My youngest daughter is 41/2 now, was eager to sit on booster seat like her sister for so long, last month i bought one called evenflo (model # 3402914a)attarget, it looks beautiful, but the armsets are plain plastic,no fabric cover. The booster seat got way too hot if i park outside in summer. There were so many times [xxx] refused to sit on that after we came out of library or store. Right now i have to flip the seat over when i park outside, it is bothering me.i worry the other kids might get burn from the hot plain armsets , the manufacturer should make fabric covers for this kind of booster seats, and recall all the ones which doesn't have fabric cover. When she arrived home and took the child out of the car seat, the straps unlatched. It was discovered that the metal clip did not snap into place. This booster seat was a spare seat. Despite its age, it was used only 5 or 6 times in it's life. I was installing it in our secondary vehicle on saturday 3-10-07, and while adjusting the vehicle seat belt adjuster to fit my son's height (he has grown several inches since it's last use), the clip that attaches the harness adjuster to the seat snapped into several pieces. This resulted in the harness adjuster becoming useless. I am very glad that this happened while installing the seat, and not during a crash, however this confirms to me the poor quality of this seat. I contacted evenflo to report the failure of this piece, and they were unconcerned. They explained that the seat is only warranted for 90 days from purchase or 1 year from manufacture. They offered to replace the broken part, but under the circumstances, i did not feel comfortable using the seat further. They refused to offer a discount on the purchase of a different model seat and further dismissed my safety concerns about using the seat. Replacing the flimsy piece was the only solution they would offer. I will be destroying and disposing of the seat instead and purchasing another brand.
