We have a graco affix high back booster (model #1893803, manufactured january 2017 and purchased from amazon in may 2017).the adjustable headrest on the child restraint does not lock into place.over the course of just a few seconds after the child is restrained in the seat, the headrest sinks down rather than staying at the selected height, which places the shoulder strap at the incorrect height.in order to keep the child properly restrained and to prevent injury or death in a car crash, the shoulder strap must be at the correct height.the fact that this restraint fails to keep the shoulder strap at the right height presents a serious safety concern.we have owned the booster seat for less than 2 months, and it was manufactured just 6 months ago.it has never been in an accident or abused in any way.this issue occurs every time we use the restraint.we have contacted the company for a replacement and have removed the back of the booster seat, using it as a backless booster for the time being.

Cpsc: i1480291a. Graco affix booster seat. Consumer stated while trying to install the car seat, she discovered the right latch did not stay lock. *lnthe consumer stated when the latch was not attached to the hooks in the vehicle, two strings were pulled in the front of the seat to tighten the seat to the back of the seat. Once pulled tight, they were supposed to stay tight , in case of an accident. The booster seat did move while the child was in. However, the right latch would not stay tight and the consumer could easily pull the latch back loose again. Model# 1885959.

We recently purchased a graco affix highback booster. Over the summer, we noticed sometimes that the headrest was lower when we got back in the car than when we had left it. We adjusted it (and the corresponding seat belt placement) whenever we noticed this. We had the same problem in a different car this fall, and even took out the vehicle seat headrest in case it was pushing on the car seat at all. Then one day the headrest slid down while my child was riding in the seat! this confirmed we had a problem: the car seat headrest would not always stay in position. We contacted graco and they sent us a replacement seat.*dt
