The contact owns a graco comfort sport 18130040 safety seat, build date 1/22/13. The contact stated that the harness buckle that buckles in between the child's legs became stuck and had to be forced out in order to release the child. The contact stated the failure began 2 months ago. The contact stated that she was prompted to file a safety complaint on the child seat after she had been involved in an unrelated crash on 10/21/2013. She realized that had the child been in the vehicle and in thechild seat at the time of the crash,her inability to quickly remove the child from the child seat was a safety issue. The child was not in the vehicle at the time of the crash. A police report was filed. The manufacturer was notified. The safety seat had not been repaired at the time of the compliant.
The contact owns a graco 8c04frr comfort sport child restraint. The contact stated that the child was secured in the child restraint when she could hear him choking. Upon examining the situation, the contact noticed that the child was choking on pieces of the child restraint padding in which he had torn from the seat. As a result, the child suffered minor injuries, including a stomach virus. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and offered to provide a new child seat. The contact did not accept the offer, but purchased a different brand of seat as a replacement.
