Harness restraints can be loosened by pulling even without pressing the release button.*dt

When removing the headrest cover of a carseat for the first time in one year, the styrofoam headrest side panels fell off completely. The adhesive appeared to stop working.

I have a 21 month old son who has figured out how to unlatch his graco milestone carseat, at the top latch then proceeds to stand up or get out of his seat. I contacted graco and the response i got was to try to talk to him about it. This is a safety hazard on so many different levels. Something needs to be done with the top latch to stop curious toddlers from being able to do this. Even our local grocery store carts have 3 buttons you have to push to unlatch it making them safer than a legally required carseat.

Please look into the graco milestone car seat as it is extremely unsafe, the child is able to slip its arms through the straps with ease, leaving it totally vulnerable.i contacted graco about this and they advised me to educate the child on the dangers of traveling without a seatbelt - totally impossible to educate a 14month child on any kind of dangers, they also told me devices were on the market to prevent this but it was not advisable to purchase these as they are not graco approved. This car chair is totally unsuitable for young children that do not have the capability of understanding danger.

I stopped using this carseat with my 2.5 year old because she could reach the strap release and loosen her buckle. I took video and presented it to graco. Their suggestion was that i talk with my child, which i already had, and tuck the release strap under her. That did not keep her from releasing it and loosening the straps.i still use it for my son, but he has not discovered that he can reach it yet. He just turned 2, i'm sure it's only a matter of time.

The contact owns a graco milestone rearfacing infant seat, model number: 1946246. The seat was manufactured on august 7, 2015. The contact stated that the harness strap became loose and could not be tightened, which caused the safety seat to become inoperable. The failure occurred outside of the vehicle. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure by email. The purchase date was unknown.

The contact owns a graco milestone forward facing infant seat. The contact stated that the harness straps were abnormally loose. In addition, the latch was used to tighten and adjust the harness; however, the child was able to depress the cfa button to exit the safety seat. The child seat was the original equipment. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The seat was manufactured on september 2, 2015. The purchase date was unknown. Updated 01/10/17

Over the past 1.5 years, i have had to make warranty claims on five graco milestone car seats because the glue holding the foam to the headrest is defective and within 4-12 months, the glue fails and no longer holds the foam in place.although graco has replaced four of the five (and hopefully replace the fifth), i do not think it is a safe situation if the glue routinely fails.it is difficult to see when the glue fails because of the removable fabric cover.parents may only see that the foam has detached if they remove the cover to wash it (i heard the styrofoam pieces rubbing against each other).there does not seem to be any specific event that leads to the failure - the seats have been used both rear-facing, forward-facing, and as boosters, for a toddler/preschooler and an elementary-age child.it has happened with every milestone seat we have ever had that is more than a few months old.graco has replaced four of them (and hopefully the fifth), but it is a serious inconvenience to be without a car seat for 2 weeks as the defective seat is shipped back and a replacement seat is sent out.
