Eddie bauer car seat model number: 22-630-hpnon this day i was taking my daughter to her doctor's appointment. As i was strapping her into the car i realized that the car seat didn't feel secure. I strapped it in as tight as i could and started my drive to the doctors'. I didn't even get out of my driveway when i made the slightest turn and saw the seat with my child in it totally flip over onto it's side.she cried and i couldn't get her to stop crying because she was terrified. I honestly don't know how manufacturers actually pass this car seat as a safety seat. I followed all directions and strapped it the right way and for this to happen was very disappointing. All the money thati had spent on what i thought was a good investment down the drain. I don't recommend this seat to anyone. I'm just so thankful that nothing serious happened to her and that it happened in a place that i could pull over. Otherwise i wouldn't know what i would've done this eddie bauer seat looked very stylish and secure when it was first purchased but once you install it into the car you realize the huge mess you got yourself into. Please don;t make the same mistake i did. Save your money and don't purchase this item.

We were using a car seat and base purchased in august 2006 for our newborn.the item is an eddie bauer integrated travel system, stroller, car seat, and base. The model number is #22-630-hpn.we went to two different certified car seat check centers to verify proper installation and usage, and were fine.about one month ago, while turning a corner, the car seat with my infant detached from the base and flew into the other seat.we attributed it at that time to human error as we could see no visible damage or problems, and the baby seemed to be okay.for the past couple of days, i have had difficulty in locking the seat onto the base, and have had to triple check its position to verify it was installed properly. I attributed this to the awkwardness of the car seat and positioning on my part. Today (10/23/06), the same thing happened when turning a corner. The seat detached from the base and flew across the car with my baby inside. At this point i realized that it was not our error, but something wrong with the car seat or base.i contacted the manufacturer and was told i could exchange the item. Since i liked the stroller that came with it, we had another car seat, and since we did not have the original receipt, i agreed to do an exchange.however, after getting over the shock and becoming angry, i decided to return the item completely and be done with it.i do not want to see any other children injured or worse from the use of this product, and would hope that you would conduct an investigation.thank you.

Thecompany who manufactures the seat is called dorel juvenile group and they are not easy to talk to. We have told them many times that it is the car seat itself and that it was not clicking onto the base properly. They insisted it was the base and they would send a new one. Well, last night it was hooked onto the new base and it came off. She was not hurt, but that it ridiculous to have the car seat come off the base and roll over while i was driving. It definitely scared our little girl. This happened last night, we called first thing this morning and they said because this is the third time something has been wrong with our car seat they could refund our money if we had the receipt.

I have a dorel juvenile group, eddie bauer infant child seat, that came with the stroller (3 in 1).model # 22-630-hpn.the infant seat harness and lap belt are way too small.they have been too small since the day we brought her home from the hospital.the seat says it is for 5-22 pounds, our daughter is 14 pounds and we can no longer use it at all.we adjusted the harness straps as far away and as close to the lap belt as possible so she could fit without it being too tight and it still doesn't help.we took the straps off it and re-strapped it to the chair to see if it was an internal problem and it didn't help.we called and had new straps mailed to us, they said maybe the straps were made too small, we got faulty straps, this didn't help.i borrowed a car seat from a friend to use for the next few months to get us by until she goes into a front facing seat.also the new seat will not be compatible with the stroller.i would like it if a new seat could be delivered to us or picked up so we can continue the use of the 3 in 1 system.
