem!. Bottom line: with one side of this seat not locking tight like the other side and able to slide loose from flush against the back of the vehicle seat, is this booster seat safe for my child to use, i.e., does it retain all its approved crash safety features whether the seat is locked in tight (as some users appear to be able to do) or slides loose on one side with slight pulling, such as may occur in the event of an impact??note: couldn't find description of booster in dropdown list further on. Is graco affix booster, model 1839168(related vehicle information: model year=2002, make=ford, model=escape).

Tl- the contact stated that when she straps her child into the seat as she drives the restraints loosen.

While removing the child safety seat from the base the handle came apart from the css, andconnecting bracket disconnected from the body of the seat.

I purchased a graco safeseat step 2 for a toddler weighing between 20 and 40 pounds. Before its original use, i looked the carseat over, and it was in new condition. I bought it new from target. After its very first use in the car, where it was carefully and properly installed, i took it out to change cars. It dropped 14 inches or so, and the impact foam was damaged. There was a crack above the highest shoulder harness slot from a very small impact. Graco offered me a $10 off my next graco car seat purchase and i was told not to use the car seat again. If such a small drop made the carseat useless, a 35-mile-per-hour impact would completely destroy the carseat, and could potentially kill the child in the car seat. The impact foam may not meet legal safety standards. The company did very little to correct the initial problem. I returned the car seat to the store and purchased a different brand. After researching farther, i have seen that other people have reported similar problems with broken eps foam; breaking off during installation of car seat, cracked upon opening the box, and other failures.

We were using a graco infant restraint/carrier (model 8446ldw, serial jj0109030724) with a baby trend snap n' go stroller.my husband was having difficulty releasing and removing the carrier from the stroller when a plastic piece, the "attachment latch," of the car seat broke off.he did not realize the significance of this plastic piece at first, and we used the carrier in the car seat base in the car for a bit before i questioned how well the carrier was attaching.then i realized it was hardly attaching at all, because most of the attachment latch had broken off, and i suspected the car seat would not have protected my baby in case of an accident.

The contact owns a 2006 chevrolet cobalt.the contact also owns a graco child seat, model 8690cnn (na).the seat was manufactured on july 16, 2006.while the contact's child was seated in the child safety seat, the buckle could be easily released with little force.he stated that the buckle did not have a child safety resistance device.a buckle mechanism was ordered from the manufacturer and replaced; however, the failure recurred without a resolution.the contact was concerned of the safety risk involved.the purchase date of the child seat was unknown.

None of these graco size4me 70 car seats are listed in your database:model:1855693 manufacture date:2012/07/29model:1831775 manufacture date:2012/11/30model:1855692 manufacture date:2012/08/05i bought three graco size 4 me 70 car seats to have one in each of my vehicles.unfortunately, there is a serious design flaw with the harness.graco customer service is sending me fed ex labels to return all 3 seats for a full refund.however, i believe this seat should be recalled.when pulling the belt to tighten the harness the strap gets caught on the back of the seat.there is a little bulge where the strap is sewn into a loop.this bulge snags on the plastic guide and no matter how hard i pull i cannot get the seat to tighten.the only solution is to reach around to the back of the seat and lift the belt up over the plastic guide with one hand as you tighten the belt in the front with the other.our baby is rear facing.i don't know how this would be possible forward facing.i have also found that the left and right side of the harness do not tighten evenly, so you end up with one side that is loose.this is obviously not safe.graco says the solution is to pull the legs tight, then slide the chest harness all the way down before pulling the belt tight.however, this did not seem to make a difference for me.i would bet good money that there are lots of people driving around with loose belts thinking that since they pulled until the belt is tight they are ok and not realizing that the belt is snagged and their babies are not safe.

Graco safe seat model 8boobdr, date 020706. Traveling down the highway today, my 2-year old was able to unlatch the 5-point harness. Contender 65 convertible car seat model #1933763 purchased in may 2016.my 26-month old child is able to unbuckle the chest strap with ease. We have been using the graco 4ever car seats since 2015. During this time, we have had 3 different car seats with the same issue. The straps on the seat will not tighten enough to secure my child safely following the finger pinch rule on the shoulder. No matter how hard you pull on the tightening strap, the chest straps still have a gap when pinched. I am writing because we have had 3 of the exact same graco car seat models (sent and replaced by graco) and all 3 seats have had the same problem. The last time i called they simply offered me a refund, instead of recalling the seat or looking for he actual problem/cause to the faulty straps. I feel these seats need to be investigated properly to ensure the safety of all consumers who might be using a faulty seat and be unaware.

I have a graco 4ever car seat. I went to put my son in his seat and the chest clip was warped/melted. It would not clip. I live near chicago. It was 80 degrees. This seat has been in my car for 15 months and survived a whole summer of hotter temps. This was on a sunday. Monday morning i called graco customer service. The first person i spoke with didn't seem to care about my situation or about the fact that i was out a car seat. The best she could do was send me a replacement chest clip in 3 days. I called later a spoke with a wonderful person who cared about my problem. She told me that she couldn't find anything as to how/why/or if this has happened before. And told me she could over night me a new chest clip. Well it's tuesday night and i still don't have a chest clip or a car seat for my oldest. I also know, thanks to facebook, that this happened to a person in texas. I'm really concerned about the safety of my whole seat.

I am writing due to concerns i have about my graco comfort sport car seat. I have my son front facing with the straps in the highest slot. The problem i am having is the left strap will not get tight enough even after i've re-adjusted the straps and guide them in while i am tightening straps up. I've consulted the owners manual and re-adjusted the seatmany times and i still have the same issue. I've even had other people read the manual and adjust it with the same result.as a result i cannot get the harness on the car seat secure.i also posted this issue on several on-lin baby boards and was astounded to hear that more than 20 people have also had/have this same problem. As a result i have asked them to file complaints with nhtsa and graco. Even if it isn't a "defect" in the seat it allows too much of a margin of user error in my humble opinioni contacted graco here and was pretty much instructed to either replace the harness or stop using the product.

This isn't a report of a new problem. This is a compliant against grace for handling of a recall. We had a car seat that was recalled and it took both parents actively trying to find info on their website to find the order form for a replacement harness. Their website was not clear at all. Once we found the information we completed the form and then they charged us for shipping. It doesn't seem right that they make it difficult to find safety information then charge us money.

The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The purchase date was unknown.

Graco 4everssmodel number 1939912 jjdate of manufacturer 2016/10/17my 2 year old daughter while properly restraint in the car seat is able to touch and press the release for the tension on the straps.she then leans forward and is able to loosen the straps.i am referring to the button that one pushes to make the straps less tight on a child.i have reached out to graco and have been ignored. ..vin not available updated 10/29/18

I was buckling my grand daughter into her rear facing car seat, and the strap came unattached from the splitter plate. It came entirely out.

We have a graco headwise 70.fiance was tightening it (and it's incredibly hard to tighten) and broke the base of the latch/button that allows loosening of the restraints (and where the strap to tighten comes out from.it doesn't *seem* to effect the tightening/loosening, but it does move a little when you're adjusting the straps.. It looks like the metal holes went behind the plastic nubs, and we can't get it back again.(i hope that makes sense, it's hard for me to describe.)i have contacted graco and am waiting a reply.note: on the next page where it asks for carseat info the only option under this seat is "booster" but it is not a booster, it's a convertible car sear, and we use it rearfacing.

Make: graco 4 ever car seatmodel #: 1906081jjdate of manufacture: 7/10/2014component: the release lever for the 5 point harness is with in reach of child- child can release and loosen harness while car is in motion. Make graco my size 70model # 1807015jjdate of manufacture: 6/22/2013component: the release lever for the 5 point harness is with in reach of child- child can release and loosen harness while car is in motion. My 3 year old son is able to reach the five point harness release lever on his car seat. He is fastened in correctly and while the car is moving he is now releasing the harness lever which enables him to loosen the harness and then climb out of the car seat. I have contacted the maker of the car seat graco and the only solution they had was to buy a different model car seat and hope that he cannot reach the release. I have another car seat that is also a graco but different model and sadly my 3 year old can release the harness tension on this seat as well. If my child can do this i am sure there are other children doing this as well. These seats need to be recalled immediately before a child gets hurt or killed in an accident. It was terrifying to see my 3 year old in his car seat with a loosened harness while i was driving on the freeway. I pulled over immediately and retightened the straps. If we would have been in an accident the car seat would not have protected him and he could have been seriously injured or even killed.

Cpsc: graco contender 65: consumer stated while putting the toddler into the carseat the harness straps would pull to one side, and the right strap would fail the pinch test. *ss

The contact owns a graco safety seat, model number: 4360-37928 (na). The seat was manufactured on july 29, 2015. The safety seat was being utilized in a 2016 nissan rogue. The contact stated that the safety seat straps were loose and detached from the safety seat buckle, which caused the child's head and upper body to slump over the safety seat. The child was in the safety seat at the time of the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The purchase date was unknown.

The contact owns a graco convertible child restraint seat, model number: lapc0098b, manufactured june 13, 2011. The contact stated that the straps on the child seat had fallen off. The contact tried to adjust the straps from behind but to no avail. The contact stated that the child was able to get out of the child seat because it would not secure properly. The manufacturer was not contacted to report the failure.

The contact owns a graco child seat, model 1757133, manufactured 8/21/09. The contact stated that a passenger was able to unlatch the harness. The manufacturer was contacted who offered to send him a repair kit. He denied the offer since he believed the child would still be able to disconnect it.

The graco safe seat lever that loosens straps becomes stuck in the open position. The straps seem to stay tight, but i worry that it would make the harness fail in a crash. I previously had a different graco saferide seat that also had a defect. That one was not latching into the base correctly. Graco bought that seat back from me sono longer have the model number to report it properly as a separate incident.

"graco 4 ever deluxe" car seat (manufactured april 2019) has a design flaw which i am sure impacts many toddler age children.my 2 year old (24 months) can easily release the chest restraining strap by himself. He can do this while the car is in motion.he is unwilling to accept verbal direction due to his age. This is a significant safety issue. The booster seats in my kitchen are better equipped to restrain my son. *dt *dt'parts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).'

Cpsc# i1330075a. Graco affix booster. Consumer stated the latch connecter was malfunctioning. *lnthe consumer stated the latch connector on one side, stayed tight until the release button was pressed. However, on the other side, the connector could easily be pulled out all the way without the release button being pressed at all. The manufacturer agreed to replace the seat.serial # 1676376

Dt: graco model # 7350d0h2,the contact stated there were no instructions in the manual of thechild safety seat on how to loosen the latch belt. On one occasion the belt got threaded incorrectly, and she needed slack to reverse it,but was unable to obtain the slack.it was installed correctly, and therefore it was impossible to get enough slack needed in order to remove the safety seat from the latch system.

Graco model # 4545mcb, the location/material of the warning label is unsafe because the toddlerwas able to remove the label and almost choked on it.

Approx. 2 years ago the local chp placed a century/graco convertible car seat with a woman named ashley bartow in redding, ca.she brought the seat back to the chp to have it checked and all of the labels were curled under, flaked off, and the model # and mfg. Date was unreadable.we were forced to replace the seat with a cosco model.it was agreed by two technicians that the labels should not have disintegrated in the car like that and two years isn't nearly long enough for the labels to be so destroyed, when the seat was left in the car and not put into water or scrubbed.century/graco needs to consider changing the materials they use to make their labels so that the labels last longer on their seats.thank you.

The contact owns a 2008 graco rearfacing infant seat, model 8a02cnp (na).the seat was manufactured on july 2, 2006.the contact stated that her daughter was able to lift the fabric under the seat, pull out the foam, and consume the foam.the contact was able to remove the foam from the child's mouth without causing any harm.the child is 11 months old and weighs 22 pounds.the contact feels that this is a safety issue because there was no place on the safety seat to hold the fabric in place so that it is not accessible for a child to discover and consume the foam cushion.she submitted a written complaint online to the graco manufacturer.the infant seat has been replaced.the purchase date was unknown.

I am writing to inform you of a possible safety hazard issue.i purchased the graco pedic luxury foam platinum cargo booster car seat about a year ago (model # 8do1zph, mfg. Date 09/05/06).i have contacted graco for the second time regarding this issue.the first time, they apologized and sent me a new piece, however within the year of receiving the piece i still have the same issue.the issue is the styrofoam which i believe they call "eps foam" is falling apart (in pieces and chunks).i have huge chunks of pieces that i can send to you if need be.i believe that this is a safety issue considering several kids can attempt to eat it.i don't understand why the styrofoam is not attached / glued on like the previous car seat i had (for example the evenflo triumph).the evenflo triumph car seat eps foam seems to be different foam consistency and seems to be glued on vs. The graco foam is unattached and has the consistency of packaging styrofoam.i am extremely concerned and disappointed with the car seat purchased.the reason why i purchased the car seat was due to the fact of the consumer reports safety report.

Consumer was t-boned while turning left. Her daughter's head bounced back and forth on the car seat which fractured her head in three spots. She went into a coma and died two days later from internal bleeding (century smartfit). *ph

My 3 years old son was injured while seated in a graco all in one car seat.car seat caused a hematoma to my son's left forehead and son had to be taken to hospital by ambulance.

I purchased a graco hedwise 70 two years ago. Graco apparently is using cheap glue, to adhere the foam to theheadrest on the shell of the seats. When i removed the cover to wash it, the foam was not attached any longer to the headrest.graco said i can no longer use the seat.there should be a recall. People are getting two years or less, ( i'm not even sure when it became detached) out of these seats. These seats should get consumers up to 6 years use out of them. At a cost of up to$200 each. Graco has several seats that have foam just glued to their head rest. If they're going to tell consumers they can no longer use the seat, and only offer a 20 to $40 rebate it's not even worth the product.there really needs to be a recall issued for all these seats. We need full refunds. All of the graco seats - headwise, size 4 me, my size, contender. Also the new graco extend 2 fit and the graco 4ever.

Recently my daughter moved from a car seat to a booster seat.on the way home she fell asleep.when i turned the corner, she moved around like a crash test dummy.when i came to a stop, she fell forward.i am very concerned, so i began checking with friends and relatives who have children my daughters age.someone told me about the emergency lock feature of the seat belt.by pulling the seat belt all the way out and then slowly allowing it to retract, the seatbelt will lock in place keeping a child in a booster seat more secure.i checked my chrysler town and country van, no locking feature.i checked my chevy tahoe, seatbelt locked in place.i check my company ford econoline van, it also locked.i contacted chrysler to find out if there was something i could do. I took the van to the dealership. I was told that the seatbelt is the way it is and that in an accident the seatbelt would lock.that is great if she is awake and sitting straight.what if she is asleep has fallen over while making a turn and is then involved in an accident.the seatbelt at that point, would more than likely do more harm that good.i am very upset with chryslers marketing of there minivans to consumers and the response i received from them.i would like to get something done about this before some child is injured or killed.as i told chrysler, i don't have a problem paying to fix this, just fix it.have there been any other complaints?

Dt:child booster seatmanufactured by graco, model no. 8491rgb, the consumers child was involved in an accident, the vehicle contained two booster seats of the same make, model, and build date, the right side arm rest of both child booster seats came off upon the vehicles impact. The vehicle is a 1994 ford taurus, upon impact the vehicle caused passengers to lean toward the right, one booster seat was located on the rear drivers side of the vehicle, the right arm rest broke off causing the child to lean over onto the spot were the booster seat broke off, this breakage caused the child to obtain a hair line fracture to his hip, the second booster seat also had a breakage occur of the right side arm rest, the location of this booster seat was the rear passenger side of the vehicle, the second child sustained severe bruises, the consumer believes that the reason the second child did not obtain a more severe condition was because she was seated beside the rear passenger side door, which cushioned the impacted, both booster seats were secured by both lap and shoulder seat belts of the vehicle. The third injury was to the consumer because of the air bag deploying which caused a gash above the consumers eyelid, a burn look to her chin and a broken wrist, the vehicle did spark and try to catch fire, another person used a fire extinguisher to put out the sparks, the vehicle accident was reported to the police.

Graco model # 845807, dom 01-10-2000;harness strap on the infant seat is too small to properly secure the child in the seat, consumer was sent a seat extension strap kit from graco, and a manual that has conflicting information concerning installation of the seat or straps, which should be corrected.please give further details.

After purchasing a pre-owned dodge ram conversion van, i discovered that the latch system is incompatible with commercially available child car seats that i purchased for my child. Whencheckingthecar seat discoveredthat the arm part was out of the hole that it was suppose to go into, and the springcame off.also, a plastic piece came off.
