My son's infant car seat (evenflo comfort demensions travel system/ manufacture# 5851405an1 / date may 22, 2004) does not securely fasten in any of my cars.i have tried it with and without the seat belt lock and with the lap belt & lap/shoulder belt.regardless of how hard i try to make it snug, so that the base or the car seat is secure, it remains loose.when using the base or the car seat alone it moves side to side causing the car seat to tip on either side each time i turn.also, the release latch, on the base, sticks and makes it hard for me to release the car seat.this has happened over 50 times since i have had this car seat.

The contact owns an evenflo child restraint seat, model number: 48111215, manufactured august 7, 2012. The child seat was being transported in a ford focus, the year was unknown. The contact was traveling through an intersection and a vehicle crashed into the front end of the contact's vehicle. The child being restrained in the child seat sustained a head injury and a concussion. The straps of the child seat remained intact and the seat stayed in place, but the child was still injured. The vehicle was destroyed. A police report was filed. The contact did not know if the manufacturer of the child seat had been contacted.

Carseat purchased from walmart by family. Nurse at hospital was assisting family with positioning infant in seat and ensuring straps at the correct level and tight enough, and couldn't get shoulder straps to line up correctly from the hard plastic slit through to the fabric slit. The 3 slits did not align. This made it so the fabric got in the way of properly tightening the straps. The fabric hid the fact that there was compressible space between the baby's shoulder and the back of the seat. An untrained eye would not likely know that this was a problem. I consulted one of our hospital's car seat technicians and she agreed it was strange. It seemed like the fabric was made for a different seat or that it shrunk. (the seat was brand new, fabric hadn't been washed.) advised the family exchange the seat for another one. Evenflo model #47811256 manufacture date 11-30-12.

The canopy on the child safety seat does not stay in the up right position to shade the child from the sun.also, it is very hard to remove the seat from the base.

Car seat flipped backward while the consumer was pushing the stroller and caused the child to fall out.the stroller hit a bump, in which the car seat was attached to it.the child slid onto the pavement after the car seat was ejected backwards (comfort dimensions sportabout travel system). *scc

We bought our evenflo car seat, model 5931473 n1, manufactured 26 may 04, as part of a travel system with the stay in car base in late july 2004. It was backordered and didn't arrive until that fall. After we began using the seat, it got stuck in the base and couldn't be removed. In desperation i slammed the back of the seat down- it made a loud sound and i was able to remove the seat. I thought i somehow put the seat in wrong. After awhile, it happened again- with the same process of getting it unstuck. The manual didn't mention this situation. I checked the seat for recall- it hadn't been, so i thought it must be ok. We used the seat for nine months and this would happen periodically. I was concerned about the safety of the seat, but with no recalls, i decided to use it again with my new baby, born in may 2006 as it doesn't expire until 12/31/09. The problem has occurred way more frequently and my level of fear has risen considerably. I again checked for recalls, and finding none, i called evenflo. They told me they no longer make the seat and because it appears that there's something wrong with the base (it's not just my base- my friend has the same seat and even though she had a problem with her seat sticking too, she let me try it to see if it would work better with my seat- nope.) that i should stop using it and just use the seat without the base. I bought the seat for the higher weight limit (22 lbs vs. 20 lbs), and for the convenience of the stay in car base! the seat belt part is located under the seat, down by my child's bottom, so i cannot use it as a removable car seat without removing her too. I also have a toddler. They are times when lugging an infant and keeping hold of a toddler at the same time can be difficult so i feel forced to use the base. Now the straps don't stay tight. I'll tighten them when i put her in the seat and when i go to remove her, i find that they have loosened somehow. This seat is completely unsafe and i need to replace it.

Evenflo model # 5761297p1. Child safety carrier handle failed to stay locked in the carrying position. This resultedin the infant swinging forward in the carrier.

I purchased the evenflo chase booster seat, when i got it home and proceeded to fit it for my child i had a horrible time re-threading the straps.i had to use a screwdriver to get the metal plates out to start the process and once i got it re-threaded i worked at getting the metal plates to fit into the slots where they are supposed to go on the back of the seat and not only is this nearly impossible but it actually ate away the plastic that was to hold the metal plates in place.i gave up on this after a 30 minute struggle and took it back to the store, i would not have felt safe putting my child in it after it ate the plastic away while trying to get the harness strap plates in correctly.i would strongly suggest a recall on this seat not only is it horribly put together but it is way overpriced and i don't think it would hold up in an accident.

Dt:consumer has an evenflo comfort touch car seat, model number 3591328p1, date of manufacturer april 13, 2004 that has been owned by the consumer for less than a year.when retrieving the car seat from the car for travel by airplane, the styrofoam from under the base had a straight line across the base that was cracked and styrofoam was coming out from the car seat itself. The child safety seat had not been in any accident or had any previous trauma.no previous problems with the child safety seat.the child canpull the fabric padding and the styrofoam from the base of the car seatand put it in his/her mouth.this padding is held by two hooks, one at the base and one at the back.the consumer did have to pack this with duct tape due to the fact this was discovered when the consumer was taking the child safety seat for an airline departure and it was a last minute discovery.the only reason the consumer purchased the seat was because consumer reports identified this as one of the safest models available.consumer has not contacted manufacturer at this time but plans to.

Evenflo model # 3681262p1, there's a knob that adjusts the css shield, which is located on the side of the shield. This knob broke while the consumer was adjusting the shield without any force being used.

The child safety seats harness plastic clipshattered.as a result, the child was not restrained properly because the harness straps would no tighten.
