Regarding my 2006 graco cargo booster car seat model# 8d01zph, my child has recently begun eating the foam rubber cushion beneath the seat cover upholstery whenever he sits on it.this had occurred because my car seat does not have the fabric safety covering for the seat cushion foam which can now be found on the new current model graco car seats.when i contacted graco customer service by email to inquire about obtaining a safety covering for my seat cushion foam, i was advised that no such product was available for my car seat, but, a rebate would be provided to me if i were to buy a new graco car seat.i decided to try and fix the problem myself and wound up using "duct tape" to cover up the exposed areas of foam rubber and, so far, it has been working okay.would it be possible for nhtsa to contact graco to have them manufacture a fabric seat cushion cover for my car seat?although my child has not sustained any injuries from this defect yet,i feel that this is a design flaw which needs to be corrected.thank you for your assistance.

When used as a booster seat the shoulder belt of the vehicle does not stay snug due to poor belt positioners on the booster seat. They are too snug and do not allow for any retraction of the seat belt.we will strap our child in and adjust the shoulder belt through one of the slots but everytime our child moves or leans forward the belt becomes very loose and no longer safe. The first time we used the seat as a booster we had to pull over 7 times to readjust the tightness of the shoulder strap. We have never put him in the seat again.i am outraged that graco would make such a poorly designed booster. I feel that this seat and any others with the same type of belt positioners should be recalled and taken off the shelves.if we hadn't been aware that his belt kept becoming loose and not retracting back and had got into an accident he could have been very injured. I have contacted graco and they will only replace my booster with an identical one with the same type of belt positioners, so i am stuck with a booster either way that is not safe and i refuse to endanger my child therefore we will be throwing away this piece of junk and will be out all the money we paid for it.
