I have a evenflo titan 65 and the harness adjuster is loose. It moves when you try to tighten the child restraint harness. It's a little over 2 years old and i purchased it and another exactly like it brand new.

Car seat chest buckle will not fasten after 6 months use. Called evenflo they said it happens sometimes and only offered a replacement buckle which may also become faulty. This is a safety issue and should not be ignored. Car seat buckles should not easily wear out and should continue to be safe and useful for the life of the car seat.

Evenflo sureride/titan 65 37111447c (2014-08-06exp 2020-08-04). Placed my rear facing child in seat, and when pulling the strap to tighten the harness, the "harness release mechanism" detached itself from the car seat. I noticed it was only being held by a single screw, and ripped out of the plastic it was screwed in to. With this not attached to the car seat, i was not able to tighten the harness, leaving us stranded. *t

Buckle gets stuck.

The contact owns an evenflo titan 65 child safety seat, model number: 3712198. The seat was manufactured on 6/30/2015. The contact stated that the hinge used to convert the seat to the forward facing position showed signs of stress and wear. When utilizing the seat, the straps could not be tightened to secure the child without removing the seat from the vehicle. The cause of the failures was not determined. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The purchase date was unknown.

The adjuster piece became unscrewed from the car seat. The straps no longer restrain my child.

I have an evenflo titan 65, model 37121429 manufactured 12/29/2014, the screw holding the harness release buckle in place stripped out of the base while i was securing my son into the seat. No one was hurt, but the seat is now useless. However the greater concern is how the entire restraint system is dependent on a single screw anchored in plastic. I find it hard to fathom this is the case, but the harness can no longer be secured. Could the plastic base become fatigued with use? below is a youtube link i found showing the loose nature of the harness release buckle. Please advise if this is a known issue or not. Evenflo sureride/titan 65 car seat shoulder strap detached from splitter plate on rear of car seat while installed forward facing in vehicle. This happened while strapping a child into the seat. It has occurred once. This is a life threatening issue - if the strap were to detach during a car accident a child could be thrown from the seat. Children could also remove themselves from the seat while the car is in motion if the straps were to detach. Evenflo provided replacement straps and splitter plate to resolve problem.

Our evenflo sureride titan 65 car seat, model 37111623 pq 3, manufacture fate 2014-08-13, broke on 6/19/16. The entire mechanism connecting the strap to the seat came off when we pulled the strap to secure our child.

Evenflo sureride titan 65 5pt convertible #3712198 manufactured 7/28/15. Our company has 20 of these seats and each one has a "off center" issue with the internal harness. I have contacted the company representative and they are replacing the seats. I have come across this same seat, same model number, different manufacture date with the same issues. I have asked evenflo if they were recalling the seats due to the "off center" of the harness to which i am waithing for a response. What the harness is doing is bunching up in the harness slot also causing the harness to have slack on one side. I have also found that the harness adjustment lever shifts to one side causing the splitter plate to pull the harness system off center.

My wife was tightening our daughters evenflo child restraint seat belt when the screw attaching the harness to the seat came off. This means the restraint, while not showing obvious signs of defect, was unsafe for weeks or months before and would have come off in case of an accident. The plastic was stripped by the screw after just over a year of light use.

Evenflo titan 65 model #3712198, convertible car seat, manufacturer date 7/28/2015, the harness release button wasattached to the car seat crooked making the harness adjuster strap lean to one side pulling the right side of the harness strap allowing slack in the loop and it has detached from the splitter plate.

The adjuster piece became unscrewed from the car seat. The straps no longer restrain my child.

The contact owns an evenflo sure ride titan 65 child seat, model number: 37121429. The seat was manufactured on september 15, 2014. The safety seat was being utilized in a 2013 mazda 3. While the vehicle was stationary, the tensioner cable became detached from the child seat. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The purchase date was unknown.

Unsafe seat design.the evenflo titan 65 seat has a very unsafe harness adjuster mount design.the adjuster appears to only be held in by one screw that is in plastic.when the seat is in the rear facing position you can not pull down as it appears the adjuster is only designed for.because there is a single screw that is screwed into plastic and it is not strong enough to withstand everyday use the screw pulled out after a few months of use.this screw is the only thing securing the harness, so when the mount failed there was no way to secure my child.luckily this happened while tightening the strap and not during an accident which would have left my child unrestrained. This design is not sufficient to survive in the real world in the rear facing position or any position if the user pulls the strap upward.(related vehicle information: model year=2012, make=nissan, model=altima)
