I received a recall notice for my infants child seat, telling me the carseat could become detached from the base in a high impact side collision. The remedy evenflo was offering was a double latch system to be sent to me to use. I went to their website and watched the installation video. I was shocked to see that the latched was a second belt to be threaded under my child's base and manually hooked to each side of the carseat every time i put the seat in and untightened and unhooked every time i took the seat out. I have an suv, so i would have to step up into my car and reach over the baby everytime. I also have two other children that does not leave time to do this. I called evenflo to see if they would come up with an another solution. They would not. Only suggesting that i leave the carseat in the car the whole time, elevating the attaching and detaching, and take the baby out when i want to transport. I told them that would not work because my husband and i have two bases in separate cars and we both need to transport him with the carseat. Then they told me to not use a base at all, and to just put the seat in the car without any base. They are letting consumers down. They have a major potential safety issue with their discovery model carseat and their only remedy is to inconvenience their consumers.i would have been fine with another seat or if they sent me some sort of evenflo merchandise certificate to cover the money wasted on this carseat and the two bases. Instead they are doing nothing like that. I feel like i have purchased an automobile, and the manufacturer sent me a recall about my driver side seat belt, and told me the only thing they will do about it is send me a second lap belt for me to attach over myself everytime i get in and out of the car. It is unacceptable.

The contact owns a 2007 evenflo discovery 3901769l2 child seat.the contact owns two of these seats with the same model number.on one seat, the part that connects to the straps to keep it intact failed.the straps on the second seat appear as if they will fail in the near future.evenflo has not been notified.

When i was taking my son out of the car, i grabbed the handle resulting in it to fold downward when it was locked in place. I also have to adjust the harness everyday because it comes loose. The harness does not stay locked like it should causing my son to fall forward thank heavens i'm alert and can catch the problem before he falls out. I called evenflo but they just offered a different car seat of the same model. I proceeded to tell them that if one is defective then they all probably are and i do not want another one.
