There is a label discrepency on the evenflo titan carseats model# 3672098 manuftured 030/07/2005. Above the rear facing picture the label reads "rear-facing 5-30lbs." however under the warning! death or serious injury can occur statement the label reads: "use only in rear facing position when using it with an infant weighing less that 20 punds."

Lableing is giving conflicting information on the use for the rear facing mode of the seat.the seat is an evenflo titan, manufactured:12-29-10 and # 3702098.the label on the side of the seat states that the seat can be used for children from 5-35 pounds for the rear facing mode.on the first bullet point it says. " use only in a rear facing position when using it with an infant weighing less than 20 lbs"this is telling us 2 different things.the later is telling us that we can use for a child from 0-20lbs.

I have the evenflo titan convertible seat. All information on evenflo's website and on the outside of the box for this car seat states that it can hold a child between 5 and 30 lbs. Rear facing. When you look at the warning sticker on the car seat (inside the box, after you purchase it) it says to not put an infant weighing more than 20 lbs rear facing in this seat. On the same sticker, it has a graphic of a rear facing child and says "5-30lbs". I called evenflo about this and was told by an incredibly rude woman that it only says 20 lbs "for legal reasons" and that i can safely place an infant up to 30 lbs rear facing. When i asked what their "legal reasons" were i was told that it is just legal reasons and to not worry about it. Of course i am going to worry about it. I am not planning a lawsuit, i am just trying to safely transport my child.

I noticed that the webbing on one of my mothers car seats was beginning to fray in a couple of different spots between the buckle plates and harness retainer clip.neither of us knew of an incident that would have contributed to the damage assuming just from general use.

The harness strap buckle -- the sliding plastic piece that should tighten the harness straps at the chest moves too easily on my evenflo titan carseat (the model with the padded shield, not the titan 5).on multiple occasions i have gone to remove my infant daughter from the seat, only to find that the plastic piece has slid so low as to allow her to easily fit through it if we were ever in an accident.there is no way to tighten the tension on the straps directly or fix them in place.i have given today's date below because the problem is on-going, not because of any particular incident.

We have a new evenflo titan car seat, and we just went to our local police department to have its installation checked.the officer tried and tried to tighten the straps with the strap that is near the child's feet, and like us, was unable to do so without substantial effort, and even then, he indicated that the straps were not tight enough on our one-year old son.from the reviews i have read, it seems that some people have this problem, and some people do not.i am wondering if there might have been a defective set of these seats produced.thank you.

We purchased an evenflo titan v carseat based on the #1 safety rating by consumer reports magazine. Unfortunately, it is almost impossible to tighten and/or loosen the harness on this carseat. It takes approximately 10 minutes to fasten my 7 month old child into this carseat. I have contacted the manufacturer directly and they are rectifying the problem for me by giving me a 100% refund of my purchase price which will be good towards the purchase of any other evenflo product as long as it is purchased directly from evenflo. I am happy with the results of this problem, however i do feel there is a serious manufacturing flaw in this seat. Not quite sure how it can be rated #1 by consumer reports when it is quite difficult to fasten your child into the seat. I have since purchased a graco seat which seems to be working much better.

January 2007 i purchased 2 evenflo titan car seats from a local retailer. Upon inspection of the car seats i noticed that the bottom front of the seat cover was melted on one. After looking further i found that the base of the car seat had several areas that looked like melted in fingerprints along the entire front. I returned this car seat to the store and was shocked when they opened five more boxes and all of the seats looked the same. I did not have an accident with this seat, but i think that the safety of the seat would have to be affected if the seat got hot enough to melt. I hope that you will look into this so that no children are hurt due to the defect.

Upon attempting to turn our evenflo convertible car seat around to front facing, we discovered that the tether strap is way too short to reach the tether hooks in my mini-van.it is, indeed, so short that it would not reach the hook in any mini vans or suvs that i have seen.we called evenflo and were told that they were aware of this manufacturing defect, but had no solution available.this makes our car seat unusable in the safest fashion!i saw this car seat today in the store with the too short tether strap.consumers should not be required to risk the safety of their children because of a manufacturing defect.the seat is an evenflo titan convertible seat for children 5 to 40 pounds.
