Evenflo model # 4531156p1, dom 11/15/2000. After putting the childseat in the grass during sunny weather the child seat caught on fire. The manufacturer will be notified.

The evenflo discovery child car seat is completely unstable turning completely on to its side several times. No matter how tight the seat belt is this car seat moves from side to side when making turns. This happens while on the base or without with just the seatbelt being utilized. I thought perhaps it was just the base itself, so i tried it without, its just a lousy car seat. I am currently reading up on the safest ones to buy to secure my daughter in a safe manner rather than this, it really is pathetic and unfit to be in any vehicle let alone carrying any child!if child safety was important to evenflow they would recall this piece of crap. Just like in your crash test videos that are on your site...this is what this seat does while just turning a corner, thus i don't care to find out what would happen if someone hit my car with my daughter in her carseat. Just how does this company get away with still having this carseat not being recalled is beyond me.

Complaint regarding car seat in which infant was seated in during a fatal accident.*mr(evenflo child safety seat, model #3161291p1).

Hello, i have an evenflo infant car seat. It was made dec. 14th 2006 and the model # is 3911769.i use the base to this car seat when using it in my subaru. I have found that my sons head "flops" forward quite a bit in the car seat. I use receiving blankets around his head to keep it in position but his head still flops downward.it seems like the car seat doesn't sit back enough when its hitched into the base. I don't really know what i can do to fix this problem but it doesn't seem like it is safe for a new born. My sons was 9 lbs when he was born to so he's defiantly not to small for the car seat or anything. The car seat just sits upward and forward to much.it seems like if i where to put something underneath the back of the base then the seat would sit more level and his head wouldn't flop forward/down all the time. Although that doesn't seem like it would be safe either.

My child has easily been able to unbuckle the strap from the chest clip of her evenflo discovery infant car seat from the time she was 3 months old. The seat was purchased in november 2003 from target. When contacted, evenflo said it had not heard this complaint and had no explanation for me. I believe other babies could be doing the same thing. Several times i went to get my daughter out of her seat and her strap was loosened and unclipped from the chest clip. Because it is rear facing, i could not see her unbuckle the strap. I think this seat needs to be recalled immediately so that the company can come up with a way to secure the strap.

My child was restrained in evenflo discovery car restraint seat properly and did not exceed weight or height measurements.we had a roll over accident and rolled approximately 3.5 times.during this rollover his body was thrown out of the seat and his head was left in with the chest plate holding him in.when we came to a stop the car was flipped upside down and he was left hanging.when i got to the back seat where he was located he was blue and not able to even move air to cry.i promptly got him out with the help of my 13 year old son.he was okay a few seconds later.these types of car seats are not safe in my opinion in a roll over type accident and should be recalled.he would have hung had we been incapicitated and unable to reach him.i will never use this type of car restraint again.

I used an evenflo discovery (model 4791255 16apr02) car seat for less than six months when the plastic piece that holds the strap to the seat broke.it broke through normal use; there was no accident or excessive force that caused the malfunction.this allowed the strap to pull to its maximum length without any resistance.in an accident, a small child would easily slide through the loosened straps.i called evenflo on three different occassions and attempted to voice my concerns.the employees refused to allow me to discuss the matter with a superviser and instead only attempted to sell me a replacement part.despite my pleas of concern and my emphatic statement that even a replacement part wouldn't get me to put my child back in this defective seat, they never allowed me to file a complaint.
