While in a automobile accident the clips on my sons rear facing car seat that the seat belt goes through to hold the car seat in place broke off allowing his car seat to move freely in the car.

The car seat base is unstable when put in per instructions ,and by fire fighters a service they offer.the hole unit car seat and base tips over while driving.
The contact owns a 2005 dorel juvenile group eddie bauer three-in-one child safety seat.the model number is 22-630mrc.the contact stated that the base that connects into the vehicle is too narrow and unstable.she had a technician install the safety seat, but it still remained unstable.on one occasion, she made a sharp turn and the safety seat tipped over.the contact managed to catch the seat before it fell.updated 02/01/08.*lj
The car seat rolls and shifts when corners are turned.it is impossible to get securely in the car as was told by a car seat safety seminar.
Eddie bauer child carseat with base, model #: 22-630-mrc, mgf. Date: 8/16/05, no matter how tightly we secure this base using the lap/shoulder strap and locking clip, it seems the base would come loose if our car were to ever flip over.the base seems secure where the belt holds it down in the back (the taller part of the base that is closest to the back of the seat), but if you lift the front of the base up, it easily releases the base from the seat belt.we have followed the instructions to a t and have referred to our car's owner's manual as well.i can't believe there isn't a recall for this base/car seat.
