Lock off mechanism on base of car seat very difficult to release.repeatedly had to use tool to get mechanism to release.certified cps technician instructor assisting with installation/education of seat, defect discovered during car seat check.

I have a travel system from safety 1st that has the stroller and car seat.the model is 22-325-dta made 06-17-2004.the straps on the car seat are connected in the back of the seat by small metal buckles.these buckles have loosened and the straps have come out of the seat on various occasions.this has happened from movement of the child and from fastening and unfastening.i took the seat to the fire department to see if the straps were properly inserted into the buckles and as far we all can tell it is correct.i am in the process of finding another seat and have emailed the problem to dorel juvenile products.we shall see if anyone does anything.this is not safe and needs to be addressed immediately.the child would not be safe in a crash!!

The dorel child infant safety seat that was made on 10/10/2011. The product number is 22-391 mlo. The restraints on the seat are not safe for a child to be placed in the seat due to the restraints coming off or undone. All you have to do is simply pull on the restraints and they will come undone. And it is really unsafe if you have a infant in the seat that likes to hold the restraints or even play with them while you are trying to drive and cant always see what they are doing. I have had this happen multiple times while even just trying to place my son into the seat. The consequences of this happening are that i have to then either take him out of the seat and fix the restraints or i have to try and fix it while he is in his seat. The only thing i was able to do is fix the problem myself is to place velcro on the restraints on the back of the seat to make sure that they do not move at all when i place my son in the seat. I have tried to contact the company to see what can be done, but every time, i call there is a hold time or they are closed.

Cpsc#i1190088a. S1- safety 1st easy fit 65 convertible car sear. Consumer stated that this car seat did not fit into her car (dodge durango). The car seat had to be scooted up so far that it would have been very difficult to drive. Also stated car seat was difficult to tighten *ln

The contact owns a dorel safety first ic057abq (na) child safety seat, which was manufactured on december 21, 2009. The contact stated that there was not enough room for the child's head to fit properly in the seat when the head roll was attached. The head roll also caused the shoulder straps to sit higher on the child than they should. The manufacturer was not notified regarding the failure.

Dorel juvenile group child restraint seat - safety 1st summit sold at walmart store palmetto, fl feb 16, 2013. Seat sold new with no owner's manual. Seat back cushion elastic retaining strap slips off. Latch system hold down straps are not routed through frame of seat - instead, they terminate in a "y" configuration to a very thin (half inch) single strap in center of seat. This does not look safe and i am returning seat immediately.(related vehicle information: model year=2010, make=nissan, model=murano).

This complaint is concerning the safety 1st on board 35 air model # 22395aoqthere was no option to choose this seat in the form. The car seat was new and in the original packaging.we took the infant seat out to see how it works and inspect it.when the carry handle was placed in the full upright position (the position the handle would be in if the infant seat was being carried) the handle completely detached from the seat at the pivot point.this only would occur if the handle was in the carry position and not if it was in the position where it was pushed back.there was no evidence of anything being broken and no pieces were found in the box or packaging.

Recently purchased child restraint seat, upon installing in vehicle noticed rear base attachment holes were not made into unit ,which prohibits rear base attachment buttonsfrom connectingto base, seat can not be correctly connected to base.

I have a safety 1st complete air 70 convertible carseat. I purchased it in july 2013. In september 2016 i took the seat out to move it to a different vehicle and the headrest fell down. When i examined the back, two screws were out of the left side plastic piece that holds the bar on. (the piece that moves the head rest up and down) i have no idea how long it was like this but had we been in an accident my son's head would have been thrown forward with the headrest as it was completely detached on the left side. We screwed the screws back in and fixed the head rest, but the holes must be stripped because the screws will not stay in the plastic piece. There are no cracks or damage to the plastic piece and i have never been in a car accident with this seat.

Base is missing holes needed to lock carrier into base.

The contact owns a dorel juvenile group safety first car seat, model: cc044-aua, manufactured december 16, 2010. The contact stated that the straps that wrapped around the child's shoulders would angle upward and wrap around the child's neck. The contact spoke with the manufacturer and was told to place a wash towel between the child's neck and the straps.

My three month old daughter was a passenger properly strapped down in her rear facing seat when my uncles car hydroplaned on a rainy sunday evening when rear seat failed to hold up and protect her.i defiantly think this seat had a defect. The handle popped loose and cut her behind the ear causing severe head trauma and resulted in the loss of her life. It has been an ongoing process trying to get answers as to why the seat was not strong enough to hold up. I have read several other complaints about this exact seat and the handle breaking while mothers were just carrying their children and for no apparent reason the handle just broke. I really won't have any closure until something is done about this. As a parent i'm sure you would feel the same way no matter what.now with that being said if she was not properly restrained i would be held accountable for any injuries sustained, so please look into this matter carefully.

Product: safety first alpha omega elite 3 in 1 convertible car seat model number: 22456-ttn mfg: l #02 b051836 manufacture date: 03/05/2010 around 1/28/12 we have recently noticed that the seat belt on our alpha omega elite car seat is shredding. (literally a 12" area in the middle of the belt that if continued to use and wear, you'd eventually be able to just stick your finger through.) the damage is visible as we pull the belt to loosen it and move the padding on the strap down. The fraying of the belt is several inches long, vertically, and continues to behind the seat. Since noticing this, we have discontinued use of the car seat as we feel any damage to the seat belt is a severe safety hazard as the strength will no longer be there in the event of an accident, and we only want the best for our child. The damage appears to be caused by rubbing the seat belt over the metal bars on the car seat itself as the straps are tightened and loosed as the damage is vertical rather then horizontal. (there are 2 bars come together and are welded right behind the harness path leaving an edge causing the damage.) this seat was used less than a year under manufacturer directions. In addition the strap to tighten and loosen the belt is fraying on the edges. Around 2/16/12 a replacement seat was issued. Around 7/1/13 we have noticed both of these problems again with the 2nd seat (same info as above). I've contacted the company asking for a refund at this point as i don't trust their products to protect my child. The first seat was used forward facing since we couldn't get it installed correctly rear facing for a 24lb child less than 2. The second seat is used for the same child now 3yrs, 37inches tall, and only 28lbs. Dorel industries never took the seat to look at it, but rather just a few parts to ensure the seat was rendered unusable, despite our concerns that this was a huge manufacture defect and should result in investigation! i have not been notified of any recalls.

I contacted safety 1st/dorel recently to alert them of two issues; my sister and i are experiencing with the four safety 1st easy fit 65 car seats we own for my son (11 months) and nephew (23 months) and they have failed to offer any solution. All four car seats cause both children's heads to fall completely forward onto their chests when they fall asleep due to the shape of the head rest (it is shaped like a wedge that angles up toward the top, so it pushes their head forward). This has even caused my son to make strange noises when breathing, which i believe is a safety issue.the second issue, the crotch strap is too short and comes out too far back (toward the back of the car seat) so my nephew is actually sitting on it and it is very tight on his thighs. The car seat manual says the crotch strap can only be used in the first two slots when the seat is used rear facing (which my nephew still is) and since we already have it in the second slot, it can't be adjusted any more.

The contact owns a dorel safety 1st child seat, model 22-460.the contact stated that the seat is made with a hump that hurts her child's rear end.the bump has worn a hole through the fabric and she would like the child seat replaced. Updated 04-08-08

The latch system on this base to my son's infant seat (the one that helps hold the base in place that you hook into the seat itself) some how came off. I am just wondering if this is some sort of a recall or not. I usually have this hooked up in my vehicle along with the seat belt for extra protection.

The contact owns a dorel safety 1st child seat, model number: cc138efy. The seat was manufactured on 10/30/2018. The contact stated that the information provided by the manufacturer was that the seat could safely secure a 5 lbs or more, and 19 inch long child securely. The contact stated that with her child in the safety seat and the harness buckle secured in the retainer, the straps were extremely loose. The contact stated that the straps were too long to secure the child in the seat. The manufacturer was notified. The contact was informed that the seat operated as intended.

Car seat has a head rest that pushes head forward to chest when child falls asleep, which makes it difficult for child to breath, and would surely be unsafe in an accident.crotch strap is too short to accommodate a 32 pound child in the second crotch strap slot, and the third crotch strap is only to be used when seat is forward facing.the seat states that it is for rear facing up to 40 pounds, but this is not the case if the crotch strap cannot be kept in second slot.

I bought a car seat for my son. I noticed the other day that my son can pull the chest clip for the car seat apart i tighted the seat more thinking it was to loose but when he did it again i took his seat out and looked and noticed that the latch barley clips together the button you push to open the clip doesnt work it wont latch and lock.

I currently have a highback booster seat purchased in december 2011.when trying to unlock the harness between the child's legs you have to apply pressure and pull to unlock to get it to open.as a result of this the child could get stuck if we were ever in an accident.i have not taking in steps to correct the issue.as of today i am not using the seat due to the issue as i an fearful that my child could become stuck.

Dorel safety 1st guide 65 convertable child safety seat rear facing foot collapsing when used in rear facing position.

In the april 2011 issue of pediatrics, the american academy of pediatrics issued a new policy statement advising parents to keep toddlers in rear-facing car seats until age 2. According to the faqs of the safety 1st complete air convertible (http://www.safety1st.com/usa/eng/faq-section?id=22), arecline angle of 45-degrees is required to rear face a child. And if this angle cannot be achieved, the complete air convertible cannot be used in a rear-facing position. This is impossible due to how the product is constructed. We have two of these and are appalled that the manufacturer refuses to issue a voluntary recall to preserve lives despite the countless posts on its facebook page about the problems encountered in trying to achieve this rear-facing recline angle. I hope this complaint will be heeded to preserve lives.here is a sample of posts from safety 1st's facebook wall (http://www.facebook.com/safety1st)-we've had ours over a year and with our toddler we have had nothing but problems with recline rear facing.-hey safety 1st! thanks for making your seat unusable in my vehicle. My very small 3yr old could have rear face in this seat for at least another year or so since he is only 30lbs and doesn't gain weight well.(he was 19lbs at a 1yr old) thanks for making me have to turn him forward facing which is less safe than rear facing. I bought this seat thinking it would keep him rear facing until about 4yrs old but i can't install it at a 45* angle. Thanks for making my son less safe.-many of us are wondering what we are to do with our seats since our toddlers obviously are not going to want to sit at the 45-50deg angle that your level line makes the seat. Many of us would like our money back for being misled into what we could achieve with your product.-i wish this seat would just be recalled so i can get another one instead. I am pretty sure toys r us won't take it back now... Past the 45 day limit.

Safety 1st brand infant car seat.the belt comes off very easily from the back of the seat without anyone knowing. Its the type of the hook that makes the belt come off. My child has come out of the seat several times and got hurt. I just foundthis site to report this. But this happened several months ago. If you need more detail, you can get in touch with me by calling me. The actual model #is 22 390 vinand the date is 3/12/2004og2b. I will punch a different model number at the end of this complaint for you to receive my message. But disregard that type of the model that this site asks me at the end .because i did not find my actual model number therefore i wrote it in this letter section. Thanks.

The seat is unable to be used in a safe manner. The level line located on the side of the seat forces the seat to be used at more than a 50 degree recline angle. Child safety experts have proven it safer for older children to be more upright(30-35 degrees). However, the company stands by the statement that they will not recommend use of the seat at any less that a 45 degree angle. However, they also require the line to be parallel to the ground, and if that is achieved the seat is at 50+ degrees. I am not able to use this seat at the install angle they are requiring. It surpasses 55 degrees once my child is in the restraint. The manual either needs to be updated or the level line adjusted to a more suitable angle.

The seat does not sit at the correct angle for a rear-facing car seat even with adjusting.the line used on the car seat to obtain the correct angle is 15 degrees off.instead of the car seat sitting at a 45 degree angle, when adjusted to the instructions in the manual, the car seat actually sits around 50 or more degrees.this renders the seat unsafe for rear-facing.

Cpsc:i1420403a. Dorel safety first car seat consumer stated she was involved in a car accident and during the impact her child was strapped in to her carrier car seat and it disconnected from the base. *lnthe consumer stated the locking mechanism malfunctioned. Model # tr 266bvb121124gb

The contact owns a 2005 dorel safety first enspira (model no 22-453) child safety seat.the contact stated that her 18 month old child got her finger stuck in a hole on the right side of the seat.the fire department had to release her finger by cutting the seat.the manufacturer was not notified.the failure type could not be determined.

I have a dorel starter infant car seat the harness buckle does not want to work properly some times it will not stay latched and most of the time it will not unlatched to remove the baby he is gotten stuck inside his car seat because it just would not release when the button is being pushed i do not feel it is proper to make him cry while i am struggling with the harness if we ever get in a wreck i may not be able to get him out so i am afraid to use my car seat.

Very difficult to unfastened the five point harness.

Cps- dorel ic021 dom 01-05-2011,the shell is very weak and pliable.it appears to be very weak and not as robust as other car seats of same price range even within the same manufacturer.weakest near the hear of the baby.thanks.fyi i am a cpst and see about 3,000 car seats a year.

I noticed my 4yr old son was able to unstrap himself from his car seat without pressing the release button on the car seat. I proceeded to test the release belt and button and to my surprise the belt came loose without pressing the release button. If i were to be in an accident my son would have suffered great bodily injury by flying off his car seat!

The handle of my babys infant car seat came loose after only 6 month of use. Back to front "play" is normal side to side "play" however s not. There is no way to correct it. The handle in time will fall off. There is a one year warentee on the car seat. I contacted dorel and am waiting for a new car seat and was told to stop using the old one immediatly as it is not safe for my baby to be in.

Dorel juvenile group has set unrealistic goals while using its complete air/complete air 65/complete air 65lx in rear facing mode including using nothing underneath the seat in order to put it at a 45 degree install (per pictures they have posted to parents on facebook). This install also makes it impossible to use the seat in which it is installed behind. They say that their seat did pass testing as lesser angles as toddlers do typically sit at angles between 30-40 degrees, but that they do not support using the seat in this manner. They also say that the rear facing height maximum (36in for original complete air and 40in for complete air 65/ 65lx) is to be followed exactly but their manual does not state that the child must be turned at this height, but does state that the child should be turned when their head is even with the seat shell.

The failure occurred when the four door suv my family was riding in was broadsided by another vehicle on the driver's side, at the driver's side door. My two year old son was riding in his forward facing alpha sport car seat in the back seat on the driver's side at the time of the collision. He sustained head injuries and black eyes as a result of his head hitting the window. Medical, fire and police personnel arriving at the scene do not believe he should have sustained this sort of injury while in a car seat. The car seat was buckled in properly and he was secured into the seat properly. My concern is that the car seat failed to protect him properly during the crash, and thus resulted in injuries he may not have sustained if he was in a different car seat. This seat also provides very little side protection around the child's head, which i would have never thought to be concerned about until after our crash.

I have a dorel group safety first convertible car seat and need the repair kit. Model number is 22412-mom.

The base of the carseat has straps that attach to the seat. I pulled forward the seat to unclip it and the strap came off. It tore and was frayed from the hole that is attached to the base. We purchased the seat less than 6 months ago and have only used it for 2 months. It hasn't been in any accident and has not been replaced or altered at all.

The contact owns a 1992 geo prizm and a 2008 dorel juvenile group safety 1st restraint seat, model number 22147-mdr.the seat was manufactured on march 13, 2008.while the child was properly secured in the rear-facing convertible child seat, the restraint buckle failed to release and enabled the child to be removed from the seat.the contact made several unsuccessful attempts to disengage the harness buckle; however, the harness straps and child were pulled out of the restraint seat with a struggle.there were no injuries.the contact was in the process of notifying the manufacturer.the purchase date was unknown.

The contact owns a dorel safety first child restraint.while the child was in the seat, the straps detached and the child fell out of the seat.the child suffered head injuries and was rushed to the emergency room.the seat states that it accommodates children up to 22 lbs.the child was 18 lbs. At the time of the failure.the manufactured date was april 3, 2006.

Child seat buckleintermittently does not connect with the latch.also, whenever the buckle does connect with the latch it will not release.consumer complains that the harness does not stay in position, and the child can get out of the seat on his own.

The harness straps get caught on the harness adjustment rods located on the back of the car seat. This is causing unnecessary wear on the straps whenever they are pulled tight. It is also very difficult to tighten the straps on the seat without pulling the harness bracket located on the rear of the seat. This is not a problem currently because the seat is still rear facing but will become a problem when the seat is turned around. I have contacted the manufacturer both by phone and email several times but my complaint has not been acknowledged. I have not been offered any solutions. Photos of the problems were also included in the emails.

I have a complete air 65 by safety 1st.the straps on the seat are positioned so close together it pinches my daughters neck and hurts her whenever i buckle her in her seat.it leaves dark red marks on her neck whenever she gets out of it.when i buckle her in whe always says "owww my neck!" as soon as i buckle her chest clip.i did contact dorel and they are having their technicians investigate it.the person i spoke with hasn't heard of this problem yet.i know of many other people who are having the same issue.my daughter is not a big girl.she is 2 1/2, 26.7lbs and 35.5".she has a thin neck so its not her body structure that is causing it.i am supposed to hear back from dorel in the next 24 to 48 hours.i will find out then what they will do to fix the problem.

This is about the safety 1st complete air se seat, model number cc051-air.this seat is impossible to install rear facing according to the manufacturer's instructions. The instructions say that the seat needs to be installed at exactly a 45 angle, and that the line on the seat must be parallel with the ground. The line on the side of the seat puts the seat at a 50 incline, not a 45 incline. I carefully measured the angles on a surface which i verified to be level, and this confirmed what i already had found out when trying to install the seat in my car.furthermore, even at 45 the seat cannot possibly fit rear-facing in the back seat of any car without putting the front seat too close to the air bag. It is too tall to install at such a steep angle. I am using the seat in a 2000 chevy suburban and there aren't many cars on the market with more room than a suburban!!the seat also claims to be usable for a child as small as 5 lbs and 19" long, but requires that the child's shoulder height be at least 10.5", which means the only 19" tall infant to fit the seat would have to be one with its lower legs amputated; and no child weighing only 5 lbs would ever fit this seat.

My son is three and he was in the car seat 22561-wal safety 1st... This seat failed.. The release would not activate.. Luckily enough he is a small enough little boy where i was able to loosen the back of the car seat to have him come through the straps. My husband who is a 300 pound man later that night pulled as hard as he could for the seat belt to release. We had to go buy another car seat because of course with this default i would never put any of my kids or therefore allow anyone to use it. Please act asap as we are in need of a car seat replacement.

Alpha sport enspira 3-1, 22458 nyc, manufacture date 12/28/2006. Continued difficulty with strap adjustment, started immediately after first use in august 2008, finally leading up to straps loosening with child in seat in october 2011. Only used as rear-facing infant seat. Replaced with new evenflo triumph 65 seat following incident.

Safety 1st comfy carry elite infant car seat, model ic094auz.mfg11-11-10.these seats do not lock into the base at the back of the base, only the front locks.this results in a very poor attachment. Other brands i have checked lock front and back. This seat seems very unsafe and will not protect the infant in a roll over type accident.

Dorel juvenile group (safety 1st) child restraint model: alpha omega model # 22172-mrt (manufactured 7/31/2008).harness adjustment strap does not engage and lock the harness straps properly.the harness adjustment strap can loosen very easily by my child pulling on the harness straps.the locking mechanism that is supposed to allow only tightening of the strap (unless depressed by an adult) does not lock the harness at all, the straps can loosen very easily.this could result in my child being unrestrained in an accident!the manufacturer dorel has no current recall or replacement actions for this seat.but this apparently has been a problem with similar dorel models.something needs to be done to protect others with this seat.

Recently purchased child restraint seat, upon installing in vehicle noticed rear base attachment holes were not made into unit ,which prohibits rear base attachment buttonsfrom connectingto base, seat can not be correctly connected to base.

The seat failed to attach to the base and harness failed to fastened.mr *ph

Crack in base for infant carrier with base car seat.crack approx 1-1 1/2 inch long, at head end of base.crack completely through base, can seperate pieces.car seat checked by cps t/i who observed crack.family advised to call mfr and/or return item to store.

Dorel (safety 1st) onboard air 35 model number ic155-avbmanufacture date: 12/30/2014i am a certified child passenger safety technician and i had a parent being in this car seat in new condition for a safety inspection. When i inspected this seat i found that the lower anchor strap was threaded through the base backward. Meaning the left lower anchor was on the right side and vice versa. This met that either the lower anchors had to be attached upside down to the vehicle or the lower anchor strap had to be twisted however this met that the tightening buckle on the strap would be on the inside of the strap thus making it impossible to tighten properly. There was no way to flip the strap as it is screwed down under a plastic piece of the base. It appears that it was manufactured this way. I am not sure if this is a one off mistake or a problem for multiple seats manufactured at this time.

The safety 1st child protective seat ic-088 / gb1a3 comfy carry - when the seat was put into the base it did not want to click in securely.if one pushed down on the front of the seat, it would click to hold but even with minimal effort the seat could be popped out of the base.both the parent and the car seat technician were having trouble to get the seat to hold.manuual was looked at and confirmed that the seat was being installed correctly.we a firm push the technician and parent could finally get it to click in correctly.the problem is that a parent in a hurry could put the seat in and think that the first click would secure it.the seat would not be secure.the consequences of a child seat that is loose is of course injury to the child, possibly even death, as well as potential injuries to any other person in the vehicle as the seat is loose and flying around the car.

After installing our new child safety seat, i re-read the instructions and realized i had done it incorrectly. I had placed the two "latch" clips upside down. When i removed the seat and attempted to flip the "latch" belt around so that the clips were installed with the arrows up as directed in the manual, i realized the belt had been inserted on the base incorrectly by the manufacturer and there was no way for me to rectify it. I called the manufacturer and they agreed with me and will be sending me a new base immediately. My concern is that i was able to install the base and seat in apparent working order, when it was not in fact correctly installed.

The contact owns a dorel safety 1st child seat, model 22303-aba.the seat was manufactured on september 22, 2008.the contact noticed that the seat tilts and causes the baby's head to move forward.she took the seat to a child seat technician and was informed that the seat did not have an adjustable base; therefore, it will tilt forward.the technician created a base for the seat by using some material.the manufacturer stated that the seat was not defective and should adjust to any vehicle.if necessary, the contact will have to place a special order for a new base.the purchase date was unknown.

Infant carrier does not lock into the base without pushing forcefully onto the front of the infant seat.no crashes have occured with this seat.this happens every single time i put the carrier into the base.after i lock it in it is hard to release.the crotch buckle is hard to release on the right side too.i have an 8 week old and it was thoroughly cleaned before she was born.it worked seemingly fine until recently. Dorel is being very slow on telling me how to correct this issue for me or even to give me options on how to resolve this.we have discontinued use of the base.

Child safety seat molding holding bar in place is loose.when disengaging the base, the metal rod needed to be pulled out.this required a molded plastic tab on one side to be pushed to the side allowing the rod to slip out of the base.the rod was free moving with no molding or other means to remain in place.*sc

Installation of a dorel juvenile infant car seat using latch.after i installed the base i lifted on the front of the base and the entire base became unsecured to the vehicle.the latch was still secured to the seat however the base of the car seat was not.this happened before i placed the car seat onto the base.this base appears to need an anchor oranother source to hold the base in place.

As a parent i'm sure you would feel the same way no matter what.now with that being said if she was not properly restrained i would be held accountable for any injuries sustained, so please look into this matter carefully.

Dt: doralsafety 1st, dom 11/02/2005.the handle was defective.went to pick up son in the car seat and picked the car seat up by the handle and itflipped completely over. This happened on september 17, 2005.

Right side carryng handle disconnected from the child safety seat while carryingchild. No injury was reported. Manufactuere was not notified at this time.

My 3 month old infant daughter was properly restrained in her rear facing car seat when the car she was riding in had a accident with another vehicle, the seat failed to protect her, when the handle broke and cut her behind the ear causing severe head trauma causing her to lose her life.this accident happened back in 06 and i have not been able to get help from anyone, all i got was the car seat just would not hold up, and car seats are meant to protect our children.nothing was done about this matter after seeking advice from several different attorneys.

Dorel juvenile group infant carseat

The handle of my babys infant car seat came loose after only 6 month of use. Back to front "play" is normal side to side "play" however s not. There is no way to correct it. The handle in time will fall off. There is a one year warentee on the car seat. I contacted dorel and am waiting for a new car seat and was told to stop using the old one immediatly as it is not safe for my baby to be in.

Child seat buckleintermittently does not connect with the latch.also, whenever the buckle does connect with the latch it will not release.consumer complains that the harness does not stay in position, and the child can get out of the seat on his own.

Vehicle was in side collision. Upon impact the ccs haress strapbuckle assembly came apart and the straps broke in half. Model #22-500wal.

My 18 month old daughter can and does unbuckle her own car seat on a regular basis.she pushes the little button on the buckle that goes across her chest and slips the straps off of her shoulders.there is nothing i can do to fix the situation and i believe that safety first owes me a new car seat or a total refund.

The contact owns a safety 1st child restraint, model number: 22149pal, manufactured december 1, 2012. The child restraint was being utilized in a 2004 chevrolet aveo.the contact stated that the vehicle was involved in a rear end crash, which resulted in the child seat harness buckle fracturing. The child being restrained in the seat was thrown from the seat and sustained a contusion.a police report was filed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The child restraint seat was not replaced and the vehicle was destroyed.

The contact owns a dorel safety 1st booster model bc026-atv, serial number 08bb263829, manufactured april 25, 2011.the contact stated that when the harness was adjusted, the lock would not secure the harness in the selected position. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure.

I was strapping my 35 lb daughter into her safety 1st, complete air 65 car seat yesterday, which we purchased brand new when she outgrew her baby car seat, and the latch on the chest harness snapped, rendering our car seat unusable.we have a second seat of the same brand in our other car, and now i am afraid to use it.if the latch broke under no stress for no reason, what would happen in a car wreck!?!awaiting a response from the dorel juvenile group.

The contact owns a djg safety 1st infant child seat. The child seat was manufactured november 23, 2006. The model number was gd4359698. For at least two months, the strap attached to the buckle loosens and the child isn't secure. When the child is seated the straps are tightened and they began to come loose. This failure occurs frequently.the passenger was required to readjust them periodically to ensure the child was secure.

Safety 1st intera model# 22-460-wal. 5-point harness will not release when taking child out of seat.

The contact owns two dorel safety first, model number 22-311 wal child seats.the chest buckle on both seats will not lock.the contact thought that the failure was minor, but, after the third attempt to buckle, she realized the buckles were defective.the seats were replaced.the manufacturer will be notified.

Harness buckle can become progressively more difficult to open over time or become stuck in the latched position.

The contact owns a safety first guide 65 sport convertible child restraint, model number: cc086glm and manufactured august 23, 2013.the contact stated that the seat belt buckle was rusted. As a result, the contact had to use force in order to click the buckle into the locked position.the child safety seat was still being used. The manufacturer was not contacted.

I have a dorel group safety first convertible car seat and need the repair kit. Model number is 22412-mom.

Dt*: the contact stated the child safety seat harness adjuster would not tighten enough to secure a small child.the child seat was taken to a child safety seat technician who confirmed this was a safety issue.the technician expressed that child safety seats usually has 2 loops that take up the slack of the harness for smaller children.this seat only had one loop. This was a dorel safety 1st. Model#22-460wala.dom: 08/25/06.updated 12/05/06.

Harness straps will not stay snug.i tighten them and my toddler is able to loosen them by the time we get to our destination.he is 3yrs old and 29lbs; too small to put into a booster seat.

Car seat strap keeps coming loose completely causing the child to no longer be strapped in the car seat. I replace the strap & it slowly loosens again.

Very difficult to unfastened the five point harness.

Dt: the straps that go over the infant andthrough the loops to tiekeep coming out and refuse to stay fastened.have manually tried to keep these straps fastened.this is the only problem with the child seat.the fastener keeps coming undone.

I bought a safety 1st alpha omega all in one car seat model #22152-cmn manufactured on 12-23-2006. However,on 5-11-2007. When i installed the car seat, the harness strap guides cameloose.i pushed them back in and thought they would stay snapped in place. On5-16-2007 the harness strap guides came a loose from the back of the car sea,t and one was digging into the side of my 1 year old son's neck and scratched him on the neck.

I bought this seat just about 3 yrs ago but didn't use it until about 8 months later because my daughter was premature & was too small to use it. I actually like the seat for the most part, but pulling closed the harness straps has never been easy. In fact it was so difficult to get them closed tightly rear facing, i choose to forward face earlier than the seat weight would have required because of it. In the last 3-4 months, it has become more difficult to pull closed the harness via the pull tab & even open it. The strap seems to get off track from underneath & there is no way to keep it there. This month, i have had to fight with this, often taking up to 20 mins to get the harness tight enough to be safe. I moved my seat to a different car last week, only to discover the pull tab is frayed on both sides.i emailed safety 1st about a replacement. Today, i needed to go grocery shopping & not only could i not tighten the straps enough to be safe, but i could not get it lose again with the tab & release. In my frustration i pulled a little on the harness & it pulled loose without much effort. This is very scary, thinking all this time has the harness been releasing without the button? thank god we have not had an accident! i will alert safety 1st again of this new development but, seeing as the complete air is a popular seat & i have seen other similar complaints online.. Your division should also look into this. A simple channel molded into the bottom of the plastic seat, specifically for the harness pull tab, seems logical to avoid such a dangerous issue in the future. I now have no car seat & no means to get a new one. As a single mother, this is a horrible situation to be in, i need to go shopping, take her to dr appointments & god forbid an emergency happens, what will i do now my $200+ car seat is a peace of crap, that is no longer safe to be used? thank you for your time. This is a safety 1st complete air se, cc093-air, wce1b328553.

2 times car safety seat shoulder straps came undone.

Noticed car seat harnesses were very loose after a trip in the car.at firsti thought of thepossibility thatthe child somehow released the harnesses, but after further invest i realized the harnesses were pulling loose from the back as the child moved forward. 22-562 safety 1st surveyor, dom 3/24/2006

The contact owns a safety 1st child seat, manufactured october 10, 2011. The contact stated that the harness would not remain secured tightly on the child. The contact was concerned that the loose harness could cause the child to be ejected from the seat in the event of a crash. The manufacturer was notified and informed the contact that she would need to continue to use the seat for 10 additional days until they could send her a replacement.

Dt*:the contact stated the latch that holds the child in the child safety seat comes unlatched very easily. The straps become very loose when this happens.the manufacturer has not been alerted.updated 3/22/2006 -the manufacturer was notified of the problem.a recall had been initiated for this problem but the consumer seat was not included.the consumer sent the consumer a repair kit for the designer 22's which fixed the problem with is seat (22-390-vin, og2b, 1/28/2004).

When attempting to get the child out of the forward facing child safety seat consumer noticed that the child's finger was stuck inside of a hole underneath of the fabric.consumer was unable to pull the child's finger out of the hole.consumer had to call the fire department to cut the child seat in order to get the child's finger out of the seat.

Consumer states:seat has armrest in front of child, spring mounts to seat the paded front in front of child has completely broke off on one side and is hanging off on the other.

Regarding lack of padding on back area for model number: 13b625632 all-in-one. We started noticing after my daughter turned 3 and lost her baby fat that she started complaining that her car seat was hurting her back. When we investigated our daughter had two areas of bruising where her spine stuck out. When we looked at the car seat we realized there was a lack of padding on the back area. We then inspected our 16 month old daughter's car seat, who has the exact same model, and felt the same lack of padding in the back area. I proceeded to have a car seat inspection done, where the inspector told me she has never seen a car seat with no back padding like this. She further advised me to make a complaint.

I have a doral safety first "air" booster seat.it was the seat used as a spare in the grandparents car for times she needed to pick the kids up.i recently went to reinstall it in her car, and the headrest part of the back will no longer lock into place, so the belt alignment guide is too low.the headrest just falls to the lowest position when you try to lock in in the proper position.the plastic tab that is supposed to lock it has deformed into a position where it will no longer lock.

A plastic piece that holds the metal bar which attaches the headrest to the main car seat body broke. This allows the headrest to come forward and almost separate from the car seat body on the side where the plastic piece was broken.this car seat was never in a car accident or used more than normal.

Dt: dorel juvenile groupmoel # 22-460-wal. Dom 08/03/2004/ this is an convertible child seat. Contactpicked up the child seat and some of the screws came out. The base seemed as if it is moving from the child seat. She purchased the child seat about six months ago. She tried to return the child seat to the store where she purchased it because they werno longer carrying this brand of child seat.

Re: dorel juvenile group (djg) touriva/comfort ride regal ride deluxe convertible child restraintwhen the harness is loosened to remove my infant son from the seat, the loop securing the harness to the harness bracket underneath the seat slides off the bracket.the bracket itself does not close around the loop to secure it, instead it relies on a small hook.the harness could become unfastened in this manner without the operator being aware as a result of everyday use (i.e. Loosening the harness restraint).i suggest that a new harness fastener be designed that would close around the harness loop completely.
