Symphony lx all in one car seat by evenflo, i purchased the car seat at the end of june 2020, and while we were out a couple days ago, we discovered the shoulder strap was torn making the car seat no longer functional.*dt

The contact owns an evenflo symphony car seat, model number: 34611709, manufactured date: (05/08/2017). The contact stated that the harness strap that goes across the chest failed to secure the child in the car seat. The contact owns an evenflo car seat, model name: symphony, model number: 34631038, manufactured date: 03/25/2015. The contact stated that the child was able to unclip the shoulder straps and the child was able to free his arm from under the straps. Also, the rear glide mechanism would slide down and the straps would not remain secured. The cause of the failures were not determined. The manufacturer and dealer were not contacted.*dt

This is the second evenflo symphony 65 that we have owned.the first we sent back to the company due to a failure of the harness (i.e. The restraint harness loosened freely without having to push the release button) after about 15-18 months of use.the replacement model that they sent us is now having the exact same problem (failure occurred in the same timeframe).in speaking with the representative, they confirmed that the old seat did have a harness failure.this seat receives only routine use and has never been in an accident.evenflo has asked me to send the seat back.

My two evenflo symphony 65 cars seat have a screw on the harness release button that keeps coming lose. One of them will no longer tighten it just spins. The harness release button moves around like crazy due to the lose screw and makes it hard to loosen the harness.

I have multiple evenflo carseats that were recalled due to the restraint buckle. I have requested several replacements for the my multiple car seats. Receiving only 2 replacements of the 4. I am still dissatisfied. The replacement buckles seem to get stuck even more. The new metal that snaps into the buckle and release has a lip on it and gets caught everytime i release the buckle. Aside from needed 2 more replacements i still feel the new buckles create the same issue for quick release in an emergency. Please contact me to further assist me with this issue. Cpsc: evenflo symphony: consumer stated the belt guide is a safety hazard for infants. *ssthe consumer stated she noticed her son's leg was between the car seat and the door due to a gap on the side of the car seat, which cold pose a problem if an accident happened.

Chest harness loosens without release mechanism being used.straps can loosen by pulling on the lower portion (leg straps) or by child moving/stretching in the seat. Contacted evenflo on march 27, 1013 and reported the problem.a new seat was sent out to replace the old one.

The webbing of the straps are fraying with normal use.

Hi. We bought this car seat (evenflo symphony convertible 3451881) in 2010 and after taking the padding off today to cleanit we noticed the seat belts were ripping apart on each chest strap (left and right).the locations were underneath the padding and looks like a result of some kind of rubbing/or abrasion against the plastic edges of the seat frame as we loosen/tighten the belt.after reporting this to the manufacturer, evenflo, they advised that it couldn't be a defective product because of their rigorous testing but had to be consumer fault.this damage would not have been detected unless the cushion was removed for cleaning and all owners of this product should check their carseats. We found similar complaints online of the same problem and the company's response was the same.

We were given this vehicle as a gift from my in-laws and took it to a licensed child seat inspector to ensure the car seat was installed properly.the licensed professional took over 40 minutes trying to safely secure the car seat but did as best as she could using the locking mechanism as this vehicle does not work properly with the sure latch system on the car seat nor does it have a seat belt locking mechanism.even with the locking mechanism, the car seat is still not safely secured!we are very stressed and highly concerned that should we get into an accident, our child may suffer serious if not life threatening injuries.the safety inspector said she has never dealt with a vehicle which was so poorly designed for car seat safety and suggested we look into this vehicle's recalls for car seat safety issues.

Cpsc: we have 2 evenflo symphony car seats. Have been using them for less than 2 years. We took oneapart to wash it and discovered the straps underneath the seat cover were shredded. 50 percentof the way through. Dtthe consumer stated the manufacturer was contacted, but had not responded.

Cpsc: evenflo symphony 65: consumer stated the plastic screw that attaches to the anchor strap was stripped, and loose. *ssthe consumer stated tugging on the anchor strap with minimal effort released the screw.

The contact owns an evenflo symphony child seat, model number 34511349, and manufactured november 26, 2012. The contact stated that the child's leg became caught in an indent in the child seat. The child sustained bruising to the leg as a result. The manufacturer was not contacted about the failure. The seat was not replaced.

Fraying of the harness straps near the seat base.

On saturday april 5, 2014 i tried to remove my grandchild from his evenflo symphony model 3451881 made on 3-25-10 expires 3-23-18.the chest portion of the harness which is a snap together lock would not open. It took me 4-5- times to force it open. I have another evenflo symphonymodel#3451881 made 4-13-10 expires 4-11-18. I tried that one and also had extreme difficulty getting the snap lock open.in case of an emergency extrication i believe i could not get them out in time to save their lives.the recall from evenflo only covers manufacturing years 2012-2013. I believe evenflo is acting like gm and the cobalt car and only covering select years to save money.if there is even a hint of a latch lock on the harness opening all should be replaced by evenflo. I am a retired police officer of 33 years and from my professional experience/opinion nhtsa needs to re-examine the recall for older seats that have not yet expired and need the new buckles.

I have an evenflo model 34511125 date 4/24/2012. It is a convertible car seat for use up to 110 lb i noticed that the seat and base are twisting away fron each other and the seat does not sit level. I contacted the manufacturer and they are requiring i pay them to have a replacement sent to me. I believe this is a huge saftey concern. This seat had never been involved in any sort or accident

Harness does not remain tight. Screw attaching tightening strap gradually loosens, eventually detaching from the car seat.

This complaint is regarding an evenflo symphony carseat; model #: 3451925; manufacture date: 11/9/2009. The child harness straps of the carseat can sometimes be loosened without depressing the harness release button. This happens immediately after the harness release button has been depressed and then released, as well as several minutes (or more) after the button has been released. I have tried pulling the button back up so that the harness remains tight, however adult fingers cannot fit in to pull it up. My daughter is able to loosen the harness herself, only by puffing out her chest and stomach while buckled. The force of an accident could loosen the harness as well.the carseat has been through 2 1/2 years of normal use and no accidents (other than a minor rear end accident that did not warrant replacement of the seat by safety standards).i contacted evenflo, and they did not offer any way to correct the problem. They offered me 50% off a purchase of a new evenflo carseat.

The screw that anchored the metal clip attached to the harness adjust strap, became loose and dislodged from the seat itself.the seat was unsafe after that happened.*dt*as

I pulled the strap used to tighten the chest straps and the metal housing came out. The straps do not lock or secure the child with this piece removed from the car seat. I screwed it back in using a philips head screwdriver. I'm concerned that it will become loose again because it is not riveted in or bolted in. Also, it is screwed into plastic which wears fairly easily. I am concerned that the plastic may eventually wear and not hold the screw in place. It seems it should be riveted or screwed into place. The carseat is an evenflo symphony model 3451953. The model number is not listed in the choices.

We have a evenflo symphony car seat that we just realized is very unsafe. The tightening mechanism that is used to tighten the straps completely fell off. We were not home and therefore it could have caused a very serious situation due to the fact that the car seat is unusable. There had been issues we noticed for the past few weeks with tightening the straps.we would put our child in the seat and tighten the straps and then within minutes, the straps would loosen to the point where it was unsafe.then the mechanism came off all together.

Cpsc# i1110930a. Evenflo symphony 65. Consumer stated that cracker crumbs in the hole for the crotch strap prevented the strap from locking. *ln

Cpsc: eveflo symphony: consumer stated the screw that holds the restraint tightening strap came lose. *ssmodel 3 34511349.

Just noticed the harness belt was becoming more difficult to pull tight.last night i noticed the strap to pull the harness tight was frayed and getting caught in the clip.

The contact owns an evenflo car seat that was being used in a 2010 nissan altima. The contact stated that the car seat harness and latch buckle was hard to open. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure.

The strap used to tighten my son's carseat has begun to fray. I noticed it about a month ago. This is the second time we have had this issue with the same model of carseat. The strap has begun to fray so badly that it is difficult to loosen the safety harness to get him in and out. When this happened with my previous seat, evenflo reviewed the pictures i sent in and said it was a defect in my seat so they sent me a new one. This time they said the fray was caused by a small animal chewing on the strap, which is laughable. It is clearly caused from the strap rubbing against something inside the seat when it is pulled to tighten. They will be sending me a replacement seat, though i have asked for a different model. I do not feel that this model is safe for children to ride in.

I purchased a evenflo symphony 65e3 about three months ago.i had a mazda 3 which has bucket seats.i went to the proper car seat inspection station to have it installed.i noticed the car seat was leaning but though it was because of the bucket seats.i recently purchased a suv and noticed the same thing.but my suv does not have bucket seats.i would try to get the car seat to sit correctly but it never did.i took the car seat out so that my husband could find out what was going on.he noticed that when the car seat is sitting straight up and not reclined position, the car seat comes off of the track.he then put it back on the track but as soon as he touched it, it fell off of track again.i am still trying to get a hold of evenflo to find out what can be done as we cannot fix the problem with a part replacement.i do not feel safe with my baby in this car seat.

Cpsc: i14b0173a. Evenflo symphony. Consumer statedthe latch belt was defective.the consumer stated the seat was missing a strap and an anchor pinthat was supposed to anchor thelatch belt to the seat. Model # 34511056.

I purchased the evenflo symphony dlx platinum protection all in one. Model 34611476c manufactured 2017-05-31. Im having a problem because the crotch buckle is not adjustable (which for an all in one i would think it should be). My son is 22 lbs, 30 inches, the car seat is installed correctly and level to the ground. I belt my son in with his bum back, straps pass the pinch test, and chest buckle at armpit level. However when we drive he slips down in the car seat and becomes slouched. After he has become slouched the straps seem loose and his chest buckle moves down. I do not understand how this is considered safe. I have talked to many people who have used or currently using this seat and they all have the same problem. I see there are multiple complaints about this happening to infants in this car seat. Obviously this is not safe if the straps are not longer tight and the chest clip has moved. I would think this is fixable with an adjustable crotch strap. To me this doesn't seem safe and i am unsure how this passed safety checks.

Harness under the seat pad had significant fraying that was undetected for an unknown length of time.manufacturer claims rodent, however it does not seem consistent with rodent damage, in addition i've talked with other parents that have similar damage in the same spot.

The crotch straps are frayed so much you could just rip them out by hand. Called for replacement and then took the carseat apart for cleaning. When pulling the straps so they were fully extended for cleaning (they can not be removed from seat) the straps are frayed. It appears when the straps go beneath the seat they rub on the plastic causing this to happen. The buckle that i received to replace the frayed will not even work for the carseat because the original snap pieces can not be removed from the straps unless they are cut off and the old ones don'tfit the new buckle *dtconsumer stated 2nd carseat.

The manufacturer was not notified of the problem. The child seat was not replaced.

Evenflo symphony elite convertible car seat (2)size: no sizecolor: paramountmodel nbr: 34611709mftr date: 2/11/16the car seats are properly installed (per guidance from a child car seat certified technical), facing to the rear as is recommended for children under 2 years. Although tightly buckled in, both of my 22-month olds can wiggle out of the upper straps within minutes. They know where the release lever is and, based on the experience of my older son who was out of his car seat at 26 months (different car seat manufacturer), i have no doubt these two will soon be out as well. I am scared to death. I can't see them and even if i could, if i'm driving on an interstate in heavy traffic i may not be able to pull over immediately and of course, pulling over carries its own set of risks. And in the end, it wouldnt makemuch difference: they'd just get out again. Since this has happened with two different manufacturers, and 3 of my own children, i consider the overall design of car seats to be flawed and i am begging for your agency to provide guidance to the industry to "go back to the drawing board" before a child is seriously injured. In the meantime, i am wracking my brain to think of ways to keep my children safely in their seat.please help!

I purchased my daughter the evenflo platinum symphony dlx all-in-one car seat back in august of 2015.the car seat is great except for the chest buckle.the buckle is extremely easy to disconnect.my daughter who was 22 months at the time was able to actually unbuckle herself by barely pushing on the button and wiggling her way out.i tried to distract her by giving her soft toys to play with in the car and also by pulling over each time she got out of her car seat to discipline her.nothing worked so i called evenflo for advice and hoping they might have a more intricate buckle i could replace mine with.our first phone call was met by a very rude employee.her advice to me was to scold my daughter enough to shock her and to give her toys to distract her.this should never be the response from a customer service rep.the second time i tried calling i asked to speak to a supervisor.i was told that the supervisor would return my call within 24-48 hours.i never received a phone call.i ended up returning my car-seats back to babies r us and bought the graco 4ever seat which has a more intricate chest buckle.i realize that not everyone's child will play with their buckle, but this issue should be taken seriously by evenflo.after dealing with this issue i googled the evenflo car seat and found out that i am not the only customer with this issue.evenflo needs to address the issue and fix their buckle.

Contact owns an evenflo child safety seat, model #: 34621358, model name: symphony 65 dlx convertible car seat, manufactured july 23, 2013, purchased on august 4, 2013. Contact reports that the harness buckle does not un-latch easily, and only un-latches with great difficulty, and after numerous attempts. Therefore, contact reports that the child cannot be removed from the safety seat in a reasonably timely and safe manner. Contact furthermore reports that he previously replaced the harness buckle through the manufacturer on or about may 20, 2014, after a safety recall (dot # 14c003000) was issued by the manufacturer evenflo. Contact therefore states that while the manufacturer evenflo contends that the replacement harness buckle remedies the unsafe and defective product and renders it safe, the replacement product part, in fact, continues to demonstrate the same characteristics which led to the initial recall (dot # 14c003000).

Cpsc# i1420414a. Evenflo symphony car seat. Consumer stated the seat had damage to the harness straps. *lnwhen the consumer placed her granddaughter in her car seat and then tightened the harness straps, the buckle strap at the crotch completely detached from the o-ring that was inside the car seat. The consumer removed the car seat from the vehicle and removed the car seat cover, pad and foam inserts to see what happened and upon closer inspection of the harness straps, the consumer found the straps on both sides that ran inside the car seat had significant fraying. The manufacturer reviewed the pictures the consumer sent, and stated they found it consistent with damage caused by animal chewing and /or clawing on the strap.

Our evenflo symphony is 5 years old and we've noticed that once buckled in our child's restraints would be looser than is safe once we have reached our destination. We discovered that the carseat harness will not lock when tightened, so loosens easily. This occurs every time we attempt to restrain our child in the seat. I contacted the manufacturer and was offered a discount on a new seat since the warranty is expired, even though the seat itself is not expired.

The contact owns an evenflo platinum symphony (na), model number: 34611722. The seat was manufactured on july 21, 2015. The safety seat was being utilized in a 2007 acura rdx. While driving at various speeds, the contact noticed that the child removed herself from the child safety seat and pushed herself up over the seat causing the child to fall. When the vehicle was stopped, the contact inspected the seat and all the harnesses and straps were still in place. The child was in the safety seat at the time of the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The purchase date was unknown.

My daughter has a evenflo symphony model #34511720 made in 7/28/2015if she tries hard enough by fidgeting and moving, basically, when she throws a tantrum because she doesn't want to continue being strapped in, she is able to loosen up the straps. I'm not sure what i can do about this. It doesn't happen often but it does worry me that she is able to loosen up the straps.

Evenflo symphony dlx car seat

I pulled the strap used to tighten the chest straps and the metal housing came out. The straps do not lock or secure the child with this piece removed from the car seat. I screwed it back in using a philips head screwdriver. I'm concerned that it will become loose again because it is not riveted in or bolted in. Also, it is screwed into plastic which wears fairly easily. I am concerned that the plastic may eventually wear and not hold the screw in place. It seems it should be riveted or screwed into place. The carseat is an evenflo symphony model 3451953. The model number is not listed in the choices.

We purchased an evenflo symphony 65 car seat in august 2012. The straps are now beginning to wear through where they rub against the buckle. I contacted evenflo regarding the problem, and they insisted that the straps must have been chewed on by rodents, and there could not possibly be a problem with the car seat. Evenflo offered no repair or replacement solution, and simply said they would give a partial discount on a new seat. According to multiple news stories and customer complaints found online, this seems to be a widespread problem, and many other customers are also being told by evendlo that the torn belt must have been caused my rodents. Evenflo is not acknowledging this defect with the symphony seats, leaving customers little option except to either purchase a new seat, or continue to use one with dangerous, weakened belts.

Upon loosening the straps in my child's evenflo symphony car seat to wipe them down i found the portion of strap that resides inside the seat had a significant amount of fraying, which could prove dangerous in a crash, especially if it had worsened before discovery. I contacted evenflo and they were not the least bit concerned and offered no remedy to the solution. They refused to replace the product because it was past the one year warranty, though it was well before the expiration of january 2018. This model the straps are not replaceable. If it is only guaranteed safe for a year then it should not have an 8 year expiration or claim to be the only seat you need from birth to 100 lbs. It is clear from other reports online at least several other have reported this problem and have also been brushed off by the company.

The contact owns an evenflo safety seat, model number: 34611106, model name: symphony, and manufactured on january 8, 2013. The contact stated that after numerous attempts the child was able to be release from the safety seat. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure.

My husband and i each have an evenflo symphony dlx in our vehicles that we purchased new in 2014, and this has happened in both seats...when tightening the harness, the screw that holds the strap in place popped out, which meant we could not loosen the harness. We were able to put the screw back in, but in the event of an emergency, it would have been difficult to get our daughter out of the seat. Also, they have had seats recalled for similar issues in the past.

It appears when the straps go beneath the seat they rub on the plastic causing this to happen.

I was cleaning my daughters evenflo symphony 65 (3451881( 04-19-2010)). I noticed the strap on the right side of the carseat near her hip is starting to tear and also where the chest clip is located there is a small tear in the strap. I just called evenflo and there is nothing they can do because it is out of the warranty period and they said it was probably caused by rodents. There are several complaints of the same problem with the straps tearing and the parents not realizing it until they were cleaning the seat. Evenflo said rodents caused all of the seat straps to tear. What a joke!

I purchased an evenflo symphony lx/dlx convertible car seat - model number 34611176, manufactured 8/6/2012. I've had the car seat for roughly a year and the restraints have frayed, making the seat no longer usable. The restraint frayed where the buckle secures the child's lap, as well as up above the shoulder where the harness connects to the seat.

The contact owns an evenflow symphony 65 child seat, model 3451959, manufactured december 2009.the contact stated that the harness adjuster strap was frayed and the release buttonbecame very loose and moves around.the manufacturer was notified and advised the contact to not to use the child seat. On june 20th, i loosen the straps on my child's evenflo symphony car seat in order to buckle her in, it was then i noticed that there was severe fraying on one side of the 5 point harness shoulder straps as well as the beginning of fraying on the other side.i immediately discontinued use and installed another car seat i had.i contacted the company about the problem, but they refused to acknowledge that it is a manufacturing defect despite this same problem being repeatedly reported on their facebook page as well as numerous other car seat/parenting websites online.model number is actually 34511125, but it is not available as an option under the evenflo car seats....updated 08-08-13

My husband was putting our child in the carseat. He pulled the strap and it snapped. I contacted evenflo and they told me a rodent or small animal must have chewed on the strap. There is no other evidence of rodent activity in our vehicles or home (i was formerly alicensed pest control technician). I'm thankful we were not in an accident. The harness strap broke near the base of the seat and has obvious fraying ( that couldn't be seen under the cover).evenflo's solution was to offer me 50% off and free shipping on a new seat. *dt *dtconsumer stated harness is not replaceable. Photos are attached.

Chest harness loosens without release mechanism being used.straps can loosen by pulling on the lower portion (leg straps) or by child moving/stretching in the seat. Contacted evenflo on march 27, 1013 and reported the problem.a new seat was sent out to replace the old one.

The contact owns an evenflo symphony child seat, model number: 3451881. The contact stated that the child seat's chest harness would not latch. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The purchase date was unknown.

Harness does not remain tight. Screw attaching tightening strap gradually loosens, eventually detaching from the car seat.

Harness under the seat pad had significant fraying that was undetected for an unknown length of time.manufacturer claims rodent, however it does not seem consistent with rodent damage, in addition i've talked with other parents that have similar damage in the same spot.

My two evenflo symphony 65 cars seat have a screw on the harness release button that keeps coming lose. One of them will no longer tighten it just spins. The harness release button moves around like crazy due to the lose screw and makes it hard to loosen the harness.

Just noticed the harness belt was becoming more difficult to pull tight.last night i noticed the strap to pull the harness tight was frayed and getting caught in the clip.

I noticed yesterday that the harness on our convertible car seat is frayed on both sides, near the hip buckles.car seat was manufactured 12/7/2010, evenflo symphony. Model #3451959.we are still using this as a forward facing 5-point harness car seat.

Evenflo symphony car seat harness has frayed/torn over 3 years of use.no unusual activity - no checking it on airlines or anything like that or incorrect washing - just in and out.noticed one large fray and then upon closer inspection found several more in both the harness and buckle components.evenflo does not offer replacement harnesses, so entire seat needs to be scraped.cant imagine what would have happened in an accident.

I have an evanflo symphony platinum dlx car seat and the strap is frayed where it comes out of the bottom of the seat. I quit using the seat and purchased a new seat. Sent in a complaint with pictures to evanflo and was told it was an animal chewing on the strap and nothing can be done. There is no way this is the case. The car seat never left my car until it became defective.

I recently pulled the outer cover off of our evenflo symphony 65 car seat to clean and noticed that the right side seatbelt strap was torn/frayed half way through!this belt was so compromised that a complete failure was imminent, whether from a collision or eventually wearing completely through.i immediately called the manufacturer.the young lady i spoke with said she had never heard of that happening, and stated that its definately not safe to use and recommends that i don't use it.no kidding!she then stated that it was more than 90 days old so it is past warranty and there was nothing they could do...which is fine, i didnt call for a replacement...i called for the general concern that if this has happened to our car seat, then it could possibly be happening to others!not once was i asked for any information regarding the seat.not knowing what else to do, i put it on facebook and tagged evenflo, to which i actually did get a response stating that my problem was noted and their engineers would look into it.well, after breifly researching on the internet, i have found that this is a more common problem than it needs to be.numerous complaints in nhtsa, news stories (http://www.cbc.ca/news/business/car-seat-safety-frayed-harness-leaves-child-unprotected-1.2640324), blogs....this is an obvious safety concern that needs to be addressed immediately.complaints on nhtsa stating the manufacturer even told them it was caused by rodents!must be a coincidence we all have the same car seat and a rodent eats the same belt in the same location...but skips all the crumbs and animal crackers that my kids drop and are in between and under the seat!i don't know if anything will come of this, but i surely pray it does, because even if it saves one child, it is worth fixing, and evenflo needs to step up to the plate and handle it.

I took my daughter's car seats out of our vehicles to clean them. I took the covers off of them, washed them in the washing machine and hung them on the clothesline to dry. Since i had the covers off, i thought it would be a good idea to clean the rest of the seat as well. While i was doing that i noticed a problem with each of her seats. The symphony is the biggest concern to me and is very disappointing. The seat belt is frayed. I don't mean just a little bit. It is very noticeable. I will not use this seat at all anymore. We have purchased a replacement seat. The triumph has an issue that i don't know if it is a safety issue or not. The top foam is supposed to have "tabs" holding it in place. Only 1 of the 3 tabs was doing its job. The other 2 had pulled through and the last one that is holding on is on its way to pulling through. Since we have a safety issue with the other seat, we have decided not to use this seat either. We have replaced it as well. I am really, really disappointed and concerned. I like your product. That is why i bought your brand for both of her car seats. However, i will be very skeptical of all of your product from now on. I still have both seats at this time.

I have had 2 evenflo car seats and both models have an issue with the release latch for the belt.the screw securing the release latch comes loose (and eventually will come out) if the screw is not re-tightened).this report is for the model evenflo symphony; model number 34611358 manufactured on 1/9/2013.this is a very serious situation, because if not caught will render the entire belt restraining the child in the car seat completely useless.i contacted evenflo and they sent out a replacement and that car seat did the same thing.a second replacement was sent and i am still having issues with that car seat.i will do another report on the other model of evenflo car seat that i have that does the same thing (although, the screw doesn't come loose quite as fast).the date reported below is the date i first contacted evenflo about this situation.this has occurred in the car seat while rear and forward facing.

When putting my 2 year old son into his car seat, i discovered that the seat belt on one side had completely torn in half.i had not noticed any damage before, as the point where the belt was torn was below the seat cushion, under the seat.when i got home, i took the seat out of the car and investigated some more.i discovered the belt on the other side, was torn in exactly the same spot, but had not completely broken in half yet.the spot where the belts where torn is where they feed into a 90 degree angle.i took several pictures and e-mailed them to evenflo's customer service department.their response was that an animal had eaten through the belts.that seems strange to me, for the following reasons:1) the belts were torn at exactly the same spot on both sides; 2) the point at which they were torn is under the seat, where it would be very difficult for an animal to access; 3) there was no other damage inside the car or to the seat (i.e. Carpet, blankets, the seat cover (made from cloth), etc.).please be aware that your dop-down list of evenflo models does not contain this model.it is symphony model 34511125.

1. Carseat cover smelled from a juice spill so cover was removed for the first time for wash and cleaning. No other incidents/crashes/injuries occurred. Owned carseat since march 2014.2. Just from normal everyday use even though it hasn't been in any kind of accident the styrofoam inner layer that protects the child was in several different pieces, to include a large piece falling off of the lower right side making the carseat completely unusable.3. Called the evenflo parent link number and spoke to a representative. The representative informed me that foam breaks sometimes and that i needed to pay for the replacement foam. I was then charged $18.00 to have replacement foam shipped but informed that it would take 2-3 weeks to get to me. I was also put on hold and made aware that one of the pieces needed was on back order which makes me think it happens a lot. After telling the representative how ridiculous it was i was told that they could use up my one time free replacement part service and send it to me for free but if i did that if i had any other part failures i would have to pay extra. So i have a useless car seat for 2-3 weeks until the part gets here and i will not even have all of the pieces i need.

As i was buckling my child into her evenflo symphony car seat in order to travel, i began to attempt tightening her staps via the easy adjustment strap that rests at my childs feet. As i did so, the screw and metal plate that hold this strap in place came off, thus not allowing me to tighten my child's strap properly. Had i left my child in her seat and continued to travel, my child would not have been restrained at all, the strap could have loosened, causing my child to be unsafe.
