Date 8/10/00)the mother states that neither seat has been in a crash or been dropped/damaged in any way.

My fisher price futura tray shield seat (79013 12/10/1999) has a problem with the small piece of webbing that attaches the tray to the seat. It keeps falling out. Since it is not reliably connecting the tray to the seat, i have called fp who are requesting my seat via ups, will study it, and issue me a partial refund. This small section of webbing attaches to the tray via a small metal tab. This tab is inserted flat through a slit in the tray, where is usually lies flat against the inside of the tray, keeping the tray attached. I cannot dislodge this strap intentionally, but 3 times (including this morning) it has fallen out. I suspect that the angle of the tray in its up position allow the tab to fall to the wrong angle and slip through the slit. I am concerned that other tray shield models of the futura may be performing in a similar manner. Please contact me with any more questions. I'm a cps tech.
Nylon piece that hooks to the plastic piece which holds the shoulder belt in place came completely off.there is no way of holding the shoulder belt to the car seat.

The child car seat harness adjuster was on recall (98e-019), but the dealer said no repairs were needed.however, the harness adjuster on the convertible car seat malfunctioned. Later on the manufacturer sent the consumer a newly designed harness adjuster, seat was purchased 01-aug-1999.
