I have the graco my size 70 model number 1807015 date of mfg 11/27/13. One day while driving on the interstate my son was able to reach the harness release lever and pull it up causing the harness to become undone. Needless to say we had to pull over many times to constantly strap him back in. I called graco and told them about this. The lady said well i'm sorry miss you just have a smart kid and we can't take that away from him. Maybe he should talk to a police office and that will fix the problem. Yeah that didn't happen. So now we have to use a bungee cord at the bottom of the strap and tie it to the seat in front of him so he can't pull it up. The next problem that has now happened is while being strapped down he can unbuckle the chest clasp. Now multiply this with 2 because i have twin boys.

This is in concern to the graco child seat buckle recall. I ordered a replacement on feb 16, 2014. Their instructions for cleaning the buckle is a waste of time. This carseat was purchased for my grandson and has hardly been used, so it's just a matter of poor design, not being dirty with food, drink, etc. It's taking way too long for them to replace the buckle and i want some heat put on them to get the re[placement to me asap. They should be fined hefty also.

I bought a my size 70 car seat for my daughter in february. When we go it, i noticed that the harness was hard to tighten, and it was also hard to clip the buckle in between her legs. I posted about it in a car seat group, and was told that it would loosen up after a week or so. It is now 6 weeks later, and i still can not tighten the harness straps. My husband can't either. It also takes a good 5 minutes to buckle the crotch buckle. The only way to do it is to loosen the harness, but then you can't tighten it back. I e-mailed and called graco. They sent me a new buckle and harness straps, but it didn't correct the problem.

Make graco my size 70 model # 1807015 jj date of manufacture: 6/22/2013 component: the release lever for the 5 point harness is with in reach of child- child can release and loosen harness while car is in motion. My 3 year old son is able to reach the five point harness release lever on his car seat. He is fastened in correctly and while the car is moving he is now releasing the harness lever which enables him to loosen the harness and then climb out of the car seat. I have contacted the maker of the car seat graco and the only solution they had was to buy a different model car seat and hope that he cannot reach the release. I have another car seat that is also a graco but different model and sadly my 3 year old can release the harness tension on this seat as well. If my child can do this i am sure there are other children doing this as well. These seats need to be recalled immediately before a child gets hurt or killed in an accident. I have taken video of my 3 year old releasing the harness in both car seats while he was properly strapped into the car seat.
