While driving 30-35 mph consumer's vehicle was involved in a crash which resulted in the vehicle rolling four times.the car seat strap snapped while latched.the chest locking clip was replaced with locking mechanism which acted as a backup restraint.upon impact, the air bags failed to deploy......also, shoulder belt failed.
The plastic piece that is included in the latching mechnism has broken and it no longer latchs.
Clip is not connected and my child is able to push the unconnected side out (the belt) if the harness is not adequate.
When the child lifted forward the straps unlatched which resulted in the child being unrestrained.*nlm
During head on collision at a relatively low speed (30 mph), the child safety seats poor fit in combination with the plastic shell failure resulted in movement of the seat/failure to restrain properly, childs head collided with the back of the seat in front, child suffered neck injury that rendered him a quadriplegic. *mjs

Carseat was apparently thrown a wire protruded thru the cloth seat cover and our sixteen month old sustained abrasions on her cheek and forhead.

Dt*:the contact stated the child safety seat did not stay secured in the vehicle.the body of the seat tilted forward, backward, and to both sides.the base of the safety seat was secured by the seat belt.

Date september 20, 2000buckle sticks when very cold outside.i received this brand new as a shower gift 7/2001.we just started using it in august 2002 because our child outgrew the other evenflo carrier type seat.when very cold outside, the buckle is hard to unlatch to remove my child.we have to hold the red release button while pulling up hard on the bar. Evenflo was notified of this and said there is nothing they could do because the 1 year warranty is up.she suggested that we blow it out with a air hose.i have cleaned this out with the vacuum before.it usually only sticks when it is very cold.my child does not eat while in the car so food/drink is not the problem.i think this could pose a dangerous problem if any accident or emergency would occur.

The locking device to adjust the belt does not hold, and the straps are very loose.

Evenflo model # 235119p2, 02/25/97; a piece of wire/nail from the overshield protruded through the padding of the car seat up by the head area of the child seat. Owner indicated thatboth of these seats are for twins. Both have been replaced by the manufacturer.

The shield on the seat broke completely off the frame when pressure was applied from the child. This happened while owner was driving. Manufacturer has not been contacted.
The buttons on the seat popped out, and the springs came loose. Seat is unable to be used.

I have a evenflo ultara i town & country secure advantage child seat.the red pins securing the swing shield came loose while i was driving and while the child was in the seat, leaving the child completely unsecure.this could have seriously compromised the safety of the child if it had happened in an accident.

Evenflo child car seat model #2361t2p2manufacture mar 01, 2000.the shield came off the main body of the car seat prematurely with normal use, making the car seat unsafe. In the event of an actual accident, the car seat likely would have failed to protect the child in the car seat.

Evenflo ultara 1 premier car seat, model #2361t6p1, manufactured 05/18/1999.strap that connects the center shield to the bottom of the car seat became unattached from the metal bar that was holding the shield to the bottom of the carseat.ph

Consumerhad a problem with car seat.spring clip on hand bar popped out where seat belt went through.consumer called manufacturer & they didn't have the part to replace seat.
