I have a graco nautilus with the new buckle.it has stuck many times before and i've had to press hard enough that it hurts my own hand.last night it was -1 outside and we were out of town.i had to stand in the cold trying to get my son out of his seat.my husband could not do it either.we ended up having to loosen the straps and having him climb out of the restraint and had to do the same to get him back in it.this is a huge issue with these seats and i am fed up with it!!!this is a weekly event with this seat!

2nd graco nautilus crotch buckle that has jammed. Seat has been returned to graco for a refund. Buckle being sent to nhtsa for review.

Consistently having issues with the latch or buckle mechanism on the graco nautilus 3 in 1 car seat.today we weren't able to get it undone at all andhad to loosen the entire harness and pull our daughter out with it still buckled.we know other people with the same carseat that are having the same issue.

Graco nautilus with a previously functioning crotch buckle got stuck, trapping my son in the seat. I couldn't unbuckle it and had to loosen the straps and have him climb out that way.

We have had this car seat for approximately 20 months.we had no problems with the seat until about 8 months ago.on many occasions (10+), the center buckle would not unlatch.it took pushing and pushing and pushing on the button before it would finally unlatch.many times it would take 5 or more minutes.last night it stuck again.it was -17 degrees outside and i could not get my toddler out of her carseat.i restarted the vehicle so we had heat while i tried to unlatch the buckle.no use.after struggling for what seemed like forever in the freezing cold, i had to actually cut the straps of the car seat to get her out.i am thankful this had not been an emergency situation and that we were at home in our driveway at the time.please look into this.thank you.

I am not sure if you have the info. From me regarding my 2 graco nautiluses. I called graco and reported to them. There was nothing that led up to it. I had just installed my son's carseat back into the car and went to pick him up from school. He told me he couldn't get his carseat unbuckled to get in. I tried and without success. When i got home my dad also tried and i went to show him how it worked using my daughter's carseat and then hers wouldn't unbuckle either. I tried multiple times even using a butter knife and straight edge screw driver, but nothing helped. I contacted graco the next day (since they said they were closed when i called at 3:50 cst) and they sent me out 2 new harness systems (everything but the chest clip). I still have the old buckle systems but do worry everyday if i will be able to get my kids out of the car. This is regarding 2 car seats... However when i got to that point you do not have the model number listed for my other carseat, same kind just different model number and it was not listed anywhere, but was manufactured 1 day prior to the one i listed. The one listed is the one for my daughter.

The crotch buckle on our graco nautilus has been difficult to unbuckle/sticking for about 4months. We've rinsed it with water and sprayed compressed air to see if anything comes unlodged. Monday(march 25th, 2013) the buckle wouldn't release. The straps had to be loosened and the child had to be pulled from the top of the seat. We called graco on tuesday(march 26th, 2013) and they suggested what we have already done if the issue occurs again and they are sending a new buckle.

Graco had a recall almost a year ago on the safety buckles on my daughters car seats. I filed online form, called and placed complaints with no replacement parts sent. I want two new car seats that are safe! i'm extremely upset and want answers. Don't place a recall and not follow through!!!

Buckle is very difficult to unlatch and also becomes stuck in the latched position.

The contact owns a 2012 graco nautilus child restraint seat, model number: 1763461. The contact stated that a one-year old child was able to unlock the 5-point harness very easily. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The child seat was still being used by the contact.
