I have a graco car seat with model # 1857539. The dom is 12/3/12. A few months ago, i started having problems with the buckle unlatching. It takes extreme force or even a secondperson to help unlatch it with several attempts. At first i thought it was the cold weather making it stick but even on warmer days it happens. I don't allow my child to eat or drink in the car seat because i am not there to supervise and am afraid of him choking so there hasn't been any spills.

The buckle on my graco myride 65 sticks. I called graco and was told they didn't currently have any buckles available for replacement, and to call back at a later date. I fear if we were to get into an accident i won't be able to get my child out of the seat. It worked fine for several months, until one day it didn't. Graco customer service recommended rinsing the buckle with water, but it doesn't seem to help. Sometimes it works, other times it doesn't. There doesn't seem to be any common factors for when it isn't going to work. I've stopped using the seat, but was told i should report the failure to nhtsa.

I have a son that will turn two in nov. That uses the graco myride 65 model 1757838 serial number 061509 i love the car seat but he can pinch the chest buckle and then work his arms out of the straps which then out of the entire carseat. I have been to many babies r us stores, targets, wal-marts, etc to look for something that is more secure and that a two yr old can not figure out. The chest buckle is just to easy for the child to undo. I wouldn't care if its harder on the parent if it means that my son will not get out of the car seat. I bought this car seat when it first came out and paid alot of money for it. But the graco company needs to address this issue. This same issue was a problem 5 yrs. Ago with my oldest son and the car seat companies need to come up with something better. My sons life is at risk and i have taken two car seat courses and i am a nurse and have still had my car seat checked by the state highway patrol to ensure that i am doing everything correctly in installing the carseat to putting my son in correctly. I have addressed this issue with graco by email and got a email in return that directed me to a website http://blog.gracobaby.com/2009/11/12/faq-what-if-my-child-figures-out-how-to-open-the-chest-clip-on-their-car-seat/on this website it basically tells me to pull the car over and not drive off till my son stops unbuckling the chest clip. But i live in md and i495 is not a safe place to pull over. They will not help me fix this issue and would like to know what further i can do to make the buckle safer and non able to unbuckle by small children. My son can't speak we sign currently and i am very frustrated with graco that they take this issue lightly. My son every day unbuckles the chest buckle and i even went to babies r us and put him in their same car seat in the store and showed the manager what he does he was out of the entire car seat with in 2 mins. Of me putting him in it. Please help.

My 15 month old can unbuckle her carseat while we are driving. She has a graco myride 65.

Cpsc:i1340247a. Graco myrider 65. Consumer stated the center red button on the car seat would not release trapping his daughter in the seat. *lnserial # e061572.

My son was buckled in his car seat as i went to the store. Upon arriving, i attempted to remove my son from his car seat to enter the store. The harness buckle located between his leg would not release when i pushed the button. The button was stuck. I used force to try to unbuckle my son from his seat with no luck. I had to come home and seek the help of my brother to remove the buckle. Later in the evening, i reinserted the buckles while the seat was empty to see if they would get stuck. The buckles continued to get stuck and the release button would also get stuck. I was able to finally get the buckle to buckle and unbuckle ( not sure how) again. I assumed the problem was fixed, so i reinstalled the car seat and proceeded to use the seat thefollowing day. I made two stops and had no problem removing my son from his car seat. On the third stop, the buckle was once again stuck and i could not remove him from his seat. I had to use a flathead screw driver to put pressure on the buckle button so it would release the buckle.the car seat's purpose is to protect my son while in the vehicle, however it should not trap him in the car seat. I researched the model of car seat and found numerous consumers who also have the same problem with children getting stuck in the car seat and having to remove them by cutting seat straps.

My toddler daughter (21 months) has learned to open her graco carseat chest buckle.she can then get her arms out of the upper straps.i complained to graco and they told me to teach her to keep it closed.i feel that a car seat safety device that is relying on compliance from a toddler is unsafe and a public safety hazard.i have asked and many of my friends reported that their toddlers are also able to undo this buckle (and the similar ones on other brands of seats).a car seat should not rely on a child being willing to remain seated.they should be unable to open the buckle themselves.graco offered me no help, other than the offer to send me an identical replacement buckle.

My child keeps getting stuck in her car seat because the buckle between her legs will not release.this has happened on more the one occasion.manufacturer notified.waiting for a reply.

The crotch buckle on the graco myride 65 car seat sticks when trying to push down the red release button to get a child out of the seat.this could be a potentially life threatening problem if the buckle sticks while a car is on fire or in the water.the problem has been reported to graco who have yet to do anything about it.

My 10 month old son is able to unclip his chest clip on his carseat, which is a huge issue since with it unclipped, he could wiggle his arms out, regardless of the fact that the straps are tight enough.

We bought a brand new graco myride65 in jan 2010. After about 2 weeks we started to really notice the crotch buckle would catch on something and make it very difficult to take our child out of the seat. It has gotten worse with time and is now to the point where ive been close to cutting the strap to get my daughter out. It started happening just every so often, and now happens just about every time we use the seat. I have tried rinsing the buckle and the metal piece with warm soapy water and this does nothing. I have not contacted graco yet to see if they will replace the buckle. That is something i plan to do today(11/17/10).

I have had difficulty getting the buckle on my graco my ride child restraint to release on multiple occasions in the last three days. This evening, i was unable to get the buckle to release at all after several minutes, so i removed the child from the seat by loosening the harness straps.

The buckle on my son's car seat gets stuck. I have ordered a new buckle but until it comes in we are using tools to get him out. I have had to loosen the straps in order to pull him through the harness. If there was an emergency i don't know what we would do. I cannot afford to just run and buy a new one.

I'm having trouble buckling and unbuckling crotch buckles on all 3 of my graco car seats.2 of them are myride 65's and 1 nautilus.the buckle sticks when trying to be unbuckled and it takes a few times for it to finally release.sometimes i can't even get the buckle in without having to force it.

Graco myride 65 has a sticky lower buckle. It is sometimes extremely difficult to get the buckle to release even using two hands. This has been going on for almost 2 years now and is getting progressively worse.

I tried to install a graco myride 65 rear-facing in a 2008 toyota tundra, using latch behind the driver's seat.i attached the hooks of the grey rear-facing latch belt to the latch rings in the truck, and pulled the belt to tighten down the car seat.i was able to get the belt tight, but when i pushed on the car seat to check for movement, the belt loosened completely.i tried several times, and the latch belt would tighten, but it would not stay tight.i notified graco of the issue, and they were unable to send/sell me a replacement grey rear-facing latch strap, so they sent an email with information on how to obtain a rebate if/when i purchased another graco car seat.i can still install the car seat rear-facing using the seat belt, and forward facing using a latch or seat belt install.(related vehicle information: model year=2008, make=toyota, model=tundra).

I own three graco car seats for my three children two nautilus and one my ride.every time i have to get my children out of the seats it takes extreme force to unlatch buckles sometimes leading me to find alternate ways to get them out.

I own a graco my ride 65 car seat, model number 1757837, manufacture date 8/12/09. The harness adjustment lever on the seat becomes loose do to a crack in the shell of the car seat where the retaining screw holds the lever in place. This allows the lever to come loose and along with it the harness adjustment strap.

I purchased a graco my ride 65 convertible car seat in january of 2010. I recently noticed one of the plastic buckle tongs has a crack in the plastic. While examining the seat further the level indicator on the left side(when rear facing) fell off the seat. I will be contacting graco first thing in the am.

Daughter put in car seat to go home.once at home unable to get her out.buckle would not unbuckle.i had to pull my daughter out through the top with the help of my husband (who just happened to be home early that day).so far it has just been the one time. I have two of the same car seats.if i was in an accident and that happened who knows what the consequences would have been.i now leave a really good scissor in my daughters diaper bag god forbid i should need it.i called graco and they said they would send me a replacement buckle in about 3-4 weeks since it is on back order!!if its on back order how many other times is this happening??

My son's graco myride 65 will not unlatch at the crotch buckle. It began sticking a little about two weeks ago. Last saturday, it was stuck so firmly that i could not undo it at all. My husband had to come rip it out with all his strength. It continues to stick and be very difficult to unlatch. I called the company and they are sending a return label and i will ship the whole car seat back to them as it is a "non-replaceable" part. When it is picked up, i will call them and they will send a new myride. I am happy they are replacing the seat, but i really wish i was not without a seat for my son for several days.

Defective harnessgraco my ride 65 convertible car seat. Unable to unlatch my grandchild from the harness. The buckle will not unlatch the harness. According to the local news report in my area, others have experienced the same situation where they have had to cut the harness to free the child. In my case i had to loosen the straps to free my grandchild from the car seat.the car seat was shipped back to graco in atlanta ga, on october 30th 2012. When i contacted graco of this incident on october 23rd 2012, there was no recall at the time of my call.as of today i am still waiting for a response on whether i will be receiving a new seat or they will make the necessary replacements to correct this serious problem.

I purchased two graco my ride 65 convertible car seats for my twins in early 2010.when i first put the kids in the seats, the chest clip seemed to be a very flimsy design, very easy to undo.i figured that it must just be deceptively easy and that the graco engineers must have tested it at some point.the kids are now 17 months old and one child is able to undo the chest clip instantly (one or two seconds at most, no fumbling, she just undoes it calm as can be) and will do it repeatedly, making the car seat unusable.the other child has undone the clip also, but does not do it with regularity.as a result, the car seats are no longer safe.i contacted the manufacturer to make them aware of this design flaw and i asked them to send me remediation information or advice.their response was "the chest clip (harness tie) needs to be both easy to open for caregivers with in an emergency and complex enough for a child to not easily open it. Our current chest clips have 2 buttons which takes both knowledge and dexterity for it to be opened. But there are some children who figure it out. And there are some adults who find it hard to open."they offered no remediation ideas or equipment, with the exception of replacement clips of the same design.it seems to me that 'some kids figure it out' shows a disturbing lack of understanding of the seriousness of this design flaw.my kids have harnesses and clips that hold them securely in many devices.they cannot break out of their $50 highchairs, yet they can let themselves out of their car seats?

My son was stuck in his graco myride 65 car seat. It happened out of the blue. Had to be cut out of the child seat. The harness buckle would not release. Both me and my husband tried to get buckle to release. We had to immediately purchase a new car seat.

1) normal use2) child's seat belt chest clip is too easy for a child to unclip, daily3) manufacture says that i shouldn't drive until my 19month old who doesn't understand commands stops unbuckling himself.he isn't capable of unbuckling any of his other car seats from other manufacturer's.no offer to replace buckle or correct the defective buckle design.

Child was able to accidentally put fingers into holes in the child car seat arm rest. The holes are located under arm rest fabric cover, which was lifted up by the child. The child could not remove her index finger resulting in lacerations.

Utilize the graco my ride 65 convertible car seat.there are two restraints -- the buckle at the bottom and the harness clip that goes across the chest.opening of the clip requires a person to squeeze on the clip.my 16-month child is able to easily squeeze the clip and thereby opening it.this is dangerous as my child is no longer fully restrained in the car seat.

1. No events led up to the failure, other than normal use.2. Failure of harness buckle of graco myride 65.buckle cannot be released, leaving your child stuck in the seat.today, 4/8/2012, i had to attempt to use pliers to release the harness buckle to remove my child from the seat.this did not work so i had to gently lift his leg through the belt after releasing the chest harness.3. Sent message to graco reporting this failure.the car seat cannot be used at this time.the harness buckle is still jammed and cannot be released.

The buckle sticks. It won't open and i had to loosen the belt completely in order to pull him out. When i press the button there is no give and the mechanism feels completely frozen. After we got it in the house we were able to unbuckle it after 10 ish minutes of struggling with it which leads me to believe it may be due to the temperature changes with a very poorly designed buckle. Graco's solution was to send our seat to them and wait a minimum of 7 weeks to receive a new seat which is unacceptable since that is the only one we have so we tried to return it to walmart which was thankfully successful. We did have to get the same seat which i'm unhappy about but if the buckle seizes again walmart told me i would be able to get a different seat if i kept my receipt ( i didn't have the receipt to exchange the first).

The harness of the child restraint is fraying from the male end of the crotch buckle rubbing on it.

Model number:1771683the buckle that snaps the two hooks into it with the red button near the crotch area., often gets stuck resulting in my wife not having enough strength to open it, and me having a very hard time trying to unlock it. If there was a fire or crash and this button got stuck it could be devastating.also the other connections that fit on the chest are extremely easy to undo by my two year old, and she often gets out of it while we are on the road. This to could be devastating.

I have the graco my ride 65. I had to put the seat in my mother in laws car and can't get it out now. It seems like the latch it locked or stuck. It will not feed any slack to help remove he seat. Normally this seat is in my expedition and a bit easier to get out however still very hard. I hate to take this seat out and re install often because of this situation. At the moment the seat is currently still stuck in the car. I can cut the straps however don?t want to do that if i don't have too! I have 2 my ride 65 graco child restraints and sometimes i can't get my child out of there car seat. There was a time were i needed o remove my children very quickly and i couldn't so i had to lock all three of us in the car.

Graco seat belt buckle is very hard to undo, one side seems jammed. Tried to contact graco, and all i get is a message or busy signal.

I took my child's car seat for a safety inspection with a technician.she discovered the philips head screw holding the harness release lever in place had come out of the base.upon closer inspection we noticed that the plastic base had developed fatigue and cracked, the screw had pulled out of the base and nothing was holding the harness release lever in position.it was completely loose and my baby was actually completely unrestrained.i bought this car seat brand new from target approximately a year prior.the car seat technician told me it was unsafe to even leave the car seat inspection site.they loaned me acar seat so we could go home.

I am writing to notify you of a potentially deadly design defect.the graco my ride 65 latch mechanism appear to be a button release while it is in fact a slide release mechanism.in an emergency, a panicked person seeking to release the baby might repeatedly push the "button" unsuccessfully in striving to release the baby.this is product design defect.thank you in advance for recalling all the "my ride 65" seats and fixing this defect.

The buckle (between the legs) gets stuck and it will take upwards of 5 minutes just to get my son out of his car seat! it is happening almost once a day when we are making multiple stops.one side of the buckle will get stuck and the other side will release and i will have to rebuckle the side that released and repeat that for a few minutes while trying to pull the stuck side out.

The buckle on our graco child seat is stuck... We had to loosen the straps to get our 2-year old out.

Our graco myride 65 carseat has a sticky crotch buckle that is very difficult to undo at some times.it was stuck so badly at one point, i thought we were going to have to cut the straps to get my son out of the seat.this issue occurs almost every time we use the seat.sometimes the sticking is worse than at other times.we have cleaned the buckle per the instructions in our owner's manual and it has not helped with the issue.i have also contacted graco customer service and was told that the buckle is not replaceable and was offered $40 towards the purchase of a new carseat, as my seat is out of their one year warranty window.i worry that the buckle could fail in the event of an accident and only use the seat when i absolutely have to.

I went to strap my daughter in her graco myride 65 carsesat, after leaving walmart. One of the straps wouldn't tighten, so i pulled on it and the whole thing just came sliding out of my daughters seat. There is a metal piece that is supposed to keep the straps in place but through repeated use of the carseat, it came off, i was lucky because it was just in a parking lot and not driving, other parents needs to be made aware of this. I wrote the company and they said to check and see if my seat was flawed, and it is not. I have filed a complaint with the better business burro, but haven't heard anything yet.

On the bottom buckle of our my ride 65 (date of manufacturer 12/11) started to stick, now allowing the actual buckle to be undone and let the child out of the seat. I called graco on 10/3 and they let me know they couldn't replace the buckle right away but were willing to replace the entire seat for me, understanding i was to ship back the old seat and wait for the new seat and that i'd have to use a spare in the meantime. They are lucky i had a spare. This is the second my ride i've owned with the same bottom buckle problem. The first buckle they've since re-modeled but the issue doesn't seem to be resolved.

The buckle on the graco 65 myride stopped working.i was unable to release it, to remove my son from his car seat; i had to loosen the straps as much as possible, and slide him up to seat, to get him out of the seat.i called graco and they are shipping me a new buckle/crotch strap at no cost.model number 1783100.

We have 2 my ride 65 convertible car seats. These were purchased in 2012. For the past 3 months or so we have both had problems getting our daughter out of the seat because of the buckle. It gets stuck and takes quite a while pushing as hard as you can to release it. Finally, the other day, my daughter got trapped in this car seat in my husbands car. My husband is a very big, strong man and he couldn't get the buckle to release. He had to get channel lock pliers out of his trunk and squeeze the buckle with it till it broke to get my 2 year old daughter out of it. Please do something about this so we can get new safe car seats for our daughter. It's obviously just a matter of time before the car seat in my car breaks too because it gets stuck all the time..

The harness does not adjust..

The buckle on the graco 65 myride stopped working. I was unable to release it, to remove my grandson from his car seat; i loosen the straps as much as possible to try to slide him up out of the seat it wouldn't work. I was 2 hours from home alone with my grandson i had to get a stranger to help me model number pd156938d.

Buckle on both of the my ride 65's that i have are difficult to unlatch.

The buckle on our myride 65 sticks. This began shortly after we bought it, and has continued to get worse. I am extremely worried for the safety of my child if she ever need to be removed quickly in an emergency.

The contact owns a graco safety seat, model name: my ride 65, model number 1813015, and manufactured date july 12, 2013. The contact stated that the buckle failed to unlatch. The contact received a notification for nhtsa campaign number: 14c001000 (child seat), however the part was not available. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure.

I previously had trouble unlatchingthe crotch buckle of my graco myride 65 and had to use excessive force to push the button to unlatch the harness. Currently the buckle is stuck and cannot be unlatched at all. Last night i had to remove my child by pulling her through the still buckled harness. I have not replaced the part and have not contacted graco.

Both the crotch buckles on our graco my ride 65 are cracked.

My son's graco myride 65 has had numerous issues.almosta year ago i had to call and they sent out a replacement buckle since the one on my son's seat was sticking and taking about 5 minutes of fiddling to be unbuckled to get my son out.this past weekend i put my son in it and the buckle completely locked up.i had to unthread the harness to get him out.i called graco and they are replacing his seat for me.

Plate where pull strap to tighten harness was not installed properly. Screw was loose and bottom tabs weren't secured at all. This caused the plate to lift up and the harness unable to be tightened properly. This happened everytime. I called graco and they are replacing the whole car seat.

Cpsc: i1320439a. Grago myride 65. Consumer stated the bottom lock on the seat gets stuck and cant unbuckle the child.*lnmodel # 1781859

The crotch buckle on my child's car seat gets stuck at times which makes it nearly impossible to get my son out.it's happened several times and there doesn't seem to be any reason to why or when it happens. In order to get the buckle to release i have to use so much force that it hurts me and i fear that eventually i will not be able to unlatch it and i will have to cut my son out.i also worry that this will happen during an emergency.i have notified the manufacturer but have not received a reply.

Child strapped into car seat, pushed buckle to remove and the bottom buckle would not come undone on one side. This is about the 4th time this has happened. Pushed the tongs back into place and had to wiggle the red push buckle.

Graco myride 65, unable to tighten harness with adjuster. It's stuck, tried adjusting installed and then uninstalled.

Graco myride child safety seat. The tightening strap on the car seat began to fray after a few uses and continued to happened; i contacted graco and they replaced the car seat.

The harnes buckles will not unlatch and child is stuck in the seat.

The contact owns a graco my ride 65, manufactured on 07/28/2009. The contact stated that it was difficult to detach the child seat at anytime. The manufacturer was notified and advised the contact to mail the child seat in for inspection. The contact did not follow through with mailing in the child seat. The child seat was not repaired.

The buckle on my graco my ride 65 has become impossible to unlatch.(related vehicle information: model year=2012, make=graco, model=1813074).

When tightening the harness on my graco myride65, the metal lever that holds the harness adjuster tight broke off of the seat.after contacting graco, they replaced the entire child safety seat.

15 month old is able to unhook chest clip.

I purchased a graco my ride 65 carseat, which has a clip at the top of the harness over a child's chest, and a buckle at the bottom of the seat to strap in a child.my 18 month old son can unclip the top harness of the harness.i contacted graco and informed them of my issue and concern over the safety of a partially restrained child in my vehicle, and they sent me a replacement clip, informing me that a toddler should not be able to unclip the harness.the new clip arrived, i installed it, and my child is still able to unclip the harness.i have never encountered this issue on other carseats before.it takes no effort on his part to unclip the harness.i have both the new and old clips available.

I purchased the graco my ride 65 for my daughter last summer. The carseat is great, but recentally my daughter who is now 18 months old can unclip herself while i have her strapped in. It is very unsafe and i am very unhappy about this product!

Nothing that i am aware of has caused this problem with my graco myride 65, it happened on its own. The crotch buckle sticks frequently making it very difficult to remove my child from the seat. Also i have found cracks in the crotch buckle clips. Graco has offered to replace the entire seat for me free of charge.

Our 21 month old child can easily unlatch the shoulder harness that goes accross the chest.if you press the release button in the center going toward the sternum it is more difficult, but if you press the button going towards the shoulder, it unlatches too easily and comes apart. Once our child did this, she kept doing it within seconds over and over while we were parked. If you are the adult facing the harness when latching/unlatching,if you press the button at the far right edge, it easily unlatches.if your finger slides beyond the right edge as you do it, it is even easier.we called graco tuesday 6/1 (problem on 5/31) to report the problem, was told a replacement harness latch was being sent to us.it is 6/4, we haven't received it.we tried outthe same seat (model) at local store, and it had the same problem, so its not just with the one seat we own.we have the seat in our home, unsused.we bought a new car seat (different company/model) as we don't feel the original one is safe.there was no accident or injury.we observed the problem, and immediately stopped using the seat.

I have the car seat graco my ride 65.i have had it now for 4 years.i was planning on using it again for my second daughter.after the end of the 2nd year, the straps that you pull began to fray.the latching system on the seat has been locking or getting stuck in the upright position making it hard for me to release my daughter from the straps.i am also having a hard time tightening her sufficiently enough because the latch gets stuck.the straps are also constantly getting tangled and twisted.i called graco and they said there was nothing they could do but send me a 40 dollar rebate when i buy another one of their seats. There is no parts that they can help me with replacing anything. I am very disgusted.i now had to purchase another graco high back booster for my 5 year old and now i have to purchase another seat for my baby.i wasn't planning on buying another seat for my baby.i wanted to use the my ride for my 2nd daughter.i am very upset.

We have a graco my ride 65 convertible car seat (model 1770670) on which we have had trouble with the center buckle mechanism.on the day indicated, we attempted to remove our 20-month old son from the seat, and the center red release button would not depress no matter how many attempts or how hard we tried.we tried wiggling the buckle while depressing, but nothing worked.we thought we were going to have to cut the belt material to get him out, but we figured out a way to unhinge the belt material from the rear of the seat to loosen it enough to remove our son.my biggest concern is that if this happens during an emergency where we need to get him out quickly, we won't be able to without cutting the belt material.i reported the incident to graco this morning, and they are going to refund cost of the seat upon the return of the defective car seat.

Cpsc: i1560455a: graco. Consumer stated plastic failure resulted in separation of harness. *ssthe consumer stated themanufacturer was sending a replacement. It was the second failure within a month.

My just recently turned 1 year old granddaughter can unbuckle the harness buckle on the myride 65 graco carseat.looks like there has been 19 complaints of this type filed on your site since november 2010.

I took the seat cover off of my child's car seat (my ride 65 by graco) to clean as instructed in the users manual. After the cloth cover was off, i noticed some "fuzz" which turned out to actually be fraying on the bottom of one of the harness straps. Upon closer inspection i noticed that the restraint was actually torn. The seat has never been in any type of collision. I contacted graco and they have instructed me to return the seat for replacement, as the piece that is damaged is not one that can be replaced and the seat should no longer be used.

The buckle wouldn't come undone. I had to loosen the straps completely to get my child out of the seat for weeks before the seat was returned.

The crotch buckle on the child restraint will not disengage when release button is pressed.to my knowledge, nothing was done to cause the failure. The buckle would only occasionally get stuck at first, maybe once per month, but that quickly became once a week, then once a day & now it occurs almost every single time the restraint is used. I have to completely uninstall the seat & remove the straps from the latch plate & unthread them to remove my child. I have not been in an accident since this started, but my fear is that my child will be stuck in the car in the event of an accident. This could be deadly if the car is on fire or if it was submerged under water. I was told by graco it was caused by food being stuck in the buckle, but my child has never eaten in her seat & this was occurring from almost the very beginning.

I am contacting you regarding the graco myride 65.i purchased 2 of these carseats in jan for my personal use and recently discovered both seats had broken during normal use.i was using both seats in the rear facing position with a child who weighs about 28 lbs.the a-lock device was held to the seat by a plastic tab on the bottom and a single screw through the top.the problem was the bottom of the a-lock device had pulled out of the plastic tab and the device was only being held in place by the screw.on one of my carseats the screw had pulled about halfway out and the a-lock device was barely attached to the seat.with the cover in place the harness appeared to be functioning normal it would tighten and loosen using the device.i never knew there was a problem until i had to take the cover off of one to wash it and that is when i noticed the a-lock hanging from the seat. After discovering this i checked my other seat and found the same problem on that seat as well.

I have the graco myride 65 car seat, my baby can unbuckle the chest clip and maneuver himself out of the seat, i had to pull over on a recent trip because he was completely out of his car seat! i make sure it is positioned correctly and tight enough but he still can unbuckle it. The crotch clip also will sometime stick when trying to unbuckle it and have to pull on it really hard before it will finally release.

The chest clip on the car seat does not stay closed. Once it is touched, it opens easily and my son fell forward as the car stopped. As a one-year-old, he was able to barely touch the clip and have the harness stop restraining him. When i barely brushed the chest clip, it opened up and my sons arms slipped out of the restraint. When i contacted the company, it took over two months before they supposedly sent me a replacement piece. The replacement piece was expected to be delivered in "10 to 20 business days" and it still has not arrived 5 weeks later. The company took too long to respond and even just stopping at a stop light put my son in danger. I tried putting a shoulder strap over the clip and my son very easily removed that strap. He loved the freedom of not being restrained and i feared for my child's life. I had no other car seat option and only drove with my son in an emergency - including on my way to urgent care when he was having a severe allergic reaction. At a stop sign, my son fell forward and the strap caught his arm, leaving a mark. I entered my complaint to the company in january, they didn't contact me back until march, and by april i gave the car seat back to my in-laws who returned it (as it was a gift) and got their money back. Now i am without a car seat and graco did nothing to remedy the situation. I was shocked to see how unsafe the new car seat was and i'm so disappointed in how my son was not restrained.

It is very difficult to unlatch the crotch harness buckle. And the chest latch is easily opened by my 20 month old son who is only 21lbs. The car seat is placed rear facing and strapped in with the seatbelt per car seat manual instructions, and my son has taken his feet a pushed against the truck seat and the car seat has flipped back. This has happened 4 times now.

The lower anchor strap for rear facing willnot tighten or loosen and is stuck in the same position. I contacted graco and they are replacing the seat after i send back the defective one(related vehicle information: model year=2001, make=ford , model=windstar).

The upper latch on my graco my ride 65 is opened at will by my 19-month oldgrandchild.,she opens it while i am driving. When i complained to the manufactuer they told me to train the child not to do it or give the child a toy to distract het. Finally they said there is nothing they can do about it. I have heard from some parents with the same car seat that they have the same problem. Graco is non-responsive to this saftey issue.

Graco my ride 65 carseat - the two hooks that go into the buckle have cracked on both sides and there is also some wear to my harness straps as well.i don't know how it occured but read about the problem online and went to check ours and yes they are cracked.i will be calling graco to complain but its out of warranty so i don't know if anything will be done about the issues.

The buckle on the graco myride 65 has begun to fail. When the seat belt is inserted into the buckle, the buckle will not release the seat belt when the red button is pushed. It is taking excessive force of pushing down on the red button to get the buckle to release. Also, when the seat belt is not inserted, when pushing the red button on the buckle it will not move. It fells like it is catching on something. One day i could not get the product to release at all. I almost got to the point of getting my knife and cutting my child out of the seat. Finally, after 15 minutes the product released. I have stopped using the product due to this incident.

The contact owns a graco my ride 65 child seat, manufactured january 21, 2012. The contact stated that the harness buckle would not release the harness strap from around the child. The crotch buckle has gotten stuck to where i can not get the harness open while my child is in the seat. This problem does not happen every use but has occasionally happened since i purchased the seat in 2009. I called graco and they asked me to mail them back the seat, since this is not a replaceable part, and they will inspect it to see if there is a defect.

I purchased the graco my ride 65 for my daughter last summer. The carseat is great, but recentally my daughter who is now 18 months old can unclip herself while i have her strapped in. It is very unsafe and i am very unhappy about this product!

Graco seat belt buckle is very hard to undo, one side seems jammed. Tried to contact graco, and all i get is a message or busy signal.

Graco myride 65 has a sticky lower buckle. It is sometimes extremely difficult to get the buckle to release even using two hands. This has been going on for almost 2 years now and is getting progressively worse.

Used my carseat normal for two years. Yesterday checked the clips that snap to buckle between legs and realized that both of them are cracked. Called graco and replacement seat will be shipped after i pay to ship defective seat since buckles can't be replaced apparently.

The buckle on my son's car seat gets stuck. I have ordered a new buckle but until it comes in we are using tools to get him out. I have had to loosen the straps in order to pull him through the harness. If there was an emergency i don't know what we would do. I cannot afford to just run and buy a new one.

My just recently turned 1 year old granddaughter can unbuckle the harness buckle on the myride 65 graco carseat.looks like there has been 19 complaints of this type filed on your site since november 2010.

My child keeps getting stuck in her car seat because the buckle between her legs will not release.this has happened on more the one occasion.manufacturer notified.waiting for a reply.

Safety belt buckle wont open, button stuck.this has happened 4 times now where my 18 month old is trapped in her carseat. Normally daddy can push the button to get her out but this last time it wouldn't budge.took daughter out by loosing straps and picking her up but still button wouldn't open.husband had to unscrew the screws and saw that the springs had moved not allowing the button to be pushed.

My son was stuck in his graco myride 65 car seat. It happened out of the blue. Had to be cut out of the child seat. The harness buckle would not release. Both me and my husband tried to get buckle to release. We had to immediately purchase a new car seat.

The contact was still in possession of the safety seat.

13 month old son unbuckles his chest buckle with ease over and over and has been doing this since he was 10 months old. Graco sent us a new buckle and we have the same issue. There are many posts on the web about this issue and graco has their own faq section since 2009 about the buckle issue (so they are aware). This is the only buckle graco makes for their all models of their car seats (per the several graco employees we have been in contact with). Graco appears to have no plans to address this safety issue. I have already purchased a new britax car seat, but want graco to take care of this for other families. I have a call with the head of graco development on monday to share my concern.i took a video of him unbuckling that i plan to share with graco and post on youtube.i will send a link in after i am contacted so you can review.

The buckle on our graco child seat is stuck... We had to loosen the straps to get our 2-year old out.

My 20 month old daughter is able to get the chest clip opened on her myride 65. In addition, when we got to our destination, i found her with the clip unbuckled and an arm out. I am 100% confident that i had her harness straps tightened properly.*"tr

Buckle on both of the my ride 65's that i have are difficult to unlatch.

My 15 month old can unbuckle her carseat while we are driving. She has a graco myride 65.

The buckle on our myride 65 sticks. This began shortly after we bought it, and has continued to get worse. I am extremely worried for the safety of my child if she ever need to be removed quickly in an emergency.

The contact owns a graco my ride 65 child seat, model number 181305, and manufactured june 2012. The child seat was being utilized in a 2010 ford focus. The contact stated that the buckle became lodged in the latched position. The contact indicated that the failure occurred inside of the vehicle and the child was in the safety seat at the time of the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The contact believed that the failure was directly related to recall nhtsa campaign number: 14c001000 (child seat).

The harnes buckles will not unlatch and child is stuck in the seat.

I received a recall on the graco my ride 65 car seat harness buckle. I have 2 of these car seats and would like both harnesses replaced. I have noticed each time i take my grandchild out of the car seats that the buckles are very difficult to unlatch. Nothing as of yet has been done to correct this problem or defect.

The buckle wouldn't come undone. I had to loosen the straps completely to get my child out of the seat for weeks before the seat was returned.

The contact owns a graco myride 65 child restraint seat, model number 1813015, and manufactured january 30, 2012. The contact stated that the buckle failed to unlatch after numerous attempts. The child was pulled through the harness in order to become free from the buckled harness. The manufacturer was notified and informed the contact that they would send a new replacement part.

My 10 month old son is able to unclip his chest clip on his carseat, which is a huge issue since with it unclipped, he could wiggle his arms out, regardless of the fact that the straps are tight enough.

Cpsc#i1280541a. Graco my rider 65. Consumer stated that her son was able to unbuckle his chest clip. Manufacturer sent replacement clips and he was able to open them too. *lnserial #1781859jj.

Child strapped into car seat, pushed buckle to remove and the bottom buckle would not come undone on one side. This is about the 4th time this has happened. Pushed the tongs back into place and had to wiggle the red push buckle.

Graco model-my ride 65.we have two for three year old twins.we purchased the child car seats about two years ago.currently there is a recall for this model seat nhtsa 14c-001 for replacement of the harness buckle model qt or qt-3.we have ordered replacement kits.for safety consideration we would like to suggest our children have been able with their finger strength since they were about one year old to disengage the shoulder strap latch (two pronged on the one side device where each shoulder strap in "threaded through" one half of the latch and the two prongs insert into the other latching the two together).we maintained rearward facing installations of the seats until age 3.this meant we had to be constantly questioning whether the shoulder strap latches we clasped together with many exits of the road to visually check security of our twins.we suggest an investigation into the frequency owners of these child seats are experiencing this unsafe condition.many thanks for your consideration.

I purchased a graco my ride 65 convertible car seat in january of 2010. I recently noticed one of the plastic buckle tongs has a crack in the plastic. While examining the seat further the level indicator on the left side(when rear facing) fell off the seat. I will be contacting graco first thing in the am.

Graco myride 65, unable to tighten harness with adjuster. It's stuck, tried adjusting installed and then uninstalled.

The harness does not adjust..

I own three graco car seats for my three children two nautilus and one my ride.every time i have to get my children out of the seats it takes extreme force to unlatch buckles sometimes leading me to find alternate ways to get them out.

When tightening the harness on my graco myride65, the metal lever that holds the harness adjuster tight broke off of the seat.after contacting graco, they replaced the entire child safety seat.

I have a graco myride 65 carseat for my child. Model # 1756268, dom 080409. Recently the crotch buckle has begun to stick, not allowing the straps to be released. It does not happen every time the seat is used, but it is becoming more frequent. I have emailed graco, but have not gotten a response yet.

Graco myride child safety seat. The tightening strap on the car seat began to fray after a few uses and continued to happened; i contacted graco and they replaced the car seat.

As we were tightening the car seat the metal bracket that holds the strap, broke from the plastic of the base of the seat. This is the piece that allows you to tighten and loosen the car seat.
