The foam between the fabric and the plastic broke in half. The seat was only used under 15 times as it was in grandma's car. It was never involved in an accident, dropped or picked at. The effect it has on the seat is that one side of the back is now just fabric and then plastic without any foam. Nothing was done, as of yet, to correct the problem. I did look at the manufacturer web-site and it has not been recalled. There is not a replacement part, so we will have to replace the seat itself.
