Buckle gets stuck. Hard to get child out of car seat.

Evenflo chase forward facing booster with 5-pt harness. The problem occurs every time my child and a friend's child have been strapped into the seat, i have been afraid to use it in the car. The problem is that the r shoulder strap is overlapped on itself to secure it at a permanent length (making two straps on the r shoulder) and allow for the placement of the harness adjuster; one of the straps, the one that is not secured by the chest clip easily slides on and off of the children's shoulder. Upon contacting evenflo they provided a replacement harness system...same problem. They then reported to me that the second shoulder strap (the one against the child's body and not through the chest clip) should remain in place with the "tension of the harness lying against the child" i tried everything to get this to work but just a little bit of wiggling by the child and the strap falls right off of their shoulder. Another thing i recommended to evenflo was that if the two r straps were connected to each other, it would eliminate the issue. Please help....i'm very concerned with the safety of the children in this particular seat. The model number of my seat is 32921010pq1 and the manufacture date is 02/23/2010.

When trying to remove my grandson from the car seat, the red button will not push in to unlatch the lock. We have taken it apart and cleaned it but it continues to do this 50% of the time i use this car seat.

Purchased evenflo chase booster car seat for my 20 month old who is 31 pounds and 32 inches tall (model 3292566 - was not listed in drop down selection).i planned to use this seat with the 5 pt harness, but returned the product to the store because i felt it was dangerous for my daughter.walmart took the seat back after i explained the issue i found.i placed the harness straps in the proper slot for her shoulder height in the seat, however when i adjust them in order to buckle it the chest clip was right up against her throat (choking) due to the harness adjuster location when extended.i would think this feature of having the harness adjustment on the strap is dangerous for any child as they grow.

The red button on the buckle was difficult to unbuckle at times. It got to the point that i needed to struggle for 10 minutes to unlatch the buckle to remove my grandson from carseat. I cleaned the buckle and actually sprayed a little wd-40 inside to make it function adequately. Since then, i noted the graco buckle recall and it appears from the picture that this may be from the same subcontractor.

Simply unbuckling my daughter the chest latch broke. One of the clips that snaps in just broke off. No accidents. No rough use, it's a child's car seat. I'm afraid my daughter may come flying out if an accident were to occur.

The clip that connects in the middle of the harness will not stay locked into place. It will not click and it will not stay. Once my daughter is secured in her seat all she has to do is slightly pull forward and the middle clip comes undone so that her shoulder straps are loose. I am afraid to let my daughter ride in the seat.

Evenflo carseat apparently has an oval shaped indention in the center portion of the carseat with a sharp point which makes contact through the cloth padding to the mid portion of the child's back, resulting in injury.

Evenflo car seat actual button on buckle jammed & my 3yr old was stuck in car seat...i am not sure of manufacture date bought @ wal-mart 3-4 months ago & my child had to have car seat so swapped for same car seat if there is a recall oncar seat i would like to know so that my child is not in harms way.

When my daughter is strapped in the car seat the buckle gets stuck and wont unlatch so she has had to climb out of it..when you push the red button it doesn't unlatch and doesn't even move like its stuck..

Your evenflo chase lx harnessed boosters need to be looked into... The belt/latch gets stuck i almost had to cut my son out of the car seat because the latch would not release.. Graco has semi addressed their issue and you need to as well...i bought it in 2013 ... Model #30611352 made 03/02/2013 expires 03/20/2019.... This needs to be looked into before kids get hurt!!

While riding strapped in to this car seat the chest buckle is coming in-done. My daughter is 10.4 kg and 15 months old. After properly securing her in the seat, the chest piece pops open if she goes to lean forward. The buckle between the legs also gets stuck frequently. It can be pressed completely down and the clips do not come out like they should. The chest piece popping open has happened twice now. This car seat has not been in any incidents or accidents.

The contact owns a evenflow child safety seat model number 30611117, model name chase and manufactured on april 16, 2013. The contact stated the locking mechanism which is position between the child's legs, became very difficult to unlock on multiple occasions. The manufacturer was not notified in reference to the defect. Jft

While trying to set up the evenflo booster seat we encounter the following problem.the harness anchor would not "click" {lock} into the top harness slot. This would allow the shoulder belts to wiggle arround.

I received a brand evenflo chase with no screws for the arm rests.the seat is:date of manufacture 2017-05-03model number 30611847, purchased from walmart

The car seat would not unlatch.this has happened on 5 occurrences.the last occurrence resulted in needing an additional person to help get our 2 yr old child out and took over 30 minutes.tried to oil / lubricate and finally it unlatched. We still have the car seat and it's parts, but have discontinued using the seat due to the extreme safety concern.what would happen if the car was on fire and you can not get your child out????

The red release button gets stuck and is almost impossible to get it to release trapping the child in the seat. I have had to try over 30 times in one sitting with both thumbs at the same time to get it to release. I always break both my thumb nails. Today was the 15th time it has happened and i was forced to drive back home as i couldn't get her out.

Evenflo 32911117 chase11-12-2010has a defectplastic is very sharp that it cuts the bays seatbelt and car seatbeltthe baby seatbelt was cut in 2 areasplus parts of the plastic was broken under seatmy vehicle was not in any accident and carseat has not been moved out of car for any reason.

When child is placed in seat, the front right side strap is the fastening device to tighten belts. Like a normal strap fastener, there is a mechanism that loosens when you push the button, allowing the belt to be moved either direction. My problems are 1. My child will sometimes attempt to slouch or recline by scooting his r hip forward and to the r which then pulls on shoulder belt just enough to allow l side to tighten an equivalent amount which leaves my kid screaming mad and stuck sideways in seat. 2. My child is 2.5 yrs old and 38lbs, well within the 20-100lb weight specs for this car seat, and he is still phasing out of the teething/mouth stage where he explores things by putting into his mouth. With the front harness buckle strap being right under his chin, he nearly suffocates himself routinely by simply putting excess strap in mouth. He will further grow into carseat making cutting an unreasonable option. But every time i turn around i find himself gagging on the excess strap (about 5" ). He has choked and vomitted 2 times now and i refuse to put him in seat any more.

I have the evenflo chase model #32911254 made 02/09/2012 the buckle is stuck so often i couldn't continue using this product anymore. It became a health hazard when i was not able to get my daughter out within a timely manner in an emergency situation. I have searched for recall information and you have yet to recall this model # which could lead to number of tragedies. Please consider taking some action. I would love to continue using and purchasing evenflo but due to this issue i'm very hesitant.

We bought a honda odyssey in june 07.immediately we were noticing that the seat belts were ripping and not sure what was causing this.after the 3rd time the van was in for seatbelt repairs we figured out that it was my daughter's carseat, evenflow manufactured: 06dec05 model# 3261568 p1.somehow this carseat was causing the seatbelts to fray and tear apart.i am going to contact evenflow regarding this as well as check on recalls for this particular carseat.

We have the evenflo chase booster carseat, manufactured 7/6/2012.the buckle locked and would not release when the red button was pressed!child was stuck for an extended time.

I've had issues with my sons carseat for a while now with the buckle that goes between his legsbeing hard to unlatch. It's just been getting more difficult to unlatch as time goes on. The red button is very hard to push.brand: evenfloname: chasemodel # 30611352made in 2013/01/18expires on 2019/01/17.

Evenflo express vision/ chase traditionsforward facing booster with 5-pt harness. The problem occurs every time my child has been strapped into the seat,. The problem is that the right shoulder strap is overlapped on itself to secure it at a permanent length (making two straps on the r shoulder) and allow for the placement of the harness adjusted., the one strap that is not secured by the chest clip easily slides on and off of the children's shoulder..i have tried everything to get this to work but when she moves just a little bit it falls right off of her shoulder. I have tightened it as tight as i can and it still seems to fall right off. I have also had it installed when i bought it and they had a hard time even getting it on and staying in place. They thought it was weird. I do worry this is not safe for anychild, please fix this issue with a new harness please. Tighten it from the front bottomwould be so much easier. I i bought this booster child restraint on september 14,2013 from an agency here in klamath falls oregon.thank you.... The model number of my seat is 32921122 and the manufacture date is 06/03/2011.

I use the evenflo chase dlx booster car seat for my 3 year old. Most of the time we don't have occasion to remove the seat, but because i was leaving her with my mom overnight, i wanted to take the seat out for her use. When i tried to reinstall the seat the following evening, the lower "tether" snapped completely out at the plastic "bolt" on the back of the seat. There was no way to fix the problem and i had to install the seat with the seat belt and "h clip".my concern is if i hadn't uninstalled/reinstalled the seat, using the vehicle tether system, and i had to make a sudden stop or been in an accident, my daughter may have been seriously injured. The seat is still usable with the seat belt, however, this matter is of great concern. I don't want any other parent to not know about this defect and think their child is safe.(related vehicle information: model year=2004, make=dodge, model=caravan).

The buckle on the car seat will not come undone when pushing the red button. We've had to extend the straps and pull the child out from the top multiple times. This happens multiple times a week.

No accidents or incidents just tried to push release button that is located between legs would not release. It started off stiff when purchased at walmart. Had to remove straps from back shoulder plates to get child out.

Every other time i use the car seat, the left harness strap falls out of the splitter plate in the back.the plate looks symmetrical and undamaged.the only fix is removing the car seat, fix, reinstall.

My family took a 4.5 hour long drive for a vacation. We stopped once to get out and walk around. My son was sitting in his car seat (made in 09apr2010, name chase, model # 3292566 pq2, manufactured in us, exp. Date 07apr2016) the entire trip with the exception of us stopping once. This car seat is our backup car seat so we don't normally use it for long trips, which would explain why we never noticed this before. When we got to our destination, my husband noticed my son had a nickle sized circle mark on his lower back. It looked like something was rubbing/pressing against his back and breaking the skin.the first thing i checked was his car seat. Behind the cover on the actual plastic frame where my son's lower back would rest is a circle with a sharp plastic point in the middle. I believe this rubs through the car seat cover at my son's lower back every time we used the car seat. The longer the trip, the more it rubs, and the more injury caused. I will never use this car seat again for fear of harming my son.

I have the evenflo model 32921122 (chase).it was made 12-15-2011.today when my son was buckled into the seat one of the plastic pieces from the chest strap broke off and the chest strap popped open.i could not imagine what would have happened if it had been in an accident with him.

I have the evenflo chase carseatlisted on the evenflo recall but the representative i talked with evenflo says it is not on the recall.it was on the recall according to their information on the computer.i could not push the red button to release the crotch strap.neither could the policeman trying to help me. It was 95 degrees outside when this occurred.very bad situation.evenflo company is not honoring their recall.i will never buy anything from evenflo again.the evenflo representative was a very rude and argumentative.(related vehicle information: model year=2010, make=altima, model=nissan).

There has been several occasions where the 5 point harness buckle on my toddlers car seat will not unlatch. I have had to unbuckle the car seat out of my vehicle with my 40 pound toddler in it, take it inside my house, and spend minutes trying to take him out. If i had not paid all that money to buy both car seats (i have two identical), i would have already cut the straps off. I'm just afraid that if there was ever an accident with fire involved , my child's life would be at risk. Please help!

I purchased an evenflo car seat in november of 2012 for around $65.00. The model number is 30611352 and the date of manufacture is 10/23/2012. I bought this seat because it had great reviews and was in my price range. I thought that this would be a great product to keep my child safe, and i continued to think that until last friday evening. I had taken my son to the local wal-mart to do our weekly grocery shopping. When i went to take him out of his car seat, i couldn't. The buckle was stuck! neither i nor his father could get the buckle to unlock. I had to uninstall the car seat with him in it, and pull the straps off of the back and wiggle him out from the top. I bought another seat while at the store. The evenflo seat has since unbuckled and i checked to make sure there was nothing visibly stuck in it or if it hadsomething spilled on it and it appeared it had not. I called the company and was told i could get a replacement buckle and that it would be different and had some changes made to it. I opted not to because i feel that there may be an entrapment hazard with this model. *dt

One of the prongs on the chest harness has popped off.car seat has never been in an accident.i am assuming this is from regular/daily use.i went to toys 'r' us, babies 'r' us & target - no replacement part was available.will have to purchase a new car seat??

I have an evenflo car seat model no. 3252966. On july 3, 2011, i noticed my son, who is two years old, was able to unbuckle the top plastic restraint of his car seat. I checked to make sure i inserted it correctly and he again unbuckled himself. This restraint is a danger because my son can unbuckle it easily and is no longer properly restrained when he does so. This is not something i can easily notice or correct when i am driving which leaves my son at greater risk for injury or god forbid death.

The chest buckle does not stay latched.after properly securing the child in the harness the chest buckle becomes unlatched with the regular wiggling of the child.*dtconsumer stated i tried a few more times and was unable to get the chest to stay buckled. I also attempted to pull the chest clips apart on my other car seats (combi cocorro andgraco extend2fit) and remained buckled when i pulled on them.

Buckle gets stuck. Hard to get child out of car seat.

The contact owns an evenflo chase convertible child seat, model number: 30611355, and manufactured january 29, 2013.the contact stated that the harness buckle clips had to be unlatched with abnormal force. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The child seat was not replaced.

When my daughter is strapped in the car seat the buckle gets stuck and wont unlatch so she has had to climb out of it..when you push the red button it doesn't unlatch and doesn't even move like its stuck..

While trying to set up the evenflo booster seat we encounter the following problem.the harness anchor would not "click" {lock} into the top harness slot. This would allow the shoulder belts to wiggle arround.

Evenflo/chase car seat harness button wont work had to take car seat apart for child to get out.i could save time by cutting strap.

I have a evenflo booster, with harness.... Model #32911253name: chase manufacture date: 03-26-2012. Had been having problems off and on with, button for harness attach... Today, would not release...both left and right clips would not release from the harness button would not release....if there had been an accident with fire, the only way to get the baby out would be to remove the whole car seat from vehicle...today, i stripped her down, shoes and coat and i pulled on the harness straps down over her shoulders, and proceeded to pull one strap at a time and feed her legs through....once we had both legs free we wedged her and her hips free.... Her father had told me a week ago to carry scissors in case something happened to cut her out...

One of the prongs on the chest harness has popped off.car seat has never been in an accident.i am assuming this is from regular/daily use.i went to toys 'r' us, babies 'r' us & target - no replacement part was available.will have to purchase a new car seat??

Shoulder strap loop detaches from back bucklewhile loosening to allow child to get in the seat. I normally press the button on the bottom front of the seat while pulling down on the shoulder straps to loosen them.at that moment the upper end of one of the shoulder straps comes completely free from the bracket on the back. I then have to loosen and unclip one of the latch clips from the bottom of the car's backseat, thread the shoulder strap back through the shoulder-level hole in the seat, and loop it back onto the y-shaped buckle behind the carseat.my fear is that the strap will come loose in a crash and my daughter will not be secured to the carseat.in my opinion there should be a spring clip or something similar that holds the loop onto the y-buckle, or there should be a smaller opening in the buckle, or it should have a less direct path to get out of the buckle. (related vehicle information: model year=2014, make=honda, model=crv)
