I am a cps technician instructor.i volunteer at a local store once a month and answer questions for parents about car seats. While trying out numerous seats for use for their child, one seat was unable to be tightened sufficiently.it was the evenflo titan 5.i was able to pull the strap from the bottom of the seat to tighten, however everytime we tried to tighten with the front adjuster strap, the harness straps locked up or got stuck.upon further examination of the cause, it was discovered that the harness straps were sown together and the flap of material would get caught on the harness slot, preventing the straps from being able to be tightened.the parents chose a different seat to purchase.

While driving in car child wrapped strings holding carseat cover onto carseat around her neck and was being choked. It caused big burn marks around her neck. The strap had to be cut off of carseat. I have pictures of childs neck and burn marks left on her. Child is not even two years old she could've been strangled to death with no way to communicate it to me.

The crotch buckle is not clasping , the seat has only been used for about a year and a half. There is nothing in the buckle and the buckle is not sticky. My husband even tried wd40as a last resort, which did not work either.

We bought a new evenflo convertible carseat for our child and it never worked correctly from the time we received it.the straps are very difficult to tighten and loosen.therefore, our child could not be strapped in correctly.sometimes the straps could not even be loosened without removing the entire carseat and really forcing them. The straps would be so tight that our child would screamwhen we tried to buckle her in but it was almost impossible to loosen them without them being too loose.

As i was buckling my 16 month old son into his car seat after a shopping trip, i gently pulled on the safety strap that goes between his legs to make sure he was secure.as i pulled on the strap it broke free of the car seat.upon closer inspection i found that the strap was frayed where it had rested against the clip used to stabilize it and hold it in place on the car seat..the car seat is less than a year oldand there is no reason why the strap should suddenly fail.
